I hired Craig and his team to cater my wedding, which took place at a remote venue about 2 hours outside of Tucson. The event was a challenge because not only was it remote, but I was also planning the event from the other side of the country. That meant I didn't have the benefit of meeting with caterers in person, trying food in advance, and undertaking all the traditional steps of finding vendors for a wedding. I knew I had found the right person to handle the event from the very first call. He was cordial, asked the right questions, clearly communicated his requirements, and was honest. He didn't disappear or go radio silent after I signed the contract and he was communicative all the way through the planning process and leading up to the event. About two months before the event, he graciously drove the two hours out to the venue to conduct a property walk-through with me when I was in town for the holidays. He refused additional reimbursement for his time or gas money to get out to the venue. In the last month leading up to the event, I communicated to Craig that a few of my guests had some allergies, and one was vegan. This was a quaint wedding of only about 20 people, so that meant coming up with some original alternatives for those few individuals. Furthermore, I hired him to prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner the day of the wedding, which exasperated those challenges. On the day of the event, he had a custom vegan-friendly dish prepared for all three meals and took extraordinary precautions to prevent allergen cross-contamination. Every single meal was punctual, artfully presented, and delicious. This is not your standard wedding food or copy-and-paste banquet meal. Craig is extraordinarily talented and was continuously present throughout each meal to greet guests and present his dishes. Every guest was impressed and raving about the food. In addition to the tremendous food, Craig also helped to arrange servers for the event and even helped bring additional tables for the event. Craig is just a genuinely good person and you cannot do better than hiring him for your next event.

If you're looking for the best diner, the best plumber, the best doctor, etc., all you have to do is ask a few longtime residents and you're good to go. Which is great, if you know the right people; not-so-great if you're a newbie. But, after ten years here I thought I was well past newbie status...that is, until, by word of mouth, I stumbled upon Barbra McCraney and The Social Register. A successful, highly professional, completely wonderful FULL SERVICE CATERER (big deal in these parts) that has been in business for nearly 30 years yet has practically ZERO internet presence - hence the reason I didn't know about her. Because I'm a total web-nerdy newb. But Barbra, she's old school, all right, with a personality so bright and lovable, and years of experience so distinguished, it shines through every aspect of her business. From our initial meeting to discuss menus/linens/servers/bartenders details for my company's holiday party, to the final wrap of our skillfully executed event, the Social Register staff were consummate pros. And the food, I can only describe it as down home cooking meets upscale flavor. Lots of yum. Also worth mentioning: "Death by Chocolate" - out of this world! Truly. As in, must have arrived from another planet because I don't enjoy chocolate cake, ever (so, possibly I'm the alien), but my husband insisted I try a bite and, holy crap! Rich but not heavy, decadent but somehow light; too magical for words, just sooooo goooood! And there you go. Now you know. Tell your friends. Let them eat cake!

My wife and I love to cook and have prepared some outstanding meals at home over our 40 years together. We have extensively traveled and lived throughout the world and as such developed pallets for superb cuisine from all over. As we grew older we gleaned the best of what we enjoy and developed them into our own cooking skills. My wife being Korean born refined her cooking skills in the eastern cuisine like Korean, Japanese, Thailand, and others while I have refined my skills with French and Italian. Prescott is a beautiful place to live but its culinary basis is built on sawdust. We usually cook for ourselves if we want a top notch meal. Now the past several years I have been confined to a wheelchair and transport is very limited. We used to spend winters in Hawaii where we could get great quality meals and seafood whether we prepared them or went out. So our 40th! I wanted to do something special for my wife since I have not been living up to my end of our culinary relationship being confined to a wheelchair. Thus I started seeking out a Chef that would come to our home with his staff and prepare a custom made meal for us. I selected Chef Thomas and Copper State Kitchen. I started by a rather lengthy discussion via phone and followed up with sending Chef Thomas some of our favorite recipes, sufficient for him to develop a five-course meal for us. Chef Thomas is very professional and easy to work with. We refined the meal over the next two days we agreed on the following proposed menu; I supplied the wines. Amuse-Bouche * Fig Jam, Blue Cheese, Red Wine Poached Pear & Arugula Crostini Starter * Prime Rib Poke with sesame crunch and microgreens and pipkuala aioli (based on my deconstruction of the infamous Tiki Bar in Waikiki dish) Pasta Course * Lobster Tagliatelle in a Champagne Cream Sauce Main Course * Beef Wellington with foie gras and red wine demi-glace Dessert * Crème Brûlée (torched table-side) Wine Pairings * Santa Margarita Prosecco DOCG * Domaine Salmon Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc * Tenuta de Sesta Brunello di Montalcino 1996 * Chateau Rieussec 1st Grand Cru Classe 1863 Sauternes 2004 Every course was perfect and very enjoyable. And they cleaned the kitchen meeting my wife's expectations. I highly recommend Copper State Kitchen for your personal culinary experience to celebrate your special occasions.

You will NOT be disappointed. For my wedding in Oracle in April this year, Blue House Catering delivered fresh and delicious fare that went beyond expectations. For my wedding I wanted Mexican-style food that was locally sourced and original. I wanted to wow my guests with something amazing, but I also had a budget. In addition, I wanted vegetarian food that even meat eaters would love. We had delicious appetizers, the highlight being grilled shrimp on a jicama shell! So delicious and creative. For the main course there was black bean salad, green salad with jamaica dressing, chicken molé, vegetarian stuffed grilled poblanos, spanish style fish, and crepe enchiladas filled with veggies and butternut squash. Seriously the food was amazing! Guests were gushing about it and asked for Ron's info to cater their own events. My favorites were the chicken molé and crepe enchiladas. Contact Ron now!

I won't drop any names, but Dana had cooked for several A-list celebrities recently. Anyways, I accepted a last minute invitation from my brother to attend a 'cooking class.' It was a private class at our friend Ron's House. There were nine guests. I wasn't sure what to expect going in, but I was really impressed! Chef Dana is extremely personable and fun to learn from. She offers professional cooking classes held in the comfort of your own kitchen (or that of a friend in my case). She can accommodate dietary interests or special requests, including healthy, low-fat, non-fat, organic cuisine. She also does wine pairing, specialty food and drinks. Over the course of 2 hours with Dana, our group learned and participated in preparing tilapia in papillote, arugula salad, couscous all the while hanging out with friends, drinking wine, and noshing on appetizers. The food was delicious and healthy, and we had a blast! I know - you're wondering how much all of this cost, right? Less than $30 per person! I'm not joking! It would have been more $$ had we dined out at a restaurant, I'm sure! If you are interested in learning to cook gourmet meals in the comfort of your own kitchen, call Dana - she is fantastic. As a matter of fact, I'm going to program her into my cell phone right now!

Dana is a private chef who is very approachable and collaborative. For this event, my friend wanted to be very involved in menu planning and jointly work on preparation. Dana, my friend and I had several planning phone calls in which Dana was very open and willing to customize the evening based on the wishes of my friend. Dana is flexible and will either use food/ingredients that you purchase, or she can purchase them on your behalf (only billing you for the cost of goods + her hourly rate for her time). My friend did a lot of prep work for the dinner party, so that when Dana and her sous chef (her husband) arrived, they hit the ground running. I think they were only there for 3-4 hours total. Dana organized a bruschetta bar for mingling and appetizers, and then a seated 3-course dinner served family style. Dana and her husband served and helped to clear dishes, and also cleaned all the pots/pans/etc. before they left, which was right before we enjoyed dessert. I would definitely recommend Chef Dana if you want to host a special dinner in your home. Her hourly rate is very reasonable for what I would expect a private chef to charge for cooking in-home, and because you can save money by providing the food/ingredients yourself, Dana makes the "glamour" of a private chef quite accessible!

This company is not short on communication and both the owner, Eric, and manager, Carson, ensured that our experience was wonderful and our expectations were exceeded. The catering menu itself is large (15 pages long) and diverse with many different options including passed appetizers, dinner packages, carving stations, and much more. We opted for the delivery service and ordered about ten Heavy Hor's d'Oeuvres from the À la carte menu items for our party of 45. Delivery was on time and set up was as expected. While I would not recommend the Crab & Cheese Rangoons (overcooked and dry) nor the Bruschetta (Crostini toasts were too hard/crunchy), most of our menu choices were delicious: - Mini Cuban Sandwiches (amazing) - Mini Beef Wellingtons with Creamy Horseradish (amazing) - Thai Peanut Chicken Skewers (excellent) - Flatbread with pulled pork and caramelized onions (excellent) - Marinated Grilled Vegetable Display (excellent) - Firecracker Shrimp Spring Rolls (good, but a bit overcooked/crunchy) [- Tomato bruschetta itself was fresh and flavorful] Overall a great first experience ... This company was very easy to work with and we will use them again for future events.
