To start with: I was hooked on Debbie during our first conversations. Unlike other wedding planners I spoke with, she did not immediately push me on her packages and get me to sign a contract. Instead she spent two hours on the phone with me listening to our day and the issues we had run into so far planning. She immediately jumped in and worked with me trying to find solutions to these initial problems. I actually felt like she cared about our day and was going to work hard to make it perfect. That's when we chose her and over the year we planned together, we never regretted the decision. My husband and I had a complicated wedding day. We had 200 guests and had two ceremonies (Hindu and Christian) at two locations with a luncheon and evening reception. All in one day! It was logistically very complicated. In addition, Debbie had never planned an Indian wedding (which she was up front about during our initial conversations). While we definitely needed to both do our homework throughout the year, Debbie did an amazing job all year researching Hindu traditions and actually coming to us with ideas for vendors. She is unbelievably organized and meticulous which is definitely why our crazy day went so perfectly. We weren't sure if we could truly pull off our tight timeframe for the day but we did almost to the minute! Our guests definitely noticed how smooth the whole day was and appreciated it! We have received so many compliments about our wedding day from both of our families and friends. We were able to honor both sides and traditions and make the long day fun for them. Much of this success is due to Debbie. Debbie is also just truly a pleasure to work with. Her husband, Mike, and her are just "good people" that make it fun to spend hours throughout the year on the phone discussing what can be mundane details of a wedding day, checking out vendors, etc. She led us repeatedly to vendors that were similar - she tried to use smaller and locally owned vendors when possible. We were so happy with everyone she introduced us to and loved supporting local. One of the most telling signs of what Debbie meant to me is probably how I felt that week before the wedding. While I had some stress with our visitors and some private events we were hosting during the week with family and friends, I had NO stress about the wedding day itself. I had total faith that Debbie and her team would be on top of all the details. When my mom expressed a worry about how she'd know when this or that was happening on the day, I said "don't worry! listen to Debbie!" It's wonderful to NOT focus on all those details and last minute challenges of wedding planning, but rather to be able to focus on the excitement of marrying the love of your life and celebrating with family and friends. We used Debbie for Day of Planning, as well as having her assist us with the rehearsal the night before. We had several phone calls in the months leading up to the event. It was so helpful that she always had a list of things that I needed to accomplish before our next call. I had so many other things going on it was difficult to stay on task. Debbie took the time to meet with me and my family during one trip to Michigan and was able to meet with me again when I returned three weeks before. She was so kind to all of my family members, after our first meeting they all commented on how organized she was. In the weeks leading up to the wedding Debbie offered her assistance with all the last minute details, she even offered to help me out if my family was starting to drive me nuts. Before the events she confirmed all vendor appointments and even worked out a few kinks we had in the scheduling. I was able to drop all of the little details for the wedding to her in advance so I would not have to worry about the little things like table numbers and seating charts. The day of our wedding Debbie and her team were so helpful, everything was seamless, she took charge of the ceremony, because the venue did not have an onsite coordinator. I did not have to worry about a thing. She even handled a little meltdown by my aunt. I do not think our wedding would have turned out so amazing without her. Swensens is not worth the amount frustration you will deal with in using this company. Here is everything that went wrong. Poor lack of communication after receiving first half of payment for services. No communication and constant missed emails on Paul Swensens part after the final payment. Neither Paul or any of his employees knew 2 days prior to my wedding what we wanted for songs or pictures after we spent hours filling out paperwork and sent it in weeks prior. Photographers Mike and Yolonda threw personal belongings on the floor while photographing and didn't clean up the mess they created. Yolonda also fed herself at the reception before any of my guests had been called up, say at our guests table and ate in front of them. Completely disgusting in my opinion. The DJ ruined my whole day. Eric is unprofessional and way under qualified for working a wedding. 1. He didn't look at our paperwork because he asked before the ceremony what songs we were walking down to and at the reception he asked again for the songs we'd be introduced to and our first dances. 2. The DJ introduced us as "MR. MRS. BLISS" Our last name is BIST 3. He messed up the bridal party song 4. He messed up my Father Daughter dance 5. He did not play the one and only song my husband requested that was highlighted on the paperwork 6. His streaming source is YOUTUBE. 7. His music glitched all night. 8. He still has never apologized 9. His attitude was repulsive The videographer had horrible body oder all night and the photo booth tech had terrible breath. Six weeks passed by after our wedding and I had not been contacted once by Paul about the editing of our pictures, or to extend an apology for our night having so many malfunctions. It took a total of 75 days to have everything in my possession and he edited out the mess up from my raw footage. Sneaky and deceitful on top of sloppy. My friends and family all witnessed everything that went wrong. Several of them wrote a review on their experience. This pissed Paul off. He told me that because of the reviews and opinions of our friends and family, and because of the rating drop on Google, he was not going to compensate us for the DJ's many mistakes. In fact, he said that had we made the reviews go away or said nothing at all, that he would have threw money our way because he had "deep pockets". Paul told us we were lying about everything in this review. The validity of our complaints were not cared for at all. Again, he did not work my wedding but he'll protect his brothers good name at all cost no matter how horrible he is as a DJ. Please don't put yourself in the same position we did. Go somewhere else and spend more money. This clown car company will 100% take your money and ruin your day. Enclosed are several pictures of the amount of communications that went ignored or overlooked. As well, there is a picture of their sad attempt of an apology and a picture of Herb the videographer literally losing it over equipment failures. Lastly I've included a photo of my dress they captured. Off to the right you'll notice my Sketchers flipflop in the middle of the floor. That is the quality of work you get from Swensens. 75 days for them to completely miss this while snapping the photo AND editing.

We will now pay for someone else to FIX what can be fixed. Also just a heads up...do not count on them to get all the typical shots a photographer should take. The only picture they took of the entire wedding party was the toast. Surely did not think that we needed to say hey get this shot get this shot, etc. They could have re-edited the pictures and sent them to her to make it right...but they did not.

Two things to be aware of: when they dropped off the items they told my mom where they recommended the dance floor and then put it on a steep hill so it was undanceable, my uncle had to come over to put plywood underneath so no one would fall. We called PPR and they were unable to do anything. The second thing is they offer "100 person" packages where ten people are supposed to sit at a tiny table- the chair sides hit each other when they are placed at the table. You have to order extra tables. I sent them an email a week ago thanking them for the excellent customer service and voicing my concerns- no one has responded. Very disappointed.
