The positive of their Angola location is that is a well stocked store with a wide variety of items and litterally something for every sport. In general their prices are comparable to any brick and mortar store but seem higher across the board than what I can purchase online. When employees ask you to look on line for reviews or advice, they are encouraging you to make the purchase online. My issues are that their employees are woefully untrained and unknowledgable about the majority of their items. It seems like they are using a high school intership program to fully staff their store. Over the last few years it seems as if they have little knowledge of their inventory at all besides how to read a sku to check you out. I long for the days when this chain hired knowledgable sales associates or had a continual training program to educate their workers throughout their employment. While I realize they are running a store with skeleton crews to cut overhead, is it that hard to ask a coworker for advise or to help a customer if you can't. Honestly the employees try hard and seem friendly. I don't completely fault them for what the don't know, but more so blame the management for not developing their workers, identifying strong candidates while building a staff, correctly staffing the store, or retaining the good workers they sometimes have. Retail is a difficult industry, but if I ask a question while in the store, an employee should not ask me to check the reviews online because I may opt to purchase it online and that has become the case here more often than not. When I am at the lake, it is an hour round trip to come here and it is disappointing to return home with nothing and wait for it to be shipped online from somewhere online

Then saw a girl putting shoes on a display. I said Do you work here. She says Ya. I asked if she had a size 10 in these. She says Ya. After handing me the shoes she said nothing else to me. Come on Get new management in there and Train these people. One word of advise if they have no enthusiasm in the interview chances are they wont in the store. At least act like your excited to be there and act like you like people. I don't go in very much and its been like this for 4 years.

"We know what we're talking about, but we're not going to go over your head about it." Knowing what to use, and not carry twice as much as needed. This was the part that bankrupted one of there competitors. Roots sporting goods, they tried to carry everything, the staff was overrun and id not know what they are doing. Even I could tell. Earth Adventures only does a few things; one of their newest classes that is offered is an emergency preparedness class. This is better than what the Red Cross-offers. Can you pick up one bag, and walk out the front door, for three days? Then have a second bag for seven days? I could just get in my van and drive off.

After a few so-so shopping expierences at different locations my last couple of trips to Dunhams, I was happy to find that some stores can still get it done. While this is my first time visiting their Coldwater location I have no problem recommending this Dunhams to anyone in Fremont, Quincy, the Chain of Lakes, or the tri-state area.

It seems like years ago there were a dozen fishing shops in a 20 mile radius of our lake and today…read morethey are far and few between. I am glad to see that Tri State Bait and Tackle has stood the test of time and is still going strong. I stopped here last year multiple times for bait and tackle. TSBT is located south of the 120/69 interchange and the outlet malls. Head south down the road like you are going to Pokagon and look to the west about halfway there and you won't miss it. The building is not huge, but it is all fishing, all the time. They have great prices on bait, tackle is decently priced, and they have some decent sales. Over the last year I have purchased two reels, a new rod, an anchor mount for my john boat, hooks, swivels, fishing line, and some split shots from TSBT as well as crickets, red worms, night crawlers a dozen plus times. I have always had fast, friendly, and attentive service when visiting the store. The staff is knowledgable and gives great advice. No problem recommeding Tri State Bait and Tackle to anyone living in Angola, Fremont, the surrounding lakes, or travelling across the tristate area in search of their next great catch.
