    Lobster roll and brussel sprouts
    Kevin W.

I have been craving lobster rolls for a while and could not find any near me. Little did I know, there was a familiar place right under my nose. The place is in the middle of a strip mall. The entire complex looks new. Parking is a little tight but it was easy to find a space. Not many servers were working when I came in. My server was nice but he was working the entire area himself. I sat at the bar but the server was running all over the place. He was even serving outside. I ordered the Lobster roll the brussel sprouts. Both were delicious. I liked the butter that came with the lobster roll. I am not sure what liquid the brussel sprouts were floating in but it was ok.

The entire visit to Big B's exceeded my expectations. I visited during Happy Hour! It was not that crowded which I loved. We were sat immediately. Our waitress was extremely kind. For appetizers we had the fried pickles and hush puppies. These shareable appetizers were $5 each during Happy Hour (4P-6P). We also ordered the Happy Hour $5 Margaritas. You get a lot of "punch" with Happy Hour cocktails. For the entree the waitress allowed me to make modifications because I am a vegetarian. The Cajun Shrimp Pasta with no shrimp was amazing! For dessert I ordered the Salted Caramel Cheesecake. I would have ordered a full cheesecake if I could because it was great. Our waitress checked on us regularly and make sure our water was filled the entire visit. The atmosphere was casual and fun. Please go during Happy Hour for great food and drinks and not a lot of volume. The real volume of customers came in after Happy Hour for the dinner rush.

Trout with spinach and brussel sprouts

We were in south Atlanta around lunchtime but I wanted good seafood before our flight 8 hrs later so I drove up to north part with my work colleague to try this spot. We were the first customers since we arrived 9 mins early before opening. After looking over the menu, it's fairly easy to order a few items and still come in under $50 which is my goal on most business trips. I tried an iced tea and the North Carolina trout. For my 2 veggies, I chose the spinach and brussel sprouts. My colleague hates brussel sprouts, so this was yet another opportunity to annoy him and eat them in front of him. Trout - nice presentation, comes with 2 filets, buttery spinach, brussel sprouts are just average, not crispy. My colleague ordered the fried catfish plate since he's big on catfish and pretty much ate everything but the plate. The interior is fairly casual with a nautical theme for sure, but in a semi upscale kind of way. There were not many customers during our visit here, which was sort of surprising based on the quality of the food. This is definitely a decent option for good seafood in ATL, it's just out of the way for us as our clients are typically in the southern part of the city.

We came in around 4pm after an already long day since we'd been up since 4am because of our flight. The restaurant wasn't packed on a Friday at 4pm but around 5pm, people started pouring in. We started out with the shrimp & andouille sausage gumbo and crispy fried calamari. The shrimp & andouille sausage gumbo comes in one size and it's just the right amount. I kid you not, the gumbo was perfect. Your taste buds will be firing on all cylinders after you put a spoonful into your mouth and taste the perfect seasoning of the soup. The okra was soft and delicious and the rice was cooked very well. After squeezing the lemon out all over the calamari, we dug in and it was great. The sauce that it came with was sweet chili; however, it didn't really add anything to the dish for me so I ate most of it without dipping into it. I ordered the Cajun shrimp pasta and my partner ordered the fried fish and shrimp platter. The Cajun shrimp pasta was creamy, cheesy, a little spicy, and seasoned well. You just have to remove the tails on the shrimp if you don't eat them (which I don't so I removed them all and then dug into the dish). I think it needed some finishing salt, but I didn't add anything. I wanted to try the dish as they prepared it. I let my partner have the fried fish all to himself, but I definitely tried the fries and shrimp. The fried shrimp was cooked to perfection, so good and well-seasoned. The fries were a little salty and so good that you don't need ketchup to eat them. Overall, service was good and timely. Our waiter was excellent.

Subject: Honest Review of My Visit to Big B's Fish Joint - Roswell, GA Dear Big B's Management Team, I wanted to take a moment to share some feedback from my recent visit to your Roswell location. First, I'd like to start by complimenting your staff and environment. The atmosphere was very pleasant, we were seated immediately, and the wait staff was attentive, friendly, and welcoming. The noise level was minimal, which allowed for easy conversation, and the appetizers were a highlight--particularly the Bang Bang Shrimp, which was fresh and flavorful, and the gumbo, which I would honestly rank as world-class. However, the experience unfortunately declined when it came to the main course. I ordered the Grouper Fillet entrée ($36), and I've attached a photo for reference. The fish was noticeably overcooked and dry, and as someone who grew up on the Gulf Coast of Florida, I'm very familiar with the taste and texture of fresh grouper. This did not resemble grouper in flavor, texture, or appearance. When I politely raised this concern to the waitress, she brought it to the kitchen staff who refused to acknowledge the mistake. To further investigate, I used an AI-powered image recognition tool to analyze the fish and, consistent with my palate, the analysis confirmed the fish was not grouper but a different white fish altogether. Additional feedback: * Hush puppies were bland and lacked seasoning * Brussels sprouts were overcooked and mushy * Coleslaw was excellent and refreshing * Shrimp dishes were consistent in quality and taste After I brought up the issue with the entrée, I sensed a shift in tone and felt as though we were being rushed out, which only added to the disappointment. While I truly appreciated the atmosphere and the start of the meal, the lack of authenticity in the entrée, portion sizes relative to pricing, and the refusal to acknowledge a valid concern made the overall experience unsatisfactory. I'm giving the experience 2.5 stars and, unfortunately, I do not see myself returning. I hope this feedback is taken constructively--your restaurant has potential, and I'd love to see improvements made that match the promise of your atmosphere and starters.

Very quiet outdoor patio. Lots of shade areas and fans to keep you cool. I see lights for nighttime which may be a cute date night or chill night outside. I enjoyed the mahi mahi sandwich! Very flavorful! The hush puppies were ok. They just need a little more crab meat. Also enjoyed the beach Bellini. The service was also pleasant!

I decided to drive out here because I was looking for an oyster happy hour. I was there on a Wednesday afternoon right at four when happy hour started and it was pretty slow so I got a table. The oysters were good and hush puppies were also on the happy hour menu and I love hush puppies, but They were not to my liking. I also decided to get the chili shrimp appetizer, which was absolutely fantastic. The creamy spice sauce on top was delicious and the shrimp was very crispy. I think I would come back to get oysters again and definitely that shrimp. It's a very casual place but I think people enjoyed chilling and chatting at the bar.

It's a yes for me! I am in pure LIKES! -lol The place is very cute and coastal chic! We came for Sunday's Brunch and it did not disappoint! I had the catfish and jumbo shrimp platter, which was fried to perfection. The fish batter was very seasoned and tasty. I exchange my coleslaw for broccoli and my french fries for grits .....all very yummy. I also took a to go dessert, which was the salted caramel cheesecake, it was truly divine, this place is definitely good for a large group. They have outdoor seating and a very spacious dining area, parking at times may be a problem because it is a shared lot with a few different businesses, but I would definitely recommend this place. 5 out of 5 stars!

    Oysters

I was craving raw oysters and was drawn in by their daily happy hour from 4-7. Unfortunately, their flavors left a lot to to be desired. Parking: Free parking lot right outside of their establishment is plentiful and convenient. Service: Service was good. It wasn't very busy Sunday afternoon when I went so I was helped by the bartender. She was very kind and attentive throughout service. Food: I ordered a dozen oysters ($1.50/oyster during happy hour), a margarita ($5 during happy hour), and the crab hush puppies -- something I'd never had before but sounded enticing. For some reason, everything seemed to lack flavor. The crab hush puppies tasted nothing like crab. Just dough balls with specs of peppers. I did enjoy what tasted like an old bay remoulade that they give you to dip them in. The oysters, not sure if it was because they're out of season, didn't taste like much. Not very sweet. Not very salty. The cocktail sauce even lacked flavor. It was strange. The margarita was pretty good, lots of sour mix. I'm not sure if I came in at a bad time or just ordered the wrong things. Hopefully the other menu items pack a bigger punch!

Semi skeptical when my friend suggested this place for a double date night. Big B's and Fish Joint don't seem to jive to me when it comes to a place that sounds appealing to your tastebuds. Well, I was wrong. This is a pretty big place (looks small from the parking lot) and they have outdoor seating. It's more upscale than it sounds and the prices reflect that. I will say that the booth we sat in could've used some cushioned seats but that's my only complaint. The watermelon salad with mint, balsamic glaze, feta, and cherry tomatoes was ball dropping good. A tad more mint would've been perfection. My drink, the French 75, hit the spot. And the Matua Sauvignon Blanc paired great with my entree. I ordered the blackened Louisiana catfish, which came out very grits and greens. Damn thing was perfection! Mmm, I certainly hit the tastebud jackpot on my meal. I will say that my friend ordered the clam chowder and was not a fan. The music here, mostly Yacht Rock style, was a pure joy. As for me, everything was perfect for my meal! Highly recommend!

One of the pieces of fish I got was about 3 ounces! The other piece was 2 ounces!

The prices and the portions! They charged me $24 for 6 ounces of fish with rice and cold slaw! The sizes were fine but there was hardly any fish! You can get way more fish at Applebees! They want $31 for salmon and you can get way more at Carrabba's for $24. Well this is my first and last time!

We came on a Saturday at 6:30. Our reservation was at 7:00 so we were a little early. We wanted to wait for a booth as they couldn't put a table together for a party of 5. Once seated, our server greeted us quickly and we placed orders for beverages and apps. My margarita was good and strong although they didn't have any flavors for the margarita. Everyone seemed to enjoy their drink. We loved the crab hush puppies, the sweet chili shrimp and calamari. My meal was the Cajun shrimp linguine. It was just okay. This was a nice spot. I loved the sizes of their booths, very comfortable. When we arrived, we had just missed happy hour (4:30-6:30 PM). We'd come back for the apps alone.

This had been on our list of steakhouses to try for quite some time, so we came in with high expectations. Unfortunately, the experience fell well short of them. I started with a $20 smoked Old Fashioned, a cocktail I order regularly at steakhouses. When it arrived, it was nearly clear in color and tasted either heavily watered down or extremely light on bourbon. After I mentioned it, the bartender kindly offered to remake it. While I appreciated the gesture, the replacement took roughly 10 minutes to arrive and ultimately seemed to go in the opposite direction--essentially bourbon and bitters with no noticeable sweetness from sugar or simple syrup. Neither drink felt remotely worth the price, and by the time the second one arrived, much of the meal had already progressed. Things continued downhill when our $35 Crab Louis Salad arrived. The portion of crab was surprisingly small, but more concerning was the fact that multiple gnats or fruit flies were hovering around and landing on the salad while we were trying to eat it. To make matters worse, during the meal I looked down and noticed what appeared to be an old piece of bread and a French fry on the floor beneath our table, seemingly left over from a previous service. It raised questions about the overall attention to cleanliness and detail. What should have been a memorable celebration turned into a disappointing experience. Between the poorly executed cocktails, insects around the food, delayed service, and cleanliness concerns, this visit was a major letdown. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but for the prices being charged, the experience simply did not match the expectations.

The menu was plentiful with great choices and it's honestly a whole lot of food! Drinks: This is the only thing I'd say wasn't my favorite. The drink I got was just okay to me, I likely could've done without it.

Food: 5/5 We decided to try a leisurely lunch. The menu is not large, but it has enough variety to be interesting. Everything we tried was delicious. The smoked salmon appetizer portion was large, but the best part was the great flavor. I can see why this choice has been on the menu for years. The Vidalia onion soup will be a surprise for the non-Georgians who expect it to be similar to a savory beef broth like French onion soup. Georgia's onions from the Vidalia area are sweet and tasty enough to carry the soup without the help of a meat broth and the green pesto sauce offers a nice additional touch. The salmon on fresh salad was done perfectly. The panka-crusted cod with mashed potatoes and spinach was outstanding. Both were seasoned so lightly that the true flavors shone through. The portions were generous enough that dessert at the time would have been too much, but others can do as we did and take home one of the dessert choices. Next time we plan to try their sandwiches which looked yummy at other tables. Service : 5/5 Service was excellent from the pleasant greeting, through the entire meal. Our server, Clayton, couldn't have been more helpful with the menu, as well as being very efficient and amiable. He made sure our food was served promptly and our beverages glasses were full, and our requests were met quickly. Facility: The facility lends itself to the riverside experience from the canoe in the entryway ceiling to the flowers and bird feeders just beyond the patio tables. The white tablecloth ambiance informs you that this isn't a fast-food experience. There are tents set aside in a more private are of the garden as a lovely venue for special events Location : This isn't a quick roadside stop next to a 6-lane highway. Even though the restaurant is convenient to dine in an Atlanta suburb, the roads to the restaurant wind and meander for a short distance through one of the prettiest neighborhoods, with a canopy of large old trees, with lovely fences, hedges, and gates lining the road. There is courteous valet parking at the front door. The restaurant is not inexpensive but it is well worth the prices paid, in our opinion.

They split our appetizers into two plates which made it easier for my partner and I to eat. The beet salad goes really well with the crispy cracker they offer with their bread!

The seafood (especially the lobster) was decent, but the price wasn't cheap considering the overall experience. The ambiance was indeed nice, leaning towards a high-end restaurant style, but it also felt a bit too "commercial" and lacked a distinctive character. The service was generally okay, but it noticeably slowed down when it got crowded.

It is always something that I anticipate because I know no matter what they serve it will be delicious. And this last visit did not disappoint. The capitol grill is a gold standard in high quality service and impeccable food preparation and presentation. The calamari was tender and tasty as an appetizer, as well as the prosciutto wrapped melted cheese and the crab cakes were fresh and light. The wedge salad as an option for first course was delicious with homemade blue cheese. They have several beef steak options, with bone as a filet. All different cuts that you may choose from. The lobster Mac was one of the better ones that I've had. And the service was spot on. You pay for what you get. This is not a cheap place, but if you're looking to impress a small group you can get a private room or at a table in the main dining room. No matter where you are, it will be a bit noisy. They have valet parking that is not automatically complimentary. I believe hosts of meetings get a few parking passes, otherwise it's just $10.
