Long post alert!!!! Sooooo let's talk about toxic work…read moreenvironments. Unitech Training Academy has to be one of the WORST places to work or attend (don't send yourself or your child to that school). Why here's a few reasons, 1 they haven't had a Pharmacy tech teacher since April and students didn't have books for 3 weeks but they still charged them $15,895.00 for their program and dropped students(while still charging) for not showing up to a class that didn't have an instructor, mind you I was always told to never tell a prospect that the program didn't have an instructor but I definitely still had to fill the class. The EKG/Phlebotomy teacher wasn't even Certified and preyed on the younger students. Mind you that class also cost $15,895.00. I would often voice my concerns about this because it was my job to get the students to enroll and it was also my job to make $15,895.00 make sense (which it doesn't but I did a great job making it). When I voiced it they would gaslight me and add that my job is to enroll nothing else. Well since I felt bad about convincing these individuals to join a school with VERY outdated equipment (no hospital uses the machines they teach with), no teacher and very poor leadership (NO ONE knows who the director is because she stays locked in her office and she doesn't show any concern about them at all) I would only do the bare minimum. I was then written up and was told that I had to the 12th of September to set 30 appointments a week (mind you I don't even get 30 leads a week) or I would be terminated. I started mentally preparing myself to be fired because in 2 years I was the 4th admissions rep so I knew my time was coming. Well that time came today not only was I TERMINATED for not meeting the requirements by the 4th and not the 12th. They terminated me with no paperwork. When I asked the Director for the paperwork, as well as the paperwork from my 2 previous write ups that they never gave me no matter how many times I requested it, I was told she had to check and see if she could give me what I am asking for. I'm not upset at all that I was let go because I have been preparing myself to be removed because I was beginning to question character and integrity and God removed me from where I truly didn't want to be. But the manner in which they unprofessionally went about the matter is what led me to this post. Now that I can freely speak don't waste your time or money at that school! You will have to use Pell grant, subsidize and unsubsidized loans to pay for it and you will get NO REFUND check... save your coins and go to Delgado or Nunez or a free program

I would not recommend this school if you are planning to transfer the college credits. I've been…read moreasking them for over two months to send a copy of my transcripts and these people just aren't sending it. I don't even own money.

It guided ships along the lake to the canal that accessed downtown NOLA. For most of my life, it was just kind of there. According to the historical timeline on their website, the lighthouse was owned and in use by the Coast Guard until 1999....I'm not sure about that in use part. But it was one of the many structures damaged in the aftermath of Katrina. It was actually knocked off it's base and landed at an angle. There was a huge fund raising effort to rebuild the lighthouse and the create the education center. When I passed by today, the lighthouse was gated off and closed but it's still pretty to look at from the road...or from the Point. Now I'll just have to make it back to see the inside exhibit.

The food and drinks were placed on tables on the concrete Lighthouse Breezeway (under the raised lighthouse which is raised about one story above the ground). The guests mingled in the Fountain Plaza where the tables and chairs were set up and could stroll along the Lakefront Lawn to look over at the Point and the boats sailing by. The weather held and people had a good time. Restroom facilities are in the Education Center/Gift Shop. The event ground is wheelchair friendly with ramps to get to the different levels.

My goal upon arrival was to gather information on the Joy center where she requested to attend school. As I arrived I spoke to the receptionist who directed me to speak with the administrative director whom then informed me that my sister would Not be allowed to attend the school do to the limited space since she DID NOT graduate from St. Michael Special School. I explained that my sister did not graduate because Hurricane Katrina took place her senior year. She received her class ring, but like many others we had to relocate due to the fact that our home was destroyed. Unfortunately, the director just stated, " I'm sorry but that's our rules". I believe the company should make an exception for students who had to leave their school on those terms. That was not the student choice. It was by force due to the natural disaster. At the least, this school should offer a waiting list and make exceptions under these conditions. Many parents sacrificed years of paying tuition to ensure their child would receive a exceptional education only to find that upon return to the school they loved the door would be shut in there face. This has been a very displeasing experience and I will be placing her in another program. I CAN NO LONGER RECCOMEMED THIS PROGRAM TO OTHERS ON THE GROUNDS THAT THERE IS NO CONSIDERATION FOR PEOPLE WHO HAD TO REBUILD AND START OVER! P.S St. Michael Special School can accept thousands in tuition, but the minute you don't graduate (due to personal reasons are natural disaster) you are officially abandoned and will not be able to continue to the adult joy center program. I find this to be extremely distasteful and upsetting. Resolution: Be considerate of those who were about to graduate but weren't able due to the natural disaster. As a catholic organization it is a duty to show compassion to others while being considerate of their needs.
