I rented from BG Lein from May 2014-March 2016. I really liked my apartment on Dixon street. It was very reasonably priced, had all the amenities I needed, and was in a good location! While the neighbors in a building next door (not owned by BG Lein) were a bit shady, my neighbor was great and I always felt safe there. I had very few maintenance issues, but when I did, it was easy to post a request on their website and they addressed it quickly. It was also really convenient to set up auto pay on my account so that it would automatically deduct my rent each month. I appreciated not having to write a check each month. Move out was easy and quick and I got my deposit back. You do have to have the carpet professionally cleaned when you move out, but I got a good groupon deal. Overall, they have lots of properties and I'd recommend renting from them. read more

Worst company, they pay no attention to tenant's concerns. I have called the office on more than one occasion to inform them about certain things like bugs crawling on the walls outside of certain apartments and dog crap on the rug in the hallway and was told okay I'll make a note of it. Tenants using other people's washer and dryers because they don't want to pay to wash their clothes. The list goes on and on. I really liked living there until they bought the property. They are totally useless as managers, I will be moving come spring . Rent from someone else. read more

They scammed me out of 30$. I was supposed to see a couple of other places, but he ghosted me after I applied. Should have listened to the other reviews but I try not to judge. read more

Do Not Rent From This Company. My application was rejected for a property with a $845/monthly rent, when rent at my current apartment has been $915/month for over a year. How they think I can't afford a place at a decrease is beyond me. I have no evictions, no outstanding debt, no unpaid rent, no charges filed against me, and a great credit score. They also will not disclose to you the reason for the rejection. Save yourself the headache and spare yourself from the runaround and stay as far away from ANY property under their management. I hope you're reading this, and I hope you find the perfect candidate to fill that apartment. read more

Save yourself the trouble--don't lease from BG Lein Management! I moved into a BG Lein Management apartment in September 2024 and had a terrible experience over four months. The leasing agent, Dawn, was dismissive and made a joke about handling domestic disputes instead of calling the police, which should have been a red flag. The apartment had a broken front door upon moving in and that took two weeks to fix, and my downstairs neighbors constantly left outside doors unlocked, were loud, and used common areas as storage. Things escalated when my apartment was broken into due to their negligence. After a police report and an emergency repair request, management took days to respond. They poorly fixed the door, only adding screws without addressing the damage properly. To add insult to injury, I received a notice about "foul smells" and a dog on the property--despite me never having a dog or any pet. When I tried to seek clarification, Dawn was rude and unhelpful. They even added a $600 fee for the nonexistent dog without responding to my emails. Ultimately, I had to break my lease with BG Lein Management. Although they agreed to refund my security deposit, they still deducted fees for cleaning a perfectly maintained apartment. I have photos to dispute their claims, but I couldn't be bothered to deal with their incompetence any longer. read more

They need to be on the Wall Of Shame. One of the worst rental companies in Milwaukee. As bad as Katz. The door lock was finicky when I moved in and they refused to fix it. Eventually my key broke inside and when I called maintenance they told me that "I guess you're staying in a motel tonight" and hung up the phone. They never salted or cleared snow. I was stung by a wasp nest. When I eventually left they stole my security deposit and made up a bunch of bogus charges. These people are SCUMBAGS and LEECHES. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM L. read more

Never rent from these people. They never fix anything. They don't clear snow or ice in any sort of reasonable time. Myself and three others slipped in the parking lot. The management staff hates hearing from you and will let you know. I once lost power to half the apartment on a Friday. I called for maintenance and told me I had to wait until Monday because "It wasn't an emergency." When the maintenance finally arrived he told me he could see the outlet sparking. This place is a death trap. read more

5 days now I can not sleep at night because my ac is not running, i can not use my internet, can not work because i don't have internet. in 5 days they are unable to change a bad outlet and when you call them they are saying that they are not providing the light but the bulding. I don't know if it is we energy responsability to change bad equipment in the house? really poor management and maintenance. not a recommended place read more

These people are the worst rentors ever. They will screw you out of your security deposit, raise your rent for no reason, and the stuff inside the apartments are so cheap (windows, doors, ect...) that they break and blame you. Just awful. read more

Terrible!! I got screwed out of $100 in application fees and kept getting led on. Every apartment I wanted on the southside of Milwaukee they made me fill out an app and pay the fee before they'd even let me view it. The day of showing I'd get a call stating they rented out the apartment and wouldn't refund my application fees. Then, out of the blue I get a clal saying they'd rent me a place on the northside in the middle of the ghetto. These people are nothing but scammers and if I can give less than one star I would. read more

They make up lies about tenants amongst one another to start problems between one another. They do nothing about that first list they give you when you first move in stating all the things that are broke, they are putting out the Elder in the middle of a pandemic and make up rules and fines along the way it's like signing a deal with the Devil. First we got a loud noice compliant we dont own a radio and our TVs cheap. Lady across the hall got a movie theater and surrounded sound can barely hear anything unless door is open. Then in Nov we moved in it was a none smoking building the letter was givin to us in February that by march30th their will be no smoking. They don't enforce the rules unless they want to do it to a old lady. read more

BG Lein Management - Btw she almost killed herself in the first snow fall the crackhead who move in fix last month put a lightbulb in the back after we ask 9mont - Property Management Near Me - Milwaukee, Wisconsin

I wish I could give zero stars. If you have a loved one pass away while renting from them, just leave all the garbage and furniture and items you don't want in the unit. And don't clean it. Keep their keys and garage door opener. They will trick you into believing that you'll get the security deposit back so you clean the unit and then they'll keep the deposit and say it was because you didn't give a 30 day notice that your DEAD loved one was going to "break the lease". read more

Do not rent from here! They are rude and the apartment condition is misleading. Getting anything fixed is like pulling teeth. They are rude and treat you like a check. read more

Big Mistake! I'm currently renting with BG Lein and it's a huge mistake. They give you a five page list of rules, but do they enforce any of them? Nope! I have partying at all hours above me and kids running, jumping and bouncing off the walls next me, nothing is being done about it all I'm being told is talk to them. Kind of hard when the neighbors supposedly don't understand English. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM BG LEIN. I spent 2016-2017 at an apartment owned by BG Lein Management, and it had been the worst company I have ever been associated with. There's no communication between management and tenants, no reliable maintenance, and so much more. I moved out as my lease expired and was charged hundreds of dollars for "damages" that I never caused in my unit. I took photos and videos of the condition of the unit prior to moving in, and no damages were added after I moved out. Once again do not waste your time and money with this company. read more

I have rented from them for over 10 years in an apartment building on Milwaukee's west side off Hawley Road. The owner has been personally involved in helping me a few times when I had some financial setbacks, allowing me to be a little more than a few days late. I know this is partly because I'm a "no drama" long time tenant. I have found them to be very responsive to issues, and they work hard to keep up with routine maintenance. The rent is very reasonable given the age of the building, etc. I've rented for over 30 years, and find this company to be very good compared to most. If you are honest and fair, so are they. read more

They bought out the building from my old landlord and have failed to do their duties since. We didn't hear anything from anyone for months. One morning the 'landlord' tried to come in our home unannounced with 3 other men. My boyfriend said they looked shady and were trying to look at all of our things. They don't shovel, respond to maintenance requests, tried to trick us into signing another lease. The worst company I've rented from period! They send an email if your late on rent, but not in Regards to maintenance requests. I can't wait until our original lease is up so we can move! read more

BG Lein Management - My heater in my apartment that BG Lein refuses to do anything about. - Property Management Near Me - Milwaukee, Wisconsin

They are cheap for a reason.. please do not rent from them. One of my biggest regrets in life. I lived at the Valley Forge property for only a few months in 2018 and I literally begged and cried on the phone with them to let me out of my lease, which they finally did. The apartment I moved into reaked like smoke even through fresh paint and new carpet. I had to deep scrub all of the woodwork, cabinets, and windows and the smell still lingered with two air purifiers running nonstop. My apartment was on the first floor and the windows did not lock. They never even attempted to fix them even after I told them I felt unsafe and there were break ins in the parking lot. The basement was beyond disgusting, as well as the hallways. They literally never cleaned the common areas and you could tell because there was salt on the carpets from the previous winter. There was a nasty old abandoned couch in the basement. Dead and alive bugs everywhere. Also the bedbugs. They were in my apartment when I moved in. They did pay to spray but they did so without my notice and with my cat in the apartment to which I was very upset. Please save your money and time and stay far away from BG LEIN. It will cost you more than a headache. read more

I have lived at Greenbrier Village Apartments for over 5 years (BG Lein Management), and my Property Manager at Greenbrier Village (Dee, K.) is wonderful!! Dee has gone above and beyond her job as a property manager by helping me in every way, and then some. Dee has honestly help me become a better neighbor, person and mom in life, by just being tough but honest, approachable, being a mom herself, understanding, and up front with me, and this is not even her job to do but she really gets it!! I believe if their were more property managers like Dee that landlords would have fewer problems with tenants , fewer complaints, and just a lot less STRESS!! I just want to say Thank You To DEE K., really Thank You!! read more

My main beef with them is they took $80 out of my security deposit for carpet cleaning. The deal is that when I moved in, the carpet was in terrible condition. I asked to have it carpet cleaned again to try to remove the numerous stains but it still looked awful. It looked like the previous tenants let their kids spill kool aid everywhere. The manager bragged to me upon move in about how clean everything was and on the surface it was. It wasn't til I moved in that I found old food in the kitchen cabinets and cigarette butts in the closets. The point is that I left this apartment in better shape than I moved in and then was charged for stains that were there before me. After seeing I was being charged for this, I responded in writing contesting it. It took over a month for them to reply to me and tell me that they disagreed. I called but was told they would not speak to me about it, I would just have to wait for a letter. You can find better places in Milwaukee for better value and with much nicer people. read more

Horrible. All they care about is if they get your rent money. They won't fix anything, clean up, do anything about inconsiderate neighbors. I could go on and on. Please do not ever ever rent from them. Save yourself from hell! Oh and they will tell you that you're "behind" in rent, threaten eviction, but refuse to show proof! I rented from BG Lein for about two years on Hawley but had to move out early because of bed bugs! The management put up a letter they were to do an all apartment extermination of the bed bugs. The company did a very bad job and never did a follow up which did not kill them off and they ventured through the walls to my place. After moving out they sent a letter charging me for things which were not correct. For instance, carpet cleaning, bathroom cleaning, and also the extermination they themselves had come in, not me. They may seem nice and tell you they are not about over charging and the money when looking at their apartments. Yet, they are and will take whatever they can from you at move out. Inspect everything as well because they will find things you may have not broken etc. and charge you. So if looking for somewhere to live DON'T rent from them! If you don't have a choice take pictures before you move in because that at least saved me some $. read more
