Today Dennis and I were on a hunt for a old mantel for our naked basement fireplace. We found a beauty of one that was in good shape. It had a ton of old paint on it but with some elbow grease it will be like new when done. We also bought a cool cast iron enameled sink that fits into a small corner. Perfect for the small water closet in the basement! All for $300 plus tax. The owner gave us a small break in price, when we asked. So cool!! We were looking for a nice small unique piece of art to remind us of our stay in Vermont. We were impressed by small clay pinch pots that were smooth as glass on the inside. The lady behind the counter asked if we had any questions and I asked about one of the small pots. Ends up she is the artist who makes them. We had a nice long conversation about her process and art in general. We were very impressed with the owner and her shop. We left with two pieces that we will cherish.
