I have to say that the last time I ordered from Pizza Box was when I was still studying at CUHK. As…read moresome of you may have known, I lived in the farthest hostel in the entire campus - International House. Going out for dinner and coming back can take quite a while and too much of a hassle. Therefore, my roommate and I often ordered from Pizza Box. Why Pizza Box but not Pizza H*t? First off, Pizza Box does not offer crazy choices, instead, they have my favorite - meat lovers; second, Pizza H*t does not deliver to secluded places like ours; third, it is much cheaper, and it has buy one get one free promotion. (Fun fact - I tried calling in Cantonese and the staff said they do not have that promotion; so try English if you want this - not sure if it still happens though) So around HKD$150 can get you 2 huge boxes of pizza in less than an hour. Where else can you find that? The delivery normally does not take too long and the food is super hot when they get served. The crust is crispy with melted cheese all covering the slices. You may try to order online but I prefer calling in person. Though I do not see myself a computer idiot, its online system fails me still - and I do not see the promotion online unfortunately. Therefore, give them a call, which is definitely much faster and more convenient. There are so many stores around Hong Kong and I can guarantee you they do delivery everywhere.

Last night a pizza saved my life.. well, not literally, but Pizza Box has been a source of…read moresustenance for me on some many lazy evenings. There is of course, the million dollar question of which is better: Pizza Hut or Pizza Box? Some would say Pizza Hut does a better all-round and that their pizzas are more interesting. Then you have the school of Pizza Box where the pizzas are done properly and to be honest nothing else much matters. For me- the Pizza is the main thing in the meal and I don't care if the pasta is a bit soggy and the soup tastes like PVA. You are ordering a pizza after all so that's what should be done properly. Pizza Box's menu has a traditional list of pizzas- nothing too fancy but enough to keep a pizza buff like me happy. I am not a fan of the pizza hut take on dumping every single known ingredient to mankind on the pizzas. The are 3 choices for the crust and I think that's the proper way of doing things- none of that nonsense with cheese and everything else. They deliver or you could choose to pick up a pizza from their shop; doing it the latter way would usually mean a 40% off or a concession to a similar degree. I always choose to go pick it up as its cheaper and quicker. Their service has always been top notch and I really cannot A Manhattan would do me quite well at this time- thank you very much.

Chubby's is by no means a fancy place, but it is a great place for cheap eats, and despite its…read morename, it also offers excellent fried chicken. The pizza on the other hand is nothing special- you might as well just get a frozen pizza from a grocery store and bake it in an oven because you'll get very similar results. So, continuing from the pizza, I've tried their thick and thin crust pizzas, both aren't very good. The thick crust pizzas are very doughy and absurdly thick, but if you're trying to fill yourself up, I suppose it to a certain extent does the job. Thin crust pizzas also aren't great, while they do have a reasonably good sauce to crust ratio, the crust is literally crunchy, with a texture that resembles the breadsticks that you might nibble on before your pizza arrives in a fancier pizza place. The fried chicken on the other hand was to my surprise, really good. The skin was crunchy, the meat itself was tender and juicy and it was really well seasoned overall... I ended up eating 3 pieces. Considering how their chicken is this good, I'm surprised they still insist on branding themselves as a pizza place with a chicken on their logo, Chubby's Chicken would've had a wonderful alliterative ring to it, and it'd also represent what's special about this place more accurately.

Yes this is a pizza place but what I want to review on is actually its fried chicken. Before I…read moreheard about this place, if I wanted to have delicious fried chicken, I would opt for the Kentucky one. However, in case you did not notice, that place has been secretly increasing the price over the years and I for one cannot deal with the fact that I need to spend almost forty dollars on two drumsticks. Like seriously. The meal should have cost less than HKD$30 in my opinion. So where do I get my fix on fried chicken now? I stumbled upon one when I was in Kwai Fong the other day. As I was struggling to find my own bus stop back home, I saw this located on the ground floor that people could easily miss this as it is rather hidden. As I spent a long time trying to navigate through this never-ending Kwai Fong plaza, I was starving and decided to come here and sit for a while. Little did I know they serve FRIED CHICKEN! I had a look at the menu and realized for four pieces of chicken, that only cost around HKD$40! Kentucky, in your face! After maybe 15 minutes, I got my order and I could tell those chickens were definitely not pre-cooked. They were crispy, moist and juicy. Next week when I go back to Kwai Fong, you may just see them there devouring chickens. Don't be shy. Come sit with me.

A little expensive for pizza, but since I do not eat it often, I think it's well worth it. The brussel sprout pizza is my favorite, and unique (I've never seen it at another pizza place). I'm also into any pizza with prosciutto now it. Make sure to save room for dessert - the cheesecake is fantastic.

Having been there multiple times, I was a bit surprised when on this recent visit is when they handed us a stamped loyalty card. I asked our sweet server if this was something new and she said no. I asked her why they didn't inform us of that on our previous visits and she, of course, didn't have an answer, but politely mentioned she's seen us before and that's why she gave it to us. The pizzas are good. They've added cocktails recently here, I reckon. Their menu keeps changing. The one time we had antipasti there - smoked eggplant, my jaw was on the floor with the price to portion size proportion, more because the taste disappointed as well. But the good news is that their pizzas don't disappoint. As with other Blacksheep Restaurants, they have the friendliest of staff. Pictures on the blog - thevegetarianvoyager
