1) (international) booking : I was visiting New York and booked my appointment in advance. Since I couldn't leave my own phone number cause it wasn't an American one I left hotel information and it was not a problem at all 2) finding the place : this woulda been tricky because it is kinda hidden / private but I got messaged on the day of my appointment with very clear instructions on how to get there. With that it was easy. Nice service to get those clear instructions as well. 3) atmosphere : coming in to the shop I was greeted heartedly. As mentioned before it is kind of a private place and you get that feeling as well when you come in. It really is a nice place with an amazing atmosphere. The people working there seem like a family to one another. Very pleasant feeling all around being there. 4) the service / cut itself : without any doubt my favourite barber experience of all time. Before getting started we talked about what we wanna do in detail and I really felt understood. Besides that the consultation was extraordinary. You immediately could tell that she is an expert in what she does. The end result was simply amazing. Throughout the cut she always made sure that we were going the right direction and that I was satisfied. That is haircut and beard trim btw. 5) extras : I've already praised the actual things you are looking for in a barber shop but what stood out for me as well was the personality. Often times when you go to a barber I feel like they are just focussed on getting the job done and only talk to you about the cut or with their coworkers. That was not the case whatsoever here. We had a really nice conversation the entire time talking about basically anything. Time just flew past. I honestly wished it would've gone on for longer simply because I had such a great time. Furthermore I received valued advice on what products to use with the structure of my hair. I also bought a product she used to style my hair after the cut was done, but I didn't get the impression that she was trying hard to sell me the product. She simply adviced me to use it or something similar if it wasn't available in my country. After buying the actual product she also told me that if I ever had any questions I could always message her and ask away. So I really have nothing bad to say about this place. If you are in New York and looking for a high quality haircut and / or beard trim I highly recommend checking this place out. You will not be disappointed. If I ever visit New York again I'll be sure to come back. Thanks again so much for a wonderful all around service and the great time I had with you Cassie. All the best to you and your business. Best regards, Basti read more

Quaint barbershop just a block from my employer! Was in and out within 30-minutes which was perfect as it gave me enough time to grab lunch on the way back to work! The staff were friendly and immediately checked me in, and I was very happy with my haircut (gentleman's haircut was my request). I'll be back again, of which my wife approves! read more

Absolutely top-tier. Beard styling, straight-razor head and face shaves. Perfect ambience to boot. Pricing is absolutely transparent and explained in the website. Cassondra does great work. And you get to give her dog a treat the end. read more

Was in the unable to make a visit to my usual barbers in Jersey, so I was in Midtown and had a couple of hours to spare and looked up barbers in the Midtown West area on Yelp of course!! I found BTB Studios around the corner from my location with 5-star rating and stellar review feedback. Called them up, they were very friendly and professional on the phone, they had an opening at that time. They provided the detailed directions and I found the place instantly. I arrived and met Cassie. They greet you warmly as you walk in and offered a drink. I quickly sat down and told Cassie what I wanted. She got to work like a pro and carried on a great conversation as the time pasted. She did an awesome job with the cut, wash and styling of my hair. The price point is a bit higher than my usual cut/wash in South Jersey, but it is quite reasonable for being in the middle of the City...and last minute. I was able to attend my evening event looking respectable and sharp. I would definitely return if in that same predicament. Lastly, she also does straight edge shave w/warm towel. read more

Cassie is A+. The words of my review very much echo that of the previous clients that have visited Cassie. I stopped in for a beard trim/shape-up, since I have started to grow my beard out, there have only been two barbers/stylist that I have ever worked with for a proper shape-up, Cassie is that second barber. Her approach of explaining her methodology is very much appreciated. The dialogue she facilitates, managed to put me at ease, while also demonstrating the abundance of knowledge and experience she has. This being my first visit, this was a huge gamble; one that paid off tremendously well. If a simple cut and trim is what you are looking for, then this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a proper experience that leaves you walking out looking your best. Then cross your fingers and hope Cassie has an open slot available read more

I was always one of those guys that walked out of hair cut appointments lukewarm (at best ) with ANY hair cut I had ever got. At ANY price point in ANY city! Growing up i wore glasses and inevitably i would be told to remove them during the cut, usually resulting in not seeing my haircut until i put my glasses back on.... at the end of the cut! Even after i got contacts i still had the worst luck explaining what i wanted and getting it consistently. From my first appointment with Cassie, she not only nailed a perfect cut for me, but she also did something no male barber has done yet; she gave me a straight razor shave that didn't result in raw skin or break outs the next day. To this day I have yet to experience that old hair cut PTSD for appointments with Cassie. The resulting confidence in myself and in her work has even led to my first adventure in processed hair color (silver)! I honestly can't see myself going anywhere else after my time spent in her chair and will always suggest her to anyone who seriously inquires about adding a barber to their life. read more

Absolutely loved my experience here. Cassie and the rest of the staff were extremely welcoming & super courteous. I've been getting so many compliments on my undercut that Cassie was able to clean up & make nice & neat for me. This is one place that I'll definitely be going back to - also, a major plus is its a few blocks from my work establishment. read more

James Harden is to "The Beard" in Basketball what Cassie is to The Beard in barbering, trimming and shaving. She took my pandemic mess of a beard and transformed it into a thing of beauty. She is a true artiste. I have had a beard for over 25 years and Cassie is by leaps and bounds the best person to ever put scissors to my facial hair in all those years. Cassie was great! I had just got back from a European trip and was only going to be in NY for a day before heading to Miami. I didn't know what I wanted to do with my beard so booked an appt with Cassie. She happened to be available the same day and was very informative as far as what I should do with my beard. She was very attentive and made sure that I was comfortable the whole time. I must say that I've been to many places to get my beard done and hands down Cassie is the best!! When I am back in New York I will definitely book another appt with her! read more

Got a haircut and beard trim the week before my wedding. Cassie listened to everything I wanted and made excellent recommendations when I was clueless. It was delight, and I usually dread haircuts. Cassie recently cut my hair here and instantly became my new barber. She is meticulous, yet swift. She makes sure to give you the cut that you want, but is also happy to offer her expertise. My cut: - fade on the sides and back - longer on top - beard shaved and lined up Cassie can do it all! :) read more

Cassie is very talented and worth every penny. That's all there is to it. She changed my hair-life.

I messaged Cassie from Yelp while flying into NY. My request was simply: "I arrive in the city at 7PM - do you have any openings for a beard trim and shave tonight?" Cassie was not able to make the appointment work and asked me if the next day would work - a few minutes later, she messaged me that she was able to adjust her schedule and scheduled an appointment at 8PM. The service was great - when you are working on your beard, you don't want short cuts or lack of attention to detail - she was great. Everything was perfect - from the scissor work, to the buzz work, to the hot towel, to the straight edge work to the cold towel - top notch all the way around. I highly recommend and will be back. read more

Cassie is amazing. Right off the bat, she was very responsive on Yelp. Then I went to her for the first time to get my hair styled for my wedding (later that day). We talked for a bit about what I was looking for, showed her some pictures, and she went to work, explaining what she was doing and why. She clearly knows what she's talking about and was about to walk the walk, my hair looked amazing, perfect for my special day, it kept its shape the entire day and I got numerous compliments. So affordable too! I signed up for the 15 minute/$25 shape up appointment and it was everything I could have asked for. Could not recommend more. Yay Cassie!! read more
