The tots are $5.49 extra so I skipped those :-) but overall tasty! They have forks and knives by the register as this could get a little messy :-) The Hubbard Inn by gate B9 has something similar but on a bagel I believe for $16.96. read more

I ordered the chicken and pork tacos here and appreciated the generous amount of meat given. The meat was cooked to a point of softness. There were some interesting choices of salsa including tamarind. The food lacked seasoning and seemed like it has been sitting there for some time. I ended up getting the runs shortly after this meal. I did not like that the cashier wanted to charge extra for a small container of sauce as the customer ahead of me was not charged. At first no one wanted to take our order even though there was no one in line. I ordered three chicken tacos. My husband ordered six carnitas tacos. We ordered two large drinks. None of the three serving ladies could figure out that we wanted nine tacos. Then they argued about what type we ordered. The larger lady in charge couldn't get around the fact that my husband should have two sauces if he ordered six tacos as I was offered one for three. Then I had to remind them that I ordered drinks. It cost almost 80 dollars for 9 tacos, chips, and drinks. The tacos were decent, but the snyde comment about us from the larger serving lady as we were leaving convinced us to leave a poor review and never return. I've never had such wet tacos before. I tilted the box on my lap so that the water collected in a corner and then used a napkin to mop them up. Service was quick. Two tacos were about $8. The meat was indistinguishable from each other flavor wise, but both were well cooked. The salsa was uninspired. All in all they got the job done. The store front is grab and go. You'll have to find a seat at a gate to eat at. I recommend grabbing a fork to get all the food that falls out of your tacos! read more

So slow that other people ordered and ate next door and we were still in a line of 4 parties total. The woman making food yelled at customers, from "what do you want!" To "I don't know what the menu says...what do you want in it!" She kept hollering at the other employee to get her cheese, more boxes, etc. She then got mad that the other employee jumped in to get things moving. After helping one person, the second employee went to the back to talk smack to someone working back there -they both rolled their eyes at the woman out front. My beef tacos were bland with mushy tortillas that fell apart. No forks available. The smart people left the line. I wish I did too... Ehhh talk about some disappointing airport food. I stopped by for a pre-flight dinner before 7pm. I thought I'd give this place a try since "tacos" sounded like a good idea. Well their tacos are quite lacking, more like a mushy mess with few topping options that night. They were out of cilantro, among other things. Supply chain issues seems to be a trend at more than one Midway eatery right now since another place I tried to go to before resorting to this place closed early because they ran out of food. The servers working that night were friendly but didn't really seem to be paying attention to what I was saying- two people managed to mess up my order. I ordered 4 tacos- 2 pork and 2 carnitas, and somehow ended up with 4 pork. However, my receipt read 2 pork and 2 chicken. One lady started making my tacos and half way through making them, she handed the job over to another lady who worked the cash register- not sure why the change of hands. Neither of them realized that my order was wrong despite me telling both of them what I wanted. If they couldn't hear me properly behind the mask, they could've just asked me to repeat my order. It wasn't particularly busy here so it wasn't like they were in a rush. Once I opened my box and realized I had received 4 pork tacos, I decided to just go with it. Maybe the pork would be great, I thought. The pork tasted very bland. The only thing going for it was that it was quite juicy. Unfortunately, the soft taco shell was completely mushy and impossible to eat from the juices soaking the flour. Everything fell apart when I tried to pick it up. Moreover, I found a huge shard of bone in one of my pork tacos- downright dangerous. Thank goodness I was eating slowly otherwise it would've been very painful chomping down on that thing. Arrived at Chicago Midway airport at 930 AM local time after flying from the East Coast at such an early flight. They were serving breakfast but hey, they had taco breakfast with pulled pork so I am sold. The taco was okay but the service was awful. The person behind the counter looked like she was already having a bad day and did not even call me to say my food was ready. I was standing across the counter waiting and only after about 10 minutes of waiting did I come over and ask at which point she points at a small paper sitting on the counter in front of her. When I mentioned that she didn't call me for my order, she just looks up and away. Shameful. Not a fan at all, not sure if this is a restaurant that's located outside of the airport as well but I didn't like the airport location. Anyway, it's composed of a flour burrito shell, white rice, romaine, hard shell corn tortilla (crunch), fresh ahi tuna, ginger, special sauce (chili aioli), samurai sauce (soy base sauce). [ Ahi Tuna Poke Taco ] smallish - think of it as 3/4s the size of a regular taco but it was loaded up with a generous amount of tuna that it actually overflowed out of the shell. Passing through Chicago Midway again and I knew what I wanted. We were arriving in gate B-11, so I knew Big & Little's was right across the way. So, what what was it going to be this time? One Big & Little (Fried Fish), one Hawaiian Pork, & one Shrimp taco. Three (3) tacos for $10.99. Not bad for an airport meal, right? I opted for the Big & Little's sauce on 2 and tartar sauce on the fish. Again, everything was fresh and tasty. The establishment is clean. The service is nice and fast. No line. And, again, I think the name is really the problem. I told 2-3 people I was going to Big & Little's and they were like, "What?" This place has great food, but, seriously, the name does not lead one here. I'm not saying change the name totally, but maybe add something to let people know. I showed up and there was NO line, when there should be one. The food is good and all three (3) of my tacos were great. Yummy. Again, I will be back and keep passing the name along. Post COVID this place really went down hill. I use to get food here all the time when I would travel through Midway. Now all they have are chicken and the beef tacos which were tasteless and watery with only onions and America cheese as toppings. Chicago-Midway (MDW) is in the process of upgrading their dining options. This taco stand is on Concourse B. No seating, so you have to do takeaway. No Coke, Pepsi - thank goodness they have beer! I had the trio of tacos: Grilled fish - simple grilled cod. Not a lot of flavor, but no fishy taste tasted fresh, but a little tough. Probably wouldn't do this one again. Served on soft corn tortillas Al pastor - very tender pulled pork with pickled red onion and jalapeño. I skipped the jalapeños and added cilantro. Very tender pork with a little kick. Delicious. Airport food is usually horrible. Big & Little was not horrible. The lady who was making my tacos seemed new, she kept reading from a sheet of paper to make sure she put the right ingredients. As you can see from my picture, I ordered 3 tacos. They came in a cardboard box and were very messy. Make sure you ask for a fork and knife if you don't want sauce dripping all over your hands. I got the al pastor, carnitas and fish. The al pastor and carnitas tasted similar, except for the fact that the al pastor was slightly spicier. The fish tacos had picked jalapenos and samurai sauce. This place was surprisingly tasty, especially for airport food. I usually go to the hot dog place in the Midway food court, between terminals A and B (gotta have my Chicago hot dog when in Chicago!) but I was waiting with a coworker friend at her gate (B17) and this was nearby. It's $7.25-ish for two tacos and you can also choose three or four tacos. I had one Carnitas taco, which was okay, and then a Mango Chutney one, which was fantastic. The sweetness of the mango definitely complemented the pork. Very good tacos, especially for an airport, so I may have a new favorite food place when I'm at Midway, which is fairly often. read more

First thing - I like the Big & Littles in Chicago and have often visited the Orleans and Belmont locations. I really enjoy the food. Ok, now about the Midway Airport location. To begin with - no menus. Not even a big one on the wall to read when you are waiting in line. There is a little tiny partial one on an 8x11 right before you order. It wasn't even a complete menu and no prices! I asked about the price of fries and the girl behind the counter just gave me the DBS and said "I don't know". Very strange. Even for post pandemic service, which I now expect to be pretty bad going into any restaurant, this was kind of jarring. So I'm up for some Big & Littles and I'm going to tough it out - even without knowing the prices. So I order my chicken taco and a beef one with some fries. The next person behind the counter asks me what sauce I want on each taco - this is unexpected because at the other Big & Littles the sauce is matched to the taco you order. So I ask her what do they usually put on each and she says it's up to me - she has no idea what sauce goes with what. So I wing it and guess what sauce would be good. I guessed wrong I think because the food was not so good. Tortilla was also not really cooked and water logged, so my tacos just fell apart when picked it up. Not at all like the other locations. Conclusion. Not a good experience for the price, which I found out at checkout was a lot more than the other locations. People working there didn't have a clue and didn't seem to care. Food was underwhelming and poor quality. If this place wasn't in the airport I'm sure it would be closed. Now you might think I might just be a fussy person who complains about everything, but I travel a lot and I really don't need to have the server kiss my butt or act super friendly - I just want to know what I'm ordering, how much it costs and I like good tasting food. Another concern I had after I ate was that if the front counter servers don't seem to care at all about what they were doing, what is going on in the back where they are cooking and handling my food. Though the neighborhood-based versions of this chain have a nice variety of tasty and mostly inauthentic tacos, they seem to have a bit of a freshness or turnover problem here. My tortillas were hard and greasy; my fillings looked a little sad when they were sprinkled into my tacos and became a congealed mess by the time we took off; and who ever thought tacos were good airplane food? Al pastor - I don't think this was even al pastor, there were no pineapples, which the menu said it would have. The meat was dry and funky. The service was a two star, but the food is a three star. Very slow moving and having a conversation with the cashier completely stopping whatever it is she was doing with fulfilling the orders. Good tacos for airport food! 3 Shrimp Taco (Bowl) -Requested this to be a taco bowl. The shrimp pieces were huge, juicy, and bouncy. Each 'taco' comes with 4 shrimps that the employee counted individually. Times are tough. My condiments came with lettuce, cocktail sauce, and onions. It was healthy and satisfying! I was caught off guard by how good the tacos were. When you look at the menu it says the tacos are 2.39 but the poke is 6.39 which i will gladly pay if the food is good and it was. The spicy beef I'd say is bold with a kick. It was spicy but I was still able to enjoy the flavor of tje beef and the crisp fresh vegies. I spend an disproportionate amount of time in airports, and as a result I'll argue that I hate airport food more than just about anyone. With that context in mind, Big & Little's isn't awful, which is worth two stars in an age where the airport average is rightfully about one and a half. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? Big & Little's Restaurant uses the Chipotle-style assembly line for their tacos, which is telling as to how many of their offerings share ingredients. That's neither here nor there but notable nonetheless and I'll loop around to that in a minute. Anywho, the service is fast, which is a necessity in an airport. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Four medium sized tacos at Big & Little's ran me $14.60 or $3.65 each, which is honestly not insane for airport tacos. If I'm full for under $20 in an airport I'm pretty happy. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? So - no. These weren't good. I probably should have been scared away by the various meats in heating tins that all looked the same, but in addition to all looking the same these tacos all tasted like overcooked oversalted generic meats, which didn't go particularly well and wasn't saved by the salsas or weak peripherals. Nah. No Stars. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Chicago Midway airport continues to be in my mind a bit of a culinary wasteland, which isn't unlike most airports in this country. This is a great addition to the unstable stable of restaurants at Midway. With the big upheaval about a year ago, they've been hard pressed to offer anything more than chains, even though some are local. This particular local chain ups the game at Midway and offers an option you'll actually look FORWARD to visiting. The team is sharp, engaging, and friendly...not the usual food service corp staffers you see at many airport food pit stops. They offer good suggestions and really genuine in wanting your experience to be positive. I got three tacos for $10.99 and the portion size was decent, ingredients were high quality and, most importantly everything tasted great! My theme was pork so I went with the Hawaiian pork, the Carnitas, and the Mango Chutney pork tacos. Hard to decide which was best but I'm giving the nod to the Hawaiian as it was a decent Kailua type pork. All in all, I'll be back for more at BIG &Little's in the B Concourse...even if my flight leaves from A or C! :-) read more

I had 2 Mexican spicy eggs tacos and one carnitas eggs taco. $8.78 Pros: Now that I've eaten them, I don't regret it. Flavor was 5 of 10. The carnitas was decent shredded pork. Sauce was straightforward and the tacos were not drenched. Tortillas were ok, double, corn, soft. Tomatillo sauce was tasty. Generous on the jalepenos. The tacos stayed together during the 15 minutes I hauled them around in search of coffee. I am full now, and awake. Cons: Eggs were a bit wet and bland from microwave (but didn't make tortillas soggy, thankfully) They were small for the price, $8.78, but still not the most expensive airport food. This may be a little far fetched but I'm confident in stating that this is the best meal I've ever had in an airport outside of a private lounge. I ordered two shrimp tacos & an order of truffle fries (not pictured) & I was happy albeit my expectations being extremely low because I mean let's be honest, this is an airport. Embarrassingly this is my first time at a Big & Little's establishment but I'd def return. The dish was simple yet well excuted with very bold flavors that complimented each other especially the lime. The truffle fries were a combination of what I assume was garlic & truffle oil & were a decent sized portion. They were served on corn tortillas which were the only option & there's a buffet like assortment of toppings for your choosing. As a bonus they also serve Stella Artois beer here as well read more

I stopped by here two Friday mornings ago while on a layover in Midway. Big & Littles is one of the newer additions to the overhaul of the food at Midway and is a local restaurant chain in Chicago. Since this location is in the airport, there isn't much to say about it. You queue up, place your order whenever it is your turn and then get your food and pay at the register. The only things that stood out about it were the yellow and white hexagonal backsplash and then the photo of what must have been the big and little that the store was named after. For breakfast on this occasion I decided to order three different tacos (only $2 a pop). I went with the Samurai Egg, Mexican Egg and Spicy Egg. All of the tacos came on corn tortillas (2) with egg. The menu describes the Samurai egg as lettuce, jalepeno, special sauce and Samurai sauce. It clearly was a nod to the Japanese as one of those sauces tasted suspiciously like a teriyaki and it also had sesame seeds on it. As weird as it may sound, this was my favorite of the bunch and I really liked the sesame seeds on the egg. The menu describes the Mexican egg as onion, cilantro, cheddar and tomatillo sauce. This one ended up being my second favorite as I really loved the acidic nature and flavor of the tomatillo sauce. Last but certainly not least is the spicy egg which the menu describes as onion, cilantro and spicy Thai sauce. As you can guess, it was my least favorite because I didn't really care for the sauce. Still, I can't say that I was sad that I had tried it. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. As a matter of a fact I may recommend it to my wife the next time we head through MDW in the morning. This was my first time at this establishment, the young lady who waited on me today, was very rude. She had the worst customer services skills. She never said hello or thank you. I change my mind in ordering hash-brown, which is my right to do so, since I am the paying customer.
