From the moment they showed up, the crew was on time, professional, and clearly knew what they were doing. They walked the property with me first, explained what they were going to do, and then got right to work. They dropped the branches safely, cut everything back exactly how we discussed, and did a thorough cleanup -- yard, driveway, even the sidewalk looked better than before they arrived. No random branches, no sawdust piles, no mess left behind. Pricing was fair for the amount of work they did, and there were no surprise add-ons at the end. Everyone was polite and respectful of the property, and they finished faster than I expected. I'd definitely use Big and Little Tree Service again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing tree trimming or removal.

We used this tree service to take down a large Sweetgum tree and bush a few months ago. Great job…read moreon the tree, average job on the bush. So, when we needed a tree trimmed and a few smaller, decorative (landscaping) trees and bushes removed, we called them again. I was out of town and a family member was present on the day they arrived. They did a decent job of removing the 3 smaller trees but a terrible job on trimming back two bushes. But the biggest transgression was when they told the family member that a large, 40 year old oak in the back yard which I had planted new, was dead and needed to be removed. It was late fall so leaves were not present to indicate a dead tree. My thought is that the little jobs weren't paying enough so they decided to "find" something to make more money. They cut down this oak, which was NOT dead, and charged a $2500 to do so! A check was given to them on the spot by the family member or I'd have refused. Takeaway? Be present when someone is working and get a second opinion (if needed) on whether a tree is dead or dying. I feel like we got played. Caveat Emptor. Below are 2 bushes they "trimmed." And don't get me started on why they didn't tell a family member that the oak pieces would make good firewood or could even be sold for furniture or wood working!

I'm sure he's going to come on here and make some kind of excuse to make it look like my fault just like he did the other unhappy customer on here but that's okay, cause the good Lord and I know just exactly what happened. Paul came to my home and gave me an estimate that I was VERY happy with and scheduled me for this morning at 9AM. I WAS SO excited because I've been waiting for a LONG time to have the walnut tree in the back-yard cut down and the maple tree in the front-yard cut down. He wasn't here by the scheduled time so I waited about 45 minutes and called him. He says to me, I didn't write your number down (that was a lie, he asked for it when I called him the very first time) or I would have called you at 10:30 last night when my wife announced to me that she had made an appointment to take our dog to doggie college...WTH!?!? Tell your wife you have a scheduled appointment and have her reschedule THAT appointment or take the dog HERSELF!!! He said he was in the bathroom and as soon as he finished, he'd call me back. It is almost 7PM and I STILL haven't heard a thing from him. I have called him at least 1/2 dozen times today simply asking him to call me back and say yes, I will cut your trees down as discussed or no, I won't cut your trees down as discussed.....is that too much to ask for?!?! I wouldn't suggest using American Tree, LLC.....maybe he'll show up or maybe he'll have to take Fido to doggie college.

The grass was cut, I was happy with the service, and I continued my service until the fall. This year when I called to resume service ( for the 3rd year), I was told they might not be able to provide service because they could not get my grass "as low as I would like it". I spoke with the owner Kristen last Thursday and told her I didn't mind the height so she agreed to come out and cut the grass on Mon or Tues. On today, Tuesday, I was called and told they would not provide service because they were questioned about the grass that one time. This obviously did not make sense, so when questioned about it Kristen gave the excuse that the guy who cuts grass for was "offended" when asked to go over part of the yard that looked uneven. As the paying customer, I thought that was my right to question services I receive. Also, she waited until the last minute to notify me when I could have set up services with someone else. One critique of the yard, which was resolved over a year ago, now I'm being refused service. This makes me feel this decision was racially motivated.
