Most barbers here are pretty good. I've only had one guy do a bad job and don't think he is there anymore.

Sometimes change is good. Other times I guess not. For a week I had tried to call to see if I could get an appointment. Now granted I did call at 5pm on the days they close at 6, but maybe you should adjust the times. If you close at 6 and don't want walk in or appointments after a certain time, you have the power to do so. Either I look over that since I've been coming here for 8 years. And decided to do a walk in this morning (Sunday 7/30/23). The first barber said I should be good and didn't need to write my name down, however he forgot to mention that he had an appointment. So I would have to actually. Then he was having a conversation with a barber in the back who exclaimed loudly that people would just have to wait. Actually, no, people don't have to wait they can choose with their feet to not be in your establishment. Great years of service. Not sure what happened. I start with the pros: no wait, quick haircuts in/out, and friendly customer service The cons: my baby was crying and I told the barber is ok I'm pleased with the haircut we can stop and he continued while my baby was screaming and moving and now my baby has neck cuts. The barber did not stop nor apologized or recognized the cuts nor discounted the price. Not acceptable, especially after I had expressed my desire to stop the haircut. I understand the barber wanted to do a good haircut but if the parent says stop it means stop. I walked in with no appointment on a Sunday and was taken to a chair immediately. The shop is clean and well decorated with the NYC skyline and fo-brick. My Husband has been coming here since the Infamous "Cubano" was cutting hair over 10 years ago. Prices have went ridiculous yet the services went away, and when a barber asks what # guide you use we automatically know we are dealing with new amateur barber shop recruits that can't handle clippers and scissors without help. This shop used to be able to do it all. Each barber used to whip out a straight razor and cream to make the most straight and perfect lines, yet these new guys can't and don't do that anymore, and the owner who doesn't cut hair and is only focused on flashy wallpaper and chairs and higher prices with less personal detail. if you are going to do the same service as Fantastic Sams then why not charge $10 instead of $20 like they do for simple zero frills men's haircuts? read more

Just for a gentleman to walk in at 12:45 & get my 1 o'clock appointment. I booked my appointment at 9 am, worked an entire day & then the barber completely has no clue that he has an appointment at 1. Unprofessional as heck but thankfully a barber by the name of Luis could take me. A real cool dude appreciate him. He's the reason for the stars. This is a great barbershop, with great service and barbers. I've only gotten my hair cut here, since I've found them. You can have weekly/bi-weekly appointment's or just walk in. You're always going to end up with a great cut, no matter who's chair you sit down in. They have snacks while waiting, TV, movies, magazines and a great environment. I got greeted when I walked and that was it , place is very nice decorated .My barber made no attempt to talk to me or even say anything to me, but he spend the whole time screaming across the room next to my ear having a conversation with other barbers, it would better If they concentrate on their customers not their coworkers. This is still the best barber shop in the area. They have expanded into two new locations, also in St. Cloud. I haven't been to one of the new locations because I like the original. Just an FYI it will save you to bring cash. They recently added a one-dollar fee for all credit card purchases and Sundays are now cash only (all day). IMO it is still absolutely worth it. read more

Walked in to Big City today for the first time. I have to say the place lived up to all the good reviews I had read. I was greeted by everyone as I walked in and was informed of the wait time since I did not have an appointment. All the barbers were busy, which to me means they are all good at what they do. I waited for about 30min which didn't seem long as there was a lot of people already there waiting when I arrived. Time flew by with the two movies they were showing on the big flat screen TVs. My barber Ron was friendly with me but didn't talk my ear off, which I appreciate. He listened to what I wanted, made good suggestions and had a good attention to detail. He even checked with me every few minutes to make sure I was happy with how my fade and beard shapeup was coming along. Overall he did a great job! I also have to say that even though the shop was busy and all the barbers were working nonstop at no point was it chaotic nor loud and obnoxious as other shops can get. Even with everything going on, it was very relaxed and laid back environment which I enjoy when getting a hair cut. Overall it was the most pleasant experience I've had in a while and I will definitely be coming back! I highly recommend anyone of any age to stop in at Big City Barbers in St Cloud! read more

They don't promote themselves through social media. They are recognized by word of mouth. The two stars are for their skills, which are undeniable. Everyone I saw came out with awesome cuts. The missing three stars, however, are for their horrible customer service skills. I came in because we moved here recently and are looking for a new barber for my son and husband. I signed in on the sheet and waited. And continued waiting for an hour while people that had come in way after me had already been taken. I thought they had appointments but then I saw them signing in and being called before me. No one even checked the sign in sheet, they just pointed or nodded at someone and off they went. After sitting there for over an hour with a toddler who was understandably getting bored, someone finally asked if I was there for a haircut. I'm sorry but why else would I be sitting here? I was pointed to a barber who had a free chair. I explained to him that this is the first time my son was getting a buzz so I wasn't sure which number clipper to use. He was wearing a mask so it was very hard to communicate with him but we picked a head for the clipper. I told him to please not do anything fancy, don't bother with the cape, my son is going to get nervous and just keep trying to rip it off. He not only put a cape on him but also some wrap thing around his neck. I'm sorry but what two year old would stand such a thing? So I ripped i took it off my son so he wouldn't choke himself trying to do it. The gentleman started the hair cut and of course my son was upset but nothing too crazy, he has had four haircuts already. Until the barber, without any warning turned a blow dryer on presumably to blow the little hair clipping off the back. He did this without saying anything though so not only was my son startled but I was crouched down helping to calm my son and I got all of the hair blown into my face, eyes, and mouth! I was attempting to help the barber by turning my sons head the way he needed but I couldn't even tell when he was talking with the mask! When he was done and I picked him up off the chair,I was attempting to calm him down and relax him and tell him we we're all done when all of a sudden here comes a giant brush with baby powder on it! I had to ask the gentleman three times what the price was because I couldn't hear even the sound of his voice! I understand toddler hair cuts are difficult but my son has gotten many haircuts a nd has never been so upset. He cried until we are pulling out of the parking lot. I writing because I'm very disappointed with your barber Rusha. I went in today to get a haircut and sadly enough I got a haircut from him, well, it was more like a butchering. I asked for a low fade, and I felt like a asked him for a high n tight. My first clue should have been when butchered a little boys blowout, but I tried to give him a chance... BIG MISTAKE... Just writing because he really puts a hurting on your business and needless to say, today was my first and last time there. I guess that's what I get for being lazy and not wanting to drive to my regular barber. You're doing yourself a disfavor by having such a horrible barber in your shop.
