I purchased my dream boat in 2017 in Bay City Michigan and took it there for the engine hour checks and because they treated us so well. That was Bay Outboard Marine in Bay City. Last year I developed a problem and it was showing I had an error in the engine, so I called BHM and the owner suggested rather than driving 180 miles, I should try Bi State Marine, I'm so glad I did, perfect and honest people. I dropped it off and 2 days later It was complete, I screwed up when I opened up something I shouldn't have. Since then, I've put over 100 hours on it and developed a problem in the steering, so I again took it to Bi State. The Ladies are very knowledgeable and told me that Mike (the owner) would contact me. He did that day and got the wheels turning as this was a big job and under warranty. Mike got all approved and even though I do not agree with what the engine company pays these guys to do the work, I am pleased with the work they did for me. Yes, this is their busy season, but I got my boat back within a reasonable time. I have not water tested it yet ((Lake Erie Algae Bloom water won't be run through my engine, it's Green concrete when it dries)) but I did start in my yard and if feels like a new boat. I'm confident when the water clears up, I will have no problems because the people at Bi State took the time to explain things I didn't know but if I do, I know it will be taken care of. Took three years to replace panels on our tritoon that were damaged from hail. They were wrong color!! And front gate still dented For two years he charged storage and winterize and shrink wrap which they said he needed boat for winter to repair we didn't need we have free storage else where read more

My friend took his outboard 15hp Suzuki in for miner work it needed a Neutral Starter Switch and 2 Gaskets for the screws where the Gear Lube goes in here is the Price $786.00 what a Ripoff!!!! And Gouging he took from them and they Expect him to be Happy!!!! This place of Business is frankly Below Zero to their Customers i wouldn't tell a single person to go there for Anything!!!! 500 dollars for a trailer hitch you gotta be kidding me. the part was less then 100 dollars. Mike is not a good business man . I feel I was takin to the cleaners. I was broke Down . I feel very strongly I was taken advantage of. he said I need 4 wheel bearings. only for 900 more dollars. I picked up my boat drove to Cleveland Ohio . the hub was not even warm. If I could give a zero review I would. If you have an issue with your boat, please DO NOT take it to Bi-State. To make a long story very short, we bought a used boat privately and brought it to Bi-State for routine service. The boat ran great before we had it serviced. After getting it serviced through them, the temperature alarm started to alert at full throttle. I did not want to take it back to Bi-State, but my husband went ahead and took it there since they say they're Volvo Penta certified. After hundreds of dollars in water tests and a new thermostat, they came back with "you need a new engine". They claimed there was a crack (although it looked like a paint line to me). I had to argue with them about the excessive charges for the repeated unnecessary water test charges and we got our boat the HECK out of there. It turns out the problem was their impeller installation. They didn't do it properly which caused the overheating problem. A quick fix for a couple hundred bucks and the boat runs great again. These people, especially Mike, are thieves. They honestly tried to get us to believe we needed an engine for $5-$8k. HA! all because of their shoddy work. They probably do it on purpose. Go ahead and google them, you'll see the exact same story from other people! read more
