I liked her, she was nice, but not helpful at all. Anything I talked about, she would simply tell me she was emailing me a worksheet. That was it. I could google worksheets and do them myself if I thought that was helpful. Not only that, but she cancelled my appointments last minute regularly. Then, I had to reschedule an appointment ONE TIME, and I get an email from Valera saying that I'm being "fired" from that therapist. LOL. They said I could contest it, but honestly it wasn't doing anything for me. Then I got a referral for a psychiatric nurse practitioner to talk about my ADHD diagnosis, and talk about starting medications. The NP was very nice, but she made some weird faces when I talked about certain things with ADHD. It let me know that she was going off her textbook knowledge of ADHD, and probably didn't do any kind of research into how people with ADHD struggle, especially when they are diagnosed late in life. She finally agreed to start me on medication, and then we went to telehealth appointments every 3 months to check in. Several times, I was scheduled for a telehealth appointment, and then on the day of my appointment, suddenly I didn't have one. Sending them messages is ridiculous, because it takes forever to get a response. One time, I scheduled a telehealth appointment during my 1 hour lunch break at work. I went out to my car to connect on my phone, and it wouldn't work at all. I never received a call from the NP to check in and see why I was late. I even tried to call the main Valera number, and the person who answered was like, "Oh, weird. let me try to call her and I'll get back to you." and nobody ever called me back. Apparently I wasn't even scheduled!!! Several times, the provider cancelled my appointment last minute, which is really frustrating considering I plan my entire day around that appointment. I have to do it at home, because the connection on my phone is unreliable. Then recently, I missed an appointment. It was an accident, and I thought it was scheduled for several hours later than it was. This was the first time I had missed an appointment. I received no message or call to check in. I messaged her and apologized, and asked to reschedule. I also asked for a refill of medication, and that message was ignored. I sent several medication refill requests through the app, and also messaged her 5 different times because I had now been out of my meds for several days. She finally, after 12 days since I initially messaged her, responded to tell me that she will be refusing to refill my medications because she hadn't seen me within the allotted timeframe, and I should contact my pcp for a refill for this month. Nothing about how SHE cancelled last time, and how she's always 10+ minutes late to my appointment, or how she tells me she will schedule something and then not actually do it. Thankfully, my pcp sent a refill for me the same day I put in the request. I am absolutely done with Valera. It's not worth it. I will find a different company, and see if my pcp will continue prescribing it for me in the meantime. You CANNOT mess with people's mental health like this, especially when it comes to controlled substances. For the week where I was without my meds, I was in danger of harming myself. I could not stay awake, and when I was awake, my suicidal ideation got so much worse. Absolutely bananas how they treat patients with mental illness when they are supposed to be HELPING US!

I have private insurance through my job and everything is covered except my copay. Since the very first visit at the Williamsburg location, I've been hooked. The staff was so nice and offered drinks as soon as i came in. Now i love the recess drinks. The doctors all have made me feel comfortable and I've had the best visits ever. Even Pap smears are comfortable. I've never been to a doctor and felt so listened to until now and each and every provider makes me feel that way. I've also gone to the soho location and enjoyed it As well. Lastly, since I've been listened to, I've felt much more comfortable during my monthly weight management appointments. I have lost over 50 pounds in a year with the help of the great providers and the referral to Nourish for nutrition. I can't wait to reach my goal of losing another 30lbs with the help of ask Tia.

It has taken me a year to be able to sit and write this down…read more Please be aware of Therapist Sarah Gompers at NY Creative Therapist. I had my then 5 yr old daughter start therapy at NY Creative Therapists located at William Vale building. Sarah Gompers - Drama Therapist was the therapist that was appointed to my daughter. After the 4th session in the span of 2 months (she cancelled couple of times so it didn't end up being weekly), she proceeded to call the CPS on me and my family after my child told a story of her being made to wash the dishes, and me hitting her in the chest. The therapy was at 6pm and by 9:30 pm the CPS was over my place, got my children (then 5&4) naked down to their underwear where the CPS took getting their photos. One by one swiftly taken into another room to be questioned privately away from myself. The CPS profusely apologized to me that this was happening because it was clear my kids have zero bruises and are well taken care of. She informed me she will have to contact their school in regards and that she will have to do random check ins. She stated it's really unfortunate that there are kids out there seriously being abused/neglected but sometimes their time gets wasted when trigger happy reporters think they are doing something making claims on situations like myself. It was one of the most horrific experiences in my life. An invasion of privacy for my kids and I because Sarah Gompers who's not only have known my kid for only 4 session in a span of 2 months could not communicate with my child to differentiate a made up story a child might be making up before calling the CPS. As adults with kids, by asking a little more questions, we can differentiate if the kid is making up a story or not and I would of expected a similar knowledge and skill set by a professional child therapist to be able to find of a story a 5 year old is saying is made up or is an absolute truth before calling the CPS but this therapist called the CPS on us. For Sarah Gompers to call the CPS, first step would have been to contact myself, an adult that is responsible for signing her up. That was not done. She then had to go thru 2 of her supervisors at NY Creative Therapist for approval to call the CPS. These 2 supervisors did not contact me not have ever met my daughter before. CPS came couple more times and the case was dismissed. I eventually got in touch with her supervisor where I did get an apology for Sarah Gompers conducts. There were so many steps that was not taken- such as myself being called right away, them not assessing the situation and approval going thru 2 supervisors without them knowing that I was not contacted. It's frightening to know there are people working with children who have some sort of power but they have no common knowledge to be able to differentiate a story that a kid may or may not be making up. As a therapist, talking and figuring out and assessing the situation before calling the CPS on a family would of been great. Unfortunately my kids were stripped to their underwears and had their photos taken at just because some therapist that has clearly no clue how to deal with kids could not communicate with the kids and adults involved. sarah Gompers really thought she was doing something by calling the CPS, instead she traumatized us from therapy. Please be aware of Sarah Gompers at NY Creative Therapist. She still works there and I never got a follow up to what was done to reprimand her actions or the lack of.

Making an appointment was quick and easy. Gray, who schedules the appointments, is kind and efficient. He was able to get me in the next day for psychology and psychiatry appointments. First off, the offices are brand new, modern, clean, and gorgeous. It's a very welcoming and bright environment which lends to a feeling of calm. I know it might sound small, but you wouldn't believe some of the mental healthcare offices I've seen (dusty, dark, dirty, is that a cat?!). They have filtered water and green tea (my fave) in the lobby area, which is a nice touch, because I talk a LOT. Momma needs her juice. Dr. Roy is an intelligent, understanding, and accomplished psychiatrist who takes his time getting to know you. He really listens, thoroughly explains any questions you may have, and has genuine concern for your well-being. He will prescribe you the necessary medications, that work with your body and lifestyle, and give you in-depth instructions on how they should be taken. Dr. Olivia Sussman is my therapist and she's basically an angel. I've never met a psychologist more kindhearted and empathetic. Dr. S has gone above and beyond to help me when I'm in crisis, and worked with me when my finances suffered, to create a treatment plan that is cost-effective for me without sacrificing the care I need. She's trustworthy, patient, and effective--I truly believe she's invested in my mental health journey. If you want a doctor who will fight for you, even when you feel you can't fight for yourself, she's the doctor to choose.
