So much so that my rage and anger immediately diminished. So here's why I'm leaving this review.... Today, it finally happened. At 42 years old, for the first time, I experienced something I've heard so many others speak about but had not personally encountered so directly--prejudice in plain sight. While checking out at Walmart using the self-checkout lane (around 10 PM, Thursday July 31), I--casually dressed, a doctoral candidate, married mother of three, U.S. Army veteran, career woman, and soon-to-be retiree after a lifetime of hard work--was approached by the attendant. Not to greet me like she had greeted all the other customers. Not to offer assistance. But to ask if I had scanned the box of diapers in my cart as a toy. No explanation. No polite inquiry. Just a direct, unfounded accusation. To be clear: * The writing on the diaper box was large and visible from her station. * She had spoken to every other customer around me--offering smiles, assistance, and casual conversation. * She had never acknowledged me once during my transaction... until it came time to question my integrity. This wasn't a mistake. It was about a bias--one so deeply ingrained that I was singled out despite every indication of honesty and decency. This is exactly how injustice persists. Quietly. Casually. But unmistakably. I was so pissed and offended that actually thought about making a scene there. I left it go and proceeded to leave. At that point I was greeted by really sweet greeter by the name of John. He was so polite that I decided to get in my truck and just come home to tell my husband about it. It's nearly 2AM and I can't seem to fall asleep because the incident is heavily weighing on my mind and I'm trying to figure out if I should've handled it on the spot to prevent anyone else like from experiencing the same thing.

I know this reference might not make much sense in a couple of years, but I couldn't stop thinking…read moreabout how it applied to my visit to the new Zappos outlet. Imagine: You're walking up and down the aisles, picking up boxes to peruse the contents. There are price tags but with all of the talk of discounts, you ask out loud, "So how much do these shoes really cost?" And then comedian Nate Bargatze strides up to you as George Washington, just like in the now viral SNL sketch. He puts a hand on your shoulder reassuringly. He replies: "Nobody knows." So it was with that confidence that my husband and I strode to the cash register, supremely mystified if we would be asked to pay $50 or $250 for the three pairs of kids shoes and one pair of adult sneakers. (Thankfully, the bill came to closer to $100.) We checked out the new Zappos outlet on its opening weekend, when it was advertised shoppers would get an additional 30% off their purchase. And we found an outlet with a decent number of shoes for adults and kids, plus several racks of clothes as well. I was in a bit of a rush, so we didn't take too long to look, mostly zeroing in on what we were there to find. This outlet was hopping, but everything seemed well organized and clean. The only confusion came from the prices, with signs saying there were even more discounts than the 30% off. I would definitely come back here when I had more time to shop.

They actually have some pretty nice items and are super cheap. For instance my daughter got a super nice and fancy dress and some dress shoe for $7. When she put it on she looked like she was about to go to a prom. So you can't beat that pricing. As mentioned it is super crowded so if tight spaces and clutter bother you then this place will trigger you. It does have a cigarette stench. Not sure if current owners or past owner smokes or smokes like a chimney but there a permanent smell in there that may be off putting Overall it's a cute and cool little thrift shop with plenty of options and can't beat pricing. I enjoy little upstart shops like This and hopefully it does well and succeeds.

So I wasn't sure how the return would go. But Carla, at the return desk was super efficient, pleasant and professional and had a credit posted to my account within 2 minutes, using information from my emails. We shopped (to use some of that credit since I had already paid the bill) and a clerk in rhe store was also super friendly and helpful inquiring if we needed help. Dressing rooms were free of cluter and accessible. Overall, an easy experience and I was able to use some of my credit on new dresses.

They want you to download the app and scan them.. when you do an alert pops up that pricing online is different than in store.... Okay then why did i spend the time to do all that when the price isn't even accurate. Not to mention if you could find a shoe you liked, the boxes were no where near the display. I literally could t find one pair I was looking for and I looked for a half hour. Finally gave up and went to look at the clothes only to see that department unorganized too. Find a pair of shorts and go to find my size there's a 3, then 17 then a different pair of shorts all together... same with every shirt or dress I liked. Some tank tops on this side of the store and the same ones on the other side. I have never been so frustrated... just walked out with nothing after being there more than an hour simply. Because everything was so unorganized
