During the inspection they also provided water flow management devices for our showers, replaced bulbs with LED, and installed a smart surge protector in our media room. The report they provided gave us recommendations for insulation, tuneup, and other installations to help improve our HVAC efficiency. The quote included prices and rebates available. We easily selected the options we wanted and scheduled the work. It was a fraction of the cost if we had engaged contractors without going through the energy audit. They managed the rebate process and we only had to pay the remaining balance. We had blown-in and spray foam insulation done in our attic. Once this was complete, Zero Draft retested and showed that the install increased our efficiency by over 20%. I can actually feel and see the difference. It's noticeably warmer inside. Our roof used to have frost on half and not on the other half because so much heat was rising up. After they installed our insulation the entire roof stays frosty and more f the heat stays in our living spaces. They even got into spaces I never thought were accessible!

In fact, in serveral places - they only got to about 2 feet from the wall and this resulted in an unprofessional look. We were never warned this was a possibility...only after they finished did they say their equipment just couldn't get that close to the walls. We still don't understand. Followup Post- D'andre did stop by today. He explained that his machinery could not get edges under cabinets (1st time hearing that) and that polishing concrete does not "polish" the floor. It will be a dull finish unless expoxy is used. He said he offered us polishing vs expoxy but as I told him - while a builder/professional remodeler might know that polishing is dull (andugly) and that a shiny surface requires expoxy - that we as consumers would not know this. Concrete etc definitely did not explain this but simply said that expoxy would give a uniform color to the cement (i.e. black). They never mentioned that clear expoxy was an option. He looked at our floor and said it looks great as we have 8 throw rugs and lots of heavy furniture hiding the worst areas. Well lesson learned. Consumers need to do their homework before engaging a contractor as the contractor either won't be transparent or assumes you know that the word polished doesn't mean a sheen or even nice!

I researched reviews on all and Eco-Cool was my initial top choice after the research. I called the office to schedule a routine servicing of our system on Friday, I spoke with Amy at the office, she offered several options for services including a simple one time service or an annual program. We were able to schedule a tech to come out on Tuesday morning. Our Tech, Craig, was prompt, courteous, and professional even through the multiple questions I asked. He took a look at our system and the area of concern we had and he gave us the news we were anticipating (that our system is running but might not have much time left in it....it's 26years old) he offered to have quote for replacement drawn up if we wanted. (I did) he left us set up for success and he told us his goal was to keep us running into springtime at least....we appreciated that! After he departed, I called Amy again to arrange payment for today. She was kind and professional and let us know she would have a quote to us by the end of the week and even provided insight to what pricing is doing now and anticipated to be after the new year so we could be able to make the decisions best for our family. We appreciated the prompt, professional, expert care we have received in our first few interactions with Eco-Cool and are looking forward to remaining customers for a long time!
