I would give this place six stars if I could. I can't believe I've driven by it for years,…read morepossibly decades, and never knew what was inside. In fact, I'm pretty sure I've stopped her to get gas before and knew about the liquor store but had no idea about the pepperoni roll bakery hidden inside! Pepperoni rolls are near and dear to my heart. They are comfort food from home. I have rarely found them outside of West Virginia so when I visit I pretty much eat a pepperoni roll diet for a week. The pepperoni rolls here are a bit different. They are soft and light and fluffy. Most of the ones I find are made from a thicker bread that's heavy and dense. I find the pepperoni and cheese ratio in these to be perfect. Not too much of any one ingredient. I tried the special of the week which was Crab Rangoon and I wish I didn't--not that it was bad, it just wasn't a real pepperoni roll. Then of course I got a regular one and a jalapeño one. My son got one regular and as we at them in the car he asked if he could have another so I gave him my card and back he went. They were about $4.50 each. Later when we came back through town after going to Blackwater and Douglas Falls, he asked for yet another and of course I obliged. I took mine to Blackwater Falls and ate it there. Nothing like enjoying West Virginia's most iconic waterfall while eating its most iconic food (sorry WV Slaw dogs). The liquor store here is convenient. Prices were only slightly marked up except on one bottle. The distillery and other stores have it for $65-69 and they had it for $110. I would have purchased it for the real retail price. They had a great selection of WV bourbons which was very nice. We will definitely be stopping here now each time we pass through, especially since Hellbenders closed.

I ended up in the Deep Creek area and was enjoying the scenery. Of course I needed to refuel on many levels, I started out for a gas station/convenience store. And with me, you know I needed to see if my favorite one was in the area. Of course there was, and of course I beat feet until I arrived here. It's a newer looking Sheetz, but on a small footprint. It feels pared down, but it also feels as if it fits in perfectly for the area. It is constantly busy, there was a steady flow of people here, it was hard to find a place to park let alone a pump to get gas. What complicates this area a little more is that there is a car wash right behind the Sheetz. As far as I can tell, it is not owned by Sheetz. In order to access the car wash you need to drive through the Sheetz parking lot. On top of that, when everyone wants a car wash I am sure this is probably a horrible place to be. Inside I made my rounds. Used the facilities, super clean. Browsed the shelves for a snack, they were aplenty. Grabbed a drink from the cooler, make sure to pay attention to pricing, sometimes there are deals. Made my way to pay and this was one of the most pleasant interactions I had all day. The lady behind the counter was so chipper and greeted everyone as if she knew every single person that walked in here.

A Truly Life-Saving Experience at Good To Go in Friendsville, MD…read more I was driving from Rockville, MD to Alpine Lake, WV late at night when, right after getting off the freeway, my tire went completely flat. After 2.5 hours on the road, in an unfamiliar town, stressed and exhausted, I pulled into the first place I saw -- Good To Go -- hoping the air pump could get me back on track. The pump wasn't working for me, and my panic was setting in when a kind stranger came out, checked my tire, and let me know it was completely shot -- and another wasn't far behind. He told me I could leave my car there until I figured things out. That alone was a relief. But the true blessing came minutes later when Rick, the owner, approached. At first, I worried he might tell me I couldn't leave my car there. Instead, he radiated genuine concern and immediately guided me to a safe spot to park. Then he told me something I'll never forget: he lives on the property and would personally check on my car throughout the night. The weight of my stress lifted instantly. As a broke college student without AAA, I had been dreading the cost of a tow back home. Rick didn't just reassure me -- he offered to personally put on new tires if I could get them. That act of kindness saved me from hundreds of dollars and hours of added stress. It's rare to meet people in this world who will go above and beyond for a complete stranger, but Rick is one of those people. I truly believe God put me at that gas station for a reason. This review might not be about the coffee or snacks (which I'm sure are great), but if you ever find yourself passing through Friendsville, stop at Good To Go. You'll meet genuine, kindhearted people who care about more than just business -- they care about you. Thank you, Rick. You didn't just help with my car -- you restored my peace of mind.

They have just about anything you could want or need here from pizza, to chips, to lottery tickets, to liquor, to knick knacks, to souvenirs, to cheese sticks... you get my point. It's a great place to stop and get gas plus also grab a snack and drink. The people who work here are always nothing but friendly and helpful. Make sure to take a pic with Bigfoot ;) Safe travels :)

I finally had my first experience with Buc-cee's and I could see what all the hype is about. I was blown away when we were just approaching the area! The many cars coming and going! I was blown away again when I entered the building. It was like going to a pro game or concert, so many people! But this crowd had a different vibe. It was like a frantic vibe. Like wanting to get in or out of the building or to make sure they were not missing out in getting the popular fried chicken or something else. When I mentioned to my hubby I was going to a Bucc-ee's he asked me to try the Brisket sandwich. Brisket is always last on my list of food to try. But, I will because my hubby asked me to. He's always trying things I ask him to. Well, I am glad that I did because that sandwich was very good. The meat was not dry and it had just the right amount of bbq sauce in it. I just added chopped onions that they already had in little containers to take. Together it made it a perfect meal. They did have an option of sliced or chopped tri-tip. My friend was trying to get an order of the chicken strips but every time it came out fresh people swarmed and immediately grabbed them. She decided not to be part of that swarm. I bought a handful of snacks to try on our road trip to NC and I wanted gift to my dad (an assortment of nuts) with a fave snack of his. This place had a section (2 of them) for drinks, for cooked food, and desserts. In another area there is a gift section. We visited this place in the midst of lunch time. I wonder if this place is just as busy during late hours. Although there seems to be plenty of parking it's still madness. Be sure to pack some patience with you.
