First I wish read this review before went there !! I purchased a 2007 Yamaha boat from Big D Marine via Mike Calhoun (Sales Manager). During this time, I had taken the boat home, in good faith that the boat was in good working condition (as verbalized by staff, reassuring to me that the boat was ready to be used in its current state). This is especially important, as i was never given the opportunity to test drive the boat on the water, despite requests to do so.
Once I took the boat home, brought it to the lake to test the boat out, i was disappointed to find that the boat had many issues and was not fit to be used as indicated by the dealership and not safe to use for There was further disappointment, when confronting the dealership, specifically Mike, ( mike tell me take the boat to somewhere to fix it for me , are you serious I bought a boat from you 30k and I have to fix it to the next day to somewhere else )
First they told me we test the boat and is ready for water , how u test the boat when the boat have big hole in ? You can put the boat in water 2 minutes will get flood , when I told them that he said sorry I get busy and I don't get chance do test drive... what's my fault be with out boat and lose my trading when was is in good condition ? It's my fault I went to you big d
that he had been pushed off to speak with the owner of the boat, taking no responsibility for the subpar condition of the boat that was sold to Me. Multiple attempts were made to discuss the issues at hand, but time and time again, Mike did not address the issue, refused to speak with me e and kept deflecting responsibility to others. I had specifically emailed him requesting he contact to determine a solution to this problem. I was in agreement via phone in a three way call with Mike, myself that he wanted to return the boat, and take his boat back. Mike refused to discuss the issue while I was a third party on the phone, despite having been given authorization to speak with me.
Eventually Mike was given the "broken" boat back by Me leaving with no boat that he was in possession of. At this point, the dealership has the responsibility to ensure the products they are selling, are in fact in working condition. Mike was at times inconsistent with his responses, and flaky. There should never be question when a dealership is selling a product of that size, that their duty to sell working products should have to be questioned. Not only was Mike dodging resolving the issue on multiple occasions, but he also was cannot be trusted based off multiple inconsistent comments he made.
As a consumer, you want to believe that you can trust businesses from which we all purchase products from. It should never have become a problem when i wanted to return the boat that appeared to be a "lemon. I been trying fix this with nice way but been 30 days they ignore everything I'm in processing file lawsuits against big d I will screenshot of the lawsuit and post here and everywhere so customers beware of this kind a dealership , they violated the Texas Deceptive Trade Practice law. read more
