You definitely get what you pay for, and the pricing makes it a good option, especially for families or bigger groups just looking to see a movie without spending a lot. The seats aren't reclining, but they are comfortable. They are on the narrow side though, and they automatically fold up. That actually made it a bit tricky for my 6-year-old since she's light enough that the seat would fold back up on her. I had to grab a booster just to add some weight so it would stay down, which was kind of annoying. Food prices are what you'd expect for a movie theater. They only have Pepsi products, and the only energy drink option was Celsius. Customer service felt pretty cold, like employees weren't exactly happy to be there, which stood out. I got nachos, and they're served in what looks like a hot dog box. They load chips into both sides and give you one container of cheese, which wasn't my favorite setup. The tray itself also felt a bit flimsy, so I had to hold both ends to keep it from folding. The pretzel was a good size, but they now charge extra for dips, which was new for us since we hadn't been charged for a first dip before. On the positive side, they had a lot of Icee flavors, which the kids really enjoyed. The theater itself was clean, which I appreciated, and the soda had a good amount of fizz. The snack line can get pretty long, so it's worth arriving early if you plan on buying food.

This was a great spot to stretch our legs and walk around looking at all the quaintness! There was a lasso for people to try and hook onto horns. There's also a small petting zoo. Cheryl and Bobby were not only fantastic hosts but also an amazing addition to the celebration. Before we arrived, Cheryl and I stayed in constant communication gathering all our individual preferences, preparing us for the weather, and overall providing us with some helpful tips to make the weekend super special. Their home is immaculate, filled with fun activities, remarkable views, and delicious food! Cheryl and Bobby made us feel right at home with their genuine and upbeat personalities. We immediately nestled in to the second level where we began serving drinks at the Tiki bar, taking turns in the ULTIMATE massage chair, while the boys played a game of pool and the girls had a photoshoot outside. At the end of the night, I was lured upstairs for the biggest surprise of my life!!! Rose petals leading out to the lit up gazebo with stunning mountains in the background I found my boyfriend on one knee. After an instant "YES - PUT THE RING ON" I found our friends and hosts filming the whole thing for our forever memories. As if it couldn't get any better - Cheryl prepared a beautiful homemade dinner for us to enjoy. And Finally we ended the night with Top Gun and dessert in the movie theater. The fresh hot popcorn, candy, and snacks were better than going to the big theater. Chairs were super cozy with extra pillows and blankets if needed and reclined for comfort. We all agreed that if we had to choose between a big theater and this, the The Place to Be is hands down the winner! There is also a picturesque view of the lake and mountain. It was already a bummer with the last ownership changed and the prices of food and drinks increased, but now to see that there is no more special on Tuesdays and the tickets are a whopping $15.50 for a very outdated theater is so disappointing. There is no one in Big bear midweek so this was a great deal for locals, sad to say we'll he finding another Tuesday activity.
