This is my daughter's first center experience and as a former preschool teacher myself - I have to say I am impress with this school! The staff are all kind and warm. Classrooms are always clean. In July I went moved to Poway from Carlsbad for work. I have now had kids at 2 different Big Future schools and have trouble finding the words to say how great these schools are. The director and teachers are so nice but it is also great to see Alma (I believe the companies top manager) several times a week visiting the school just like I would see her at Carlsbad (this woman must have rocket pack on) making sure everything is going well. read more

We absolutely love Big Future Preschool! Right from the beginning of our journey looking for a childcare/daycare/preschool for our child, all the staff at Big Future have been so kind, warm, and helpful. This was the one and only preschool that responded to our inquiry when we first started looking. We're a year in and we continue to LOVE it. Our child loves all his teachers, Ms. Martha, Ms. Shar, Ms. Tina and Ms. Hazel and talks about them and his friends all the time. Ms. Tina is very open with the parents about how their child is at school and is always open to partnering with the parent to find solutions when needed (e.g., my child's nap time- which is also a struggle at home). As a child development professional, I appreciate the school's philosophy of learning (especially in the Jr. Preschool, play is learning for littles!). The balance between structured learning (circle times, story times, art) and free play (outside time, dino play, etc.) is perfect for my kiddo, who thrives in routine. Outstanding. Worth every penny and it's reasonably priced. Our daughter had the privilege of going here for 1 year and we LOVED it. They don't just watch your kids, they will actually educate them. Where do I start, the most amazing preschool I have ever stepped foot in. We love Big Future Preschool! My 4 YO attended here from October 2019 to March 2019 and we wish we had more time there! (Coronavirus hit and we left and then soon my daughter will go to Kindergarten.) For those 5 months we had a wonderful experience all around. From Christine and Christina managing the front, to the lovely teachers, it was a fantastic experience overall. My daughter learned so much and loved going to school. I personally watched a couple science sessions with Ms. Kay and they were so interesting and fun. And the writing with Ms. Sangeeta was so great! She was extremely patient and she spends time with each of the kiddos to practice writing. This school is a wonderful place for the kiddos and is a great prep for kindergarten. Even with a large gap because of the coronavirus, I am confident my daughter is ready for school next year! read more

Id appreciate if the front Mrs Christina would answer the phone and return promised phone calls it's starting to seem personal. My daughter attended here for a while and she always seemed fake around me no matter how nice I was to her and Mrs Christina is acting like she's not ever available suddenly and being very unprofessional and I'd like to know why? She refused to have the owner give me a callback as I requested as well. My son was supposed to start in July and she acted like it wasn't her on the phone and I told her this is Mrs Christina she responds "no no this is Jessica we sound alike". It's funny because my good friend's son is in the school and his mom told me it was Mrs Christina there. Clearly she's avoiding me! So I'd really like to know what's going on and why is Christina so against me and playing all these childish games? It's concerning because I remember she had a complaint with the department of Child care and now I need the owner to know about her actions and please call me. I know the Law pretty well and when my daughter was there she fraudulently wrote a fake injured report when my daughter got hurt under her care and she backdated it in front of me. I told her If it wasn't for me asking about her injury and requesting her injury report you would've never told me and never reported to me as a parent. Then she put a wrong date to back herself up. I am also a business owner and it's sad to see an employee destroy a family owned business and give people like me no other choice but to put a review. Be very careful parents Christina is very fake and already had cases with the department of child care. It's worrisome and at this point I wouldn't even trust leaving my child under her care because how much she hides when it comes to children injuries and the fake smile she carries to the parents. I love Big Future. When it was time to look into schools for my son, Big Future came highly recommended from neighbors and friends. Miss Christina is so sweet and set us up for a tour right away. The school is cute, it's clean, and I love that they have tear free learning. My son loves his teachers, he's just moved into an older classroom, and we're pleased with his progress so far. I wish I could give Big Future more stars! They are absolutely amazing with my 4 year old daughter. She just started her 2nd year there, and the amount of growth that we have seen in her shocks me still everyday! Within weeks of her attending BF she was articulating herself better, learning to be even more independent than she already was, growing more and more patient everyday. Every single teacher has been nothing more than kind to my husband and myself, especially when we have any questions or concerns, they are always very upfront and direct with us, they take every concern seriously and do everything they can to accommodate. Miss Tina, Miss Brisson, Miss Sarah and Miss Christine have had the most interaction with our daughter. All four have adored her and I believe they truly want nothing but the best for her. We love hearing all the great things they have to say about the growth she has made over the best year. Some new teachers like Miss Katie and Miss Sangita (sorry, not sure how to spell her name) have also been amazing and just yesterday I got some amazing feedback from Miss Sangita about our daughter and it makes my husband and I so happy and lucky that we have such great teachers to help our daughter be the best she can be. When I first found Big Future Preschool before my daughter was two, I was in love with them. She started shortly after they just opened the toddler program. They are licensed for 12 and at that time there was only about 4 to 5 kids, including my daughter. Once the class was getting closer to the 12 student limit, my daughter started throwing tantrums because she doesn't deal well with loud noises. I understand that children can be difficult. I feel because the teachers also showed frustration with my daughter's tantrums my daughter didn't respond well. The reason I am giving 3 out of 5 stars because I feel like since my daughter was more of a challenge compared to the other children they gave her the boot. In the email in regards to finding my daughter new care, it was mentioned that my daughter doesn't like to sit still at lunch time and walks around with her food. This is now a safety hazard because they have children with allergies. I'm sorry but I feel this was just a excuse to name more reasons to justify their reasoning to let her go. So basically because she's a toddler and doesn't want to sit still, that is a good reason to name for her needing new care. My daughter was also sick left and right because of the school off and on for 2-3months. She got the stomach flu, hands feet and mouth, and minor colds. I understand kids get sick around other kids but they didn't take this into account when she be throwing her tantrums. She also does need a little more one on one attention. I was informed their teachers can not provide that one on one attention. My daughter is in a preschool with a class of 12 children and she's doing great. There is also only two teachers but they have the knowledge and understanding of how to help my daughter adapt. She barely throws tantrums anymore and is doing really well with their routines on a daily basis. So if your child needs more one on one attention, and throws a lot of tantrums, doesn't like to sit still, and gets sick a lot and throws tantrums because of it, this isn't the place for you. read more

I wish I could give them ten stars. My experience is with the toddler program, but the entire school is amazing. Danika leads the toddler program and she is hands down the best teacher ever. She's the perfect combination of education and heart. She loves the kids, and works really hard to make them all feel comfortable and loved, while teaching them and advancing their skills. As a mom, the hardest thing I ever did was drop my son off when I had to go back to work. it broke my heart and consumed me. However, once I found Danika, all of that uneasiness and heartache went away. I trust her with my son's safety and well being and never question it. It's such a comfort to know that he's in such good hands everyday when we drop him off. Christine, the director is also great. She's professional, and kind. They work hard here to make sure that they maintain that level of professionalism while ensuring the kids are happy. Everyone I encounter is nice and a pleasure to be around. We ended up pulling our daughter from Big Future in October 2017. We were told that she wasn't ready for the next class due to potty training issues and yet we were forced to move her up due to age. This has been by far the best experience for preschool for my son. We have been going here for 2 years and my son is now ready for kindergarten! The teachers are all so sweet, and professional. They truly are genuinely happy people and you can tell right off the bat they are going to take care of your child, because they care. I love Mrs.Christine at the front she has been so accommodating to our family. Ms. Kaye and my son had an incredible bond that was so special to see, my son is kind of shy and she totally made him feel welcome ALL the time. I have known Big Future Preschool for a very long time. Several of my friends who sent their kids to BigFuture rave about this school just like the other reiewers here. My LO went to this school as well for sometime and then we moved on to another school. There are several great things about this school and some not so great. Firstly the great things - They are flexible in terms of helping students adjust when they are new. They let my LO hang out with the kids during playtime to try out even before we officially joined the school. Most schools don't do that. So thumbs up for that. They are open most of the year, no winter or even Christmas break. So if you are busy parent it works great for you. The school is pretty clean and very well organized. Great art work! Some of the teachers are great! They take pictures every so often. Not so great things- The good old team is gone - All the great teachers like Ms.Saba, Ms.Shala, Ms.Prakash are all gone within a matter of few months. They were amazing teachers who were passionate about teaching and cared about the kids. With all due respect to the new team, it is huge loss to the school and its students. Also, it tells me that the management failed at keeping the staff that originally made the school the great place it was. Director - She is polite and answers any questions whenever she is available. She cares, but not enough. I say that because as a director you need to work with parents and see what each* child's needs are and ensure teachers work on those aspects. This Director philosophy is "this is what we do, and this is what you get" and she is not the type that encourages individual attention. Every kid is unique, if you don't give them individual attention, how can a 'one-size should fit all' approach help them? Individual attention and speaking skills - Very little individual attention and not enough activities that encourage kids to speak up or talk among each other or with the teacher. Kids do a lot of listening to teachers and that caused LO to get frustrated by the end of the day as there wasn't enough opportunity to talk, scream, sing etc. Teachers - As I said above, some teachers in the new team are great, but there are some that are sometimes a bit too harsh on kids and rude to parents. Teaching is not just about making the students follow your instructions, checking all the items in the checklist and getting through the day, it is about nourishing those new lives with love, compassion and showing that in example and at the same time showing respect towards their parents.Not that they don't do any of that but when some of them repeatedly show a lack of respect and compassion it is uncomfortable to leave the kids under their leadership. And here is a big problem I had with this school - Communication!!! They don't give daily updates like most schools do. They say teachers are here to answer if any questions but the teachers on most days give the template update of "He had a good day!" or "He did good". There is no info on how long LO slept, what his mood was like, what he enjoyed working on all of the week or who he plays with the most. You may get some info if you ask but sometimes you may not know even if you ask because the main teacher has left for the day already and if your LO had a meltdown on your way home for no apparent reason, you don't know what was different at school that particular day. Great teachers connect with the students and observe what they like and don't like doing, what their strengths and weaknesses are. Some of the teachers here do that and occassionally*, when they have the time and are in a good mood, communicate it to the parents. So parents have to get really lucky to get a good update on their kids. Some teachers here give the "you worry too much" look when you ask more than a couple of questions. In summary, it was like LO goes into this gray box and comes out. I kinda knew what went on but not really on most days. It is okay to not do paper updates everyday but the management doesn't put any efforts into compensating it with other forms of communication. Last but not the least, they don't do as many special events as most schools do. In other schools they always have something special going and that stimulates the kids and encourages them to look forward to going to school, but my LO showed lack of interest in going to school because it is the same routine every day without much excitement. I hope the school keeps up the good work they are already doing and addresses the issues for the students and parents that are still there. read more

I have to say that I have never been happier with a preschool before. Big Future Preschool has accommodated my daughter and her schedule, and I couldn't be more pleased. Christine, the director is very approachable and friendly. Both of the teachers, Ms. Danika and Ms. Tina are very welcoming and friendly to all the kids and parents as well. I was worried, a first time parent sending their child to school, and this school did a wonderful job of helping ME along with the process for my child to transition into school. She comes home happy and is excited to go to school. I went to a few places and toured them before I made my choice. I am thrilled at my decision. Big Future has great staff and the kids all seem happy. As a teacher, I feel very confident and comfortable with my daughter going there. I can hardly put into words how much we loved this school for our children. My daughter who just graduated from the KinderPrep class (now almost 5) started there when she was about 21 months. It was incredible just after the first few months of being there how much she learned and grew. She is now almost 5 and I'm confident they have prepared her well for kindergarten. Soon as our son was old enough we enrolled him right away. The school is always clean and in good shape. Every month there is a theme they focus on for education and it's tailored to each level class. They also have fun days that they plan out for the kids. They provide the kids with healthy snacks in the morning and afternoon as well. One thing I really appreciated was that and I was able to pack their own lunches and they abided by my kids dietary restrictions-they're vegetarian. The teachers were so wonderful and loving to all the kids. I never worried about my kids while they were there because I knew they were in great hands. Christine, the director, is a rockstar! She always kept the parents informed about things going on at school and was very easy to talk to about anything. We are definitely going to miss BFP. Highly recommend this facility. Ms. Christine (Principal/Director for this location) is a great leader. Although I wish the management were able to retain a couple of their teachers who left sometime back, Christine's choice of hiring in the new teachers has been quite amazing. The class sizes and layout are well suited for the teacher to manage bunch of energetic kids. They had some issues with the facility being older but management took necessary steps to fix it. They clean and maintain the place, toys, learning material very well. Some of their time is still spent doing "work" like in the Montessori approach which we think is quite useful. Academic focus for age 3.5 and above is a big plus, that would help kids stay ahead once part of public school system. read more

We can't be happier with Big Future Preschool in Poway. Our daughter just left because it was time for her to start kindergarten but she has been coming here since she was 3 yrs old and she loved it there from the very first day. Ms. Tina, Ms. Kay, Ms. Sangeeta and Ms. Sara are all wonderful teachers. They're sweet and caring but firm when they need to be. They have a theme they focus on every month and come up with very creative projects to keep the kids engaged. Our daughter came home spouting off facts about various subjects and was proud to show us her artwork and her writing assignments. I feel that our daughter learned that school (and learning in general) is fun because of BFP and her teachers there. Her transition to kindergarten has been smooth so far and I feel that is because her BFP teachers prepared her for kindergarten. To me this school is very sad. I have been a professional nanny for 15 years, my background is an education in child development, pre school teaching , and just seeing dozens of preschools over the years. When the kids I nanny started at this school it was excited they had an amazing mix of teachers , Miss Brison was my favorite stuck firmly in Montessori methods , her classroom felt like a community of people who happily explore , create , invent, socialize, and learn at each others individual pace. Now it is a very different place . It is a rushed parent pleasing environment as I like to call it. There is huge push to learn letters and writing at a pace most 3-4 year olds are not ready for. Most 5 year olds can not developmentally track words in a line yet . I see a lot of wrote memorization and printed busy work , to bring home to parents to show what the kid is working on. Instead of taking the time to educate parents on why other methods create a richer learning experience. More documentation of interactions during the day , and hands on learning experiences helps parents see what kids are working on. If they look up Reggio Emilia approach they will see other ways to document a childs learning. The way this teaching is set up is a great way to burn out good teachers because they are not letting them be the creative amazing educators they are. Teachers have shorter tempers , teachers start saying and doing things even though they know they shouldn't. (Yes I have witnessed this.) Miss Tina is pretty awesome because she is such a hard working teacher and she seems to have a way of knowing what's going on in every single class. My son made the switch to this childcare facility after leaving ABC children's center. I could notice the difference it made in a week, he totally loves it. No more crying and screaming when I drop him off, his anxiety has totally gone away. Within a month he totally has adjusted and is content. The director is personable, nice and very welcoming. They were Amazing not just to my daughter but to me when i needed an extra day of care for my toddler, they were there. This pre school i highly recommend it's clean organized and the teacher there have kind hearts. I love how secure it is as well gated all around and on top of a hill away from traffic.
