Iker, our server, gave excellent customer service and made some great recommendations. We tried their Sirena and Vieja beers and I think it's safe to say that you can't go wrong with whatever you try on their menu. Their ceviche verde and ceviche negro was fresh and amazing. Their sirloin beef burger patty is made in house and so tasty! My husband had the Rockefeller oysters and those were also very tasty! We will definitely be back for more on our next trip. How could I forget... their blueberry cheesecake & chocolate mousse dessert was also amazing!

I had the saison, pale ale, session IPA, a porter, and 2 stouts. I can't say what was what because it wasn't listed anywhere. Overall their porter and stouts were where it's at! They were really good. The saison and pale ales were decent. The best part was that you don't have to deal with the Papas & Beer party crowd here! When we were here, we were the only ones inside. Overall, I'd go back if I am in Ensenada again.

Tucked just inside a small location off the main boulevard, they serve up some great craft beer that is typically hard to find down south. As an expat, that may be my only gripe living down here. I need some beer with flavor! Luckily ZBT has it! What was supposed to be a quick pit stop for a beverage turned into three beers before we finally got overcome with hunger so we left to see what more Ensenada offered. This is a beer-only hall, where the choices are regular-size-bottle and caguama (quart) of Tecate, in rojo or azul (rojo is the red-labeled regular Tecate, and azul is blue-labeled Tecate light, for those watching their girlish figures). There appears to be wine available in a massive jug The locals will stare at you, then smile, then introduce themselves. By evening, El Pirata has a fun and friendly crew of people in their 30s-60s just hanging out. By day, I've been there with 75 others all dressed as pirates, but that's another story. El Pirata is right around the corner from Papas and Beer, Hussongs, and all your touristy drinkups -- yet exists in another world, in another land, and in another time, a time long before cruise ships began spilling thousands of day-trippers into the town. It's a little hard to find, especially at night, as there's no lit-up sign and just a doorway. Check it out, mateys, and bring your friends, but don't tell everyone.

BF had a couple of beers (cant remember what they were, but i believe it was local), and because i wasn't planning on drinking more (we just got done with a small winery tasting tour), but Chris recommended i try the cocktiel de guayaba, its a bourbon cocktail with guava! It was only 40 pesos and if the owner recommends me.....why would i refuse? we were super hungry so we wanted something light and Chris recommended the pulpo ceviche (100 pesos). My drink was ridiculously tasty as i am a huge guava fan and the bourbon balances the sweetness of the guava with the liquor. the pulpo (octopus) ceviche was wonderful and delicious with just the right portion and served with thin tortilla chips. Chris was so kind and chatted with us almost the entire time we were there. i HIGHLY recommend stopping by here for a quick drink and light bite even if you are here to explore the wines in this wine country. my only mistake was that we came here after having drank so much already from visiting all the wineries!

It had hoppy and citrus flavors and a finish that lingered on the palate. Next was the Harry Polanco Red Ale. This one had an intense copper color with caramel, hoppy and malty aromas. The flavor was full of malt and caramel with a strong bitterness and astringency that reminded me of an IPA. This ended up being my favorite of the three. We also tried the Foca Parlante Stout. It had a dark color with strong aromas of roasted coffee and caramel. The toasted malt and coffee flavors came through nicely. The view of the water from their location was amazing and it was fairly busy when we visited. I definitely want to come back and try the food next.

Unfortunately we were wrong. When we arrived here, we realized it was the same situation here as well. We ended up taking beer to-go at this point because we wanted to take it back to the US. We got some hazy beers and I actually liked them! I wish I could have sat here and drink, but either way glad I was able to try a cervecería off the beaten track. Definitely nice if a local's feel and it's in a typical brewery warehouse so don't expect a certain aesthetic.
