Here's why: 1) Space: The outside if unassuming, but once you go inside, you see each floor is one big open space. The building has several floors with fast elevators that take you between the floors. True to a NYC building, there's an amazing rooftop at the top making for a great cocktail reception space. 2) Food: Every meal was amazing starting with a feast of sliders. There were beef, crab, tofu, any type of slider for every diet and preference. Snacks were changed throughout the event from a pretzel wall to a donut wall. Better for you options included veggies and a pickle jar. The rooftop reception had bite sized appetizers from small hamburgers in a fancy black box to kebabs. Everything was so good! They also provided quality coffee throughout and Coca-Cola products. 3) Service: The staff clearly take their jobs seriously. They are hard working, not intrusive, and run the event so well. 4) Location: It's just south of Hell's Kitchen close to the Hudson River. Easy to walk to and/or take the subway. 5) Vibes: It's an industrial design with lots of open pipes, etc. It's very Instagram worthy! If you want to wow your guests at an event, book Hudson Mercantile.

Props also due to the amazing catering crew this year (2022.) From the absolute doll of a barista, to the attentive gentlemen at the catering counter, they couldn't have taken better care of us and our visiting customers. The space itself is bright, setup is easy, even on the 6th floor, and the building is in a great location for those weary of the Javits hustle. Can't wait to go back next year!

Carlann went above and beyond to make sure I, my family, and my bridal party were well taken care of; she even investigated what had happened to a family member's flight when we hadn't heard from them. We also met with Jen who has a wonderful personality coupled with high expertise. Briana and Ozzie from Lorenzo's were so kind and patient during our rehearsal dinner that ran late. Michael, our maitre'd made sure our reception ran like clockwork. Jackie was the MOST amazing bridal attendant; anything I needed she anticipated and had ready quickly. I definitely recommend holding an event at Nicotra's ballroom or Above! The package is competitively priced and you will certainly have an amazing experience.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Lorenzo's, our cocktail hour in the Trevi Garden, and reception in the Persimmon Room. We had attended a wedding at Nictora's a few years before planning ours, and we were so impressed that it made our venue search very easy. I'm happy to say that the team consistently delivers on great food, service, and atmosphere. Our guests are still talking about the food being some of the best they've had at a wedding, also complimenting the uniqueness of the venue. Jennifer Finch, our planner, kept everything organized and running smoothly - she was extremely willing to work with us on little details, provided helpful and insightful answers to questions, and kept us feeling calm on the day of the wedding. While Nicotra's provides the full package, there was enough customization available that things really felt ours. She's a natural. Our bridal attendant, another Jennifer, also went above and beyond - she was friendly, helpful, professional, and made sure we were FED and comfortable at all times. Our Maitre'd Matt was also amazing! Took time to ensure everything was to our liking, was very helpful and kind to guests, and was overall adaptable. The entire FOH staff was excellent, honestly - they made our celebration so much more special. To cap it all off, the Nicotras themselves stopped by to say hello to us and check in on guests - what a personal touch! Something that you often miss out on with a ballroom wedding are beautiful grounds - not the case here. We had many tons of options for beautiful couples portraits moments, and the floor to ceiling windows provided another great bit of atmosphere during the reception. We closed our reception with the Viennese Hour - if it's in your budget, do NOT skip this. It was an absolutely incredible and massive display that blew guests away. And having an extra hour to party is awesome! I cannot compliment this venue enough!

This cruise in particular was Thanksgiving week and was a Xmas themed cruise...so we celebrated both holidays on the ship.... there was a life sized gingerbread house...yes it was real gingerbread! the aroma wafted through the lobby as we entered the ship. amazing xmas tree adjacent to the gingerbread house. characters came out throughout the week dressed in different outfits (ex: captain mickey, sorcerer mickey, santa mickey etc... I saw goofy in workout clothes, santa clothes. My daughter was excited to see chip and dale doing yoga in the lobby) This one had it's pros and cons... pros... -holiday season -we celebrated multiple holiday's -ports were Castaway Cay and Disneyworld...no lame ports! -food was better than wonder -service was fabulous con's.. -too many little whining kids! i don't remember this on the previous 2 cruises...but those weren't during a school holiday -small ship...not as much fun as the Fantasy... yes of course we will go on another Disney Cruise...but now that I've tried 3/4 ships...i know that i will likely only go on the Fantasy again ..or the Dream (which i haven't tried) or one of the future ships that are soon to arrive!

Thank goodness for the Hawaiian Airlines direct flight to JFK, but I digress..... Jolie was very responsive via email when booking the tour and answering questions. We had no problem finding her in the Essex Market to begin our tour. She is personable and communicative and very easy to hang with. She was very creative in her tasting choices for the tour and did her best to tell us about what we were eating and to show us around her neighborhood. afternoon with her and learning a little about the history of the LES. The only reason I took of a star from this review is because I would have liked more history and culture and would have loved some jewish food on the tour. Otherwise, everything was awesome and Jolie is the perfect hostess. If you are thinking of taking this tour, please do. You will not be disappointed. Mahalo Jolie!

There was a street fair outside which they had told me daughter would be finished up by 3. It finished sometime around 7. There was NO SIGN - nothing. Apparently there's a sign on one side, but that door was locked. Most of the guests had a real problem finding it, which makes sense. They saw a street fair and big building with no markings on it that looked like a factory. We understood that we'd have to do everything, and thanks to her wonderful friends it ended up looking fantastic and was a great party. But the Loft really did nothing except take her money and open one door to get into the room. They literally couldn't have done less.
