At Revolution, there are both new and locally-designed clothing as well as reasonably priced consigned clothes, shoes, and accessories that are in good shape. Whenever I go to Revolution, I feel good knowing that I'm supporting a cool local community store that gives back to the community. Pssst, don't be surprised if you're offered a latte to sip while you shop. There are toys for kids to play with too while you shop. This is a true gem of a store and White River Junction and the Upper Valley is so much the better for it.

While vacationing in Vermont, I needed a cheap large suitcase to bring home my shopping. I stumbled…read moreupon this charming thrift store on July 17, where the helpful staff (husband and wife) offered me a perfect-size suitcase they had been using for storage at a ridiculously low price. When I tried to pay more to support their worthy cause, they refused, so I had to buy more instead!I found a great selection of high-quality, brand-new Naot sandals, as well as some Nalgene water bottles. Then they gave me an additional 15% off my total (i had to chuckle that they were thwarting my effort to support the cause). Overall it was a wonderful reminder of small-town hospitality. Stop in for great values and genuinely lovely people.

Today Dennis and I were on a hunt for a old mantel for our naked basement fireplace. We found a beauty of one that was in good shape. It had a ton of old paint on it but with some elbow grease it will be like new when done. We also bought a cool cast iron enameled sink that fits into a small corner. Perfect for the small water closet in the basement! All for $300 plus tax. The owner gave us a small break in price, when we asked. So cool!! VT Salvage is located right next door to the train station in White River Junction.
