Their teachers are exceptional. My 4 children attended from Kindergarten and graduated from JCCS all have degrees and professions that they love. My youngest Grand child is in the ELC program and loves it. She looks forward to school everyday. Within the first week at 2 years old she was speaking almost complete sentences, she's 3 now and it's amazing what the ELC program has done. The faculty, is caring and the atmosphere is family like. My children have friends they made in 3rd and 4 grade and are still friends with. As far as bullying I think every school has that to an extent but JCCS WILL NOT put up with it. They'll be no slap on the wrist. Their goal is to turn these children out into the world with the skills, and morals they need to make a good life for theirselves in the professions that they choose and to have compassion and love for others.

It doesn't seem to adhere to any of the newest research on classroom functionality or how children learn best. The inside playroom has a tile floor and few mats or pads to catch the inevitable falls. All in all it looks like this annex was an afterthought and that it doesn't receive the same attention or resources that the big school does.

St. Christopher Early Education Center Daycare is not keeping up with the new Childcare standards…read morethat many parents today are embracing. Some of the staff is qualified for their positions, others are there for a paycheck. Children are allowed to go there while ill with contagious infections (Hand, foot, mouth disease, RSV, fevers) with little done to get parents to keep them at home until risk of contagion is over. There are parents who do comply, but it only takes one to keep spreading illnesses. I thought it was a law that NO infant/child could remain in school/daycare with fever/contagious illness?! In any event, there is little enforcement. The administration is slow to respond to some staffers recommendations when it comes to the welfare of infants/children. I take issue with the fact that parents are responsible for bringing solid food (when applicable) for their infants/toddlers. That has been to the detriment of at least one baby in their care. Administration seems ill equipped to handle issues of child neglect or inappropriate parenting. They forget they are mandated reporters, preferring to rely on family pediatricians to catch issues. That's all well and good *if* pediatricians know about the issue(s). Sounds like it's more important to keep revenue than intervene on behalf of an infant/child. I gave two stars simply because some of the staff really try to ensure the well being and safety of all of the children.

Cheer. For a long time I didn't know what the big deal was. I mean, it's just so easy to undervalue…read morethe sport until your 12 year old says she wants to become a cheerleader. To my surprise she seemed very excited about the idea which made me excited to get her started. I was open to it except I had no idea where to begin. "Who do I call? Is she too old? Ugh, how much will this cost?" Personally, I have no prior experience with cheerleading, whatsoever. Heck, I don't even know any cheerleaders and I consider myself a damn good Saints fan. I can WHO-DAT and holler but to get up there and cheer, well, it just looks so easy anyone should be able to do it, right? Wrong! I was so wrong. LOL To know my daughter and her ambition level I knew not just any cheer team would do. You see, I have a confession. I was at a loss. My daughter is very much a beginner and where does one go at this stage of the game? I was stuck at the, "I don't-know-what-I'm-doing", stage of the game. It just seemed hopeless especially since I wasn't getting any return calls or emails. And then after reaching out to the few teams I did try to get a hold of (and it's not easy), I got an email from Fran inviting us to check out a class and reassuring me not to worry that my daughter would be fine and no matter what level she is she would manage at her own pace. Whew! Now that the pressure was off we went to the first class. That was just a few weeks ago. And I must take this opportunity to compliment her coaches (that's right more than one coach, there are more than enough instructors) they are so knowledgeable and patient and even complimentary. In the little time my girl has been training with Fran, she has progressed so fast. I knew we were in the right place when I saw Fran grab a large rubber band so that my daughter would keep her hands at the right distance when attempting a back bend (you have to focus on not dropping that rubber band wrapped around opposite thumbs). LOL It's those tips that I appreciate so much. Fran is always paying attention to each and every girl who is training there. She makes sure to critique in a constructive way. And let me mention, these girls are HAPPY to be there. Even the coaches. It's such a warm environment that I would recommend this program to any girl or boy who desires to learn cheer in a competitive nature or even train to try out at any school. I never thought cheer was so serious. (DYNASTY CRESCENT CITY CHEER is just that good that you seek them out to train you for your junior high or even high school cheer team try-outs. I am so impressed and happy with my decision. The best part of competition tuition includes a trip to the beach for the grand finale at the end of competition season. I wish I would have started my girl with Fran years ago! Just to paint a picture: Inside Kids Sports location, very clean and no sign of "stinky feet" smell. New Equipment and lots of conditioning involved. Clean restrooms and waiting area inside the "gym". Bring a light jacket with you as the AC is cranked up for the athletes and coaches.
