Before she started, I told her I wanted my nails cut shorter but wanted to keep the almond shape, she gave me pushback and said she could only do an oval shape since I wanted them short. I insisted that it was possible to do an almond shape since I wanted the same size as the XS gelx almond nails, she finally complied but I could tell she was annoyed. Once we got to the actual color, I noticed that the one she was using was a lot lighter than the one I had picked - I made a comment about it and she kept insisting that she was using the right one. I asked to see the color I had chosen and when she brought it I pointed out that the one I had on did not match the one I had chosen. She kept trying to tell me it was the same one even though it was obvious it wasn't. She finally asked another nail tech and she was told that she needed to use black nail polish as a base to get the darker color I wanted. Instead of removing the polish I had, she added a coat of black polish and then added a coat of the initial color. I noticed that the black polish was very noticeable around my nail area and she kept saying that because of the cat eye and use of the magnet, the black polish was moving - that didn't even make sense. I asked her to do another layer of the purple polish to try and hide the black polish, but I could tell I was annoying her. At this point I wasn't really paying attention until she finished - when I looked at my nails, it looked as if I had done them myself! The black polish was very noticeable all around my nails and the cat-eye effect was different on all of them. I was so surprised by how bad they looked that I didn't even know what to say. To top it off, my total came out to $71 which I thought was ridiculous considering the poor service. This was my first time coming here and it will definitely be my last. Unfortunately, I took pictures after I got home and attempted to fix them. You can still see the black polish around my nails, but it was a lot worse when I left the salon. I'm still surprised that Cindy thought my nails looked good, this is by far the worst manicure I've had.

I had a pedicure with the extended massage, but unfortunately it didn't feel like a massage at all--it was mostly just scrubbing on my legs. I also had gel polish that needed to be removed, and the nail technician was extremely rough while filing it off. At one point, the filing actually hurt. She filed my nails down so much that they are now extremely thin, and one of my nails is already breaking off. What makes this especially frustrating is that I had been taking a break from nail services. I had only gotten gel once in the previous six months, had it serviced just once, and my natural nails were otherwise very healthy and strong. They had never broken or become this thin before. Now all of my nails are noticeably thin, even with polish and top coat, and I genuinely regret going to Radiance. I really wanted to give the salon the benefit of the doubt and see if my nails would recover, but after watching them continue to break and deteriorate, I feel this experience is worth sharing.
