To us, this was the nicest store in Roswell...so nice we came here twice actually!…read more As soon as you walk into Hangar 209 you are greeted warmly by one of the employees. I believe they even offered us free coffee and they are dog friendly so we were also greeted by some adorable pups! I love that and I especially love any space that makes our dog feel welcome. The vibe and aesthetic are relaxed and luxurious and it's immediately apparent that they're selling very good quality merchandise. I spent a lot of time looking at their custom shirts and sweaters and my husband spent a lot of time looking at their beef jerky. They have a local line called abduction jerky that had an amazing variety of flavors. On our first visit we were still checking out the downtown area so we grabbed some snacks and drinks and headed out but after touring the town a bit more and realizing what a gem this store actually is, we headed back before we ended our day so that we could pick up some more items. How often do you find a shop with ONLY 5 star reviews? This place is a gem. It really feels like they have something for everyone. If you're exploring the area and you're looking for a shop that's a bit more thoughtful, welcoming and well done, this is the place.

There are Velcro patches w cool Roswell logos. We were impressed with the t shirt designs. Unique designs not found at other shops. Definitely worth a stop.

This Farmers Country Market is located in the same plaza as Ace Hardware, with plenty of parking…read more My husband and I decided to stop by this market this afternoon just because we were curious on the food items they sold and also figured we could pick up some vegetables and other food items while we are on our vacation. When we first entered the store (please note that there are cart wipes by the entrance, which is always nice), I was surprised to see a section at the entrance of different jars of salsa, a lot of which were made here in New Mexico. We also saw some boba milk tea and flavored coconut milk drinks with aloe (which are products of Thailand) and ended up purchasing a few. The drinks themselves are actually not too sweet and tasted pretty good. Pricing was ~ $1.29 per bottle, which wasn't bad of a price. The produce section (all the way to the right hand side if you are facing the back of the store) was small but had plenty of variety of both fruits and vegetables. We ended up purchasing cucumbers that were 2 for $1 since it was on sale. I liked the gourmet cheese section with the variety of cheeses available (which is right by the produce section). I also liked the wine and beer section, which was nice to see local beers and wines made here in New Mexico (which I ended up picking up a bottle of New Mexico made Moscato to celebrate my upcoming birthday). We ended up purchasing a few other items in the store, which pricing seemed to be fair for what they were. One thing that I do want to make mention is that we both thought it was kind of weird to see 2 (separate) people in the store shopping without wearing a mask. I know that an employee saw these people but did not bother to tell them (even though there is a sign by the entrance to inform customers that they are required to wear a mask before entering). But other than that, we had a good experience on this shopping trip and would definitely be a regular if we lived in this area.

This store tends to markup their prices during a suppose sale. I went to check out a sale one day…read moreas i saw on their front windows a sign that said, "Super Sale." Supposely there was an entire sale on all the store from 10% to 50% off, but all that turned out to be just a scam. The prices were mark ups to maximum retail value in order for you to get a percent discount which brought the price at regular price. I saw a nice INVICTA watch i wanted. The selling price was $849 with a 10% off which was around $649 or something. I looked at that same model watch and brand on Ebay for $149. Some fucked up sale. Was not impressed. Saw all they had and it was all marked up prices. No sale was going on. Be a smart shopper. Check before you buy.

I visited the Roswell, NM store on Thursday and Friday, July 10 and July 11, respectively, to look…read moreat the housewares section, where I noted the sale price of several OXO brand kitchen utensils. The prices seemed a bit higher than I am accustomed to paying in California, where I live. For example, on Thursday, the fruit scoopers were marked at $13, and a 4 qt. pop-top containers were $30, an extraordinarily high price for this product. I returned to the store with my daughter the following day and saw sale signs at the OXO products. However, rather than finding the $13 fruit scooper marked down, I found that the regular price of this item had been doubled to $26, and the "sale price" for a $26 item was $15.99. How dare you hoodwink your customers this way!!! This sort of shady business dealings has lost you not one but several customers. I warned my daughter and her in-laws against shopping at this store. Undoubtedly, the word will spread about the JC Penney "sales" in Roswell, NM.

Not counting our hotel , or shopping or eating , this was the activity we spent the most money on…read morein our time in Roswell, and it was by far the least worth it. I was really taken aback because of all the good Yelp reviews. I don't know if I am missing something or I came on a bad day but this is definitely not worth it in my opinion, especially when there are so many other fun things to do close by. When you enter The Alien Zone there is a tiny gift shop in the front and the girl behind the counter was watching a movie on her laptop. We asked for two tickets and paid $17.32. She pointed to the curtain and said "You're fine to go back and check it out. You can touch all of the props and take pictures." Once we walked through the curtain, I thought we were getting pranked. There was a wall full of toys like aliens and rats and spiders but they are all behind netting that has been zip tied together, so you can't touch any of it. Then you see a few displays with aliens that look like they are left over from some old escape room or something. Underwhelming is an understatement. We figured since we had already paid, we might as well try to have some fun, but it is so dark in the room that It's difficult to get a good photo. There are only two rooms and once we got into the second room it got really really warm. At the very end they have a lab coat that you can put on for photo ops I guess but we were literally sweating, so we just left. If you are reading reviews to decide which things are worth doing and which things are not, definitely put this on your not list. The UFO spacewalk is just a block or two away, it's less expensive, and way more fun. There are also plenty of alien photo ops all around the city, including the visitor center, that don't cost a penny.
