1) (international) booking : I was visiting New York and booked my appointment in advance. Since I couldn't leave my own phone number cause it wasn't an American one I left hotel information and it was not a problem at all 2) finding the place : this woulda been tricky because it is kinda hidden / private but I got messaged on the day of my appointment with very clear instructions on how to get there. With that it was easy. Nice service to get those clear instructions as well. 3) atmosphere : coming in to the shop I was greeted heartedly. As mentioned before it is kind of a private place and you get that feeling as well when you come in. It really is a nice place with an amazing atmosphere. The people working there seem like a family to one another. Very pleasant feeling all around being there. 4) the service / cut itself : without any doubt my favourite barber experience of all time. Before getting started we talked about what we wanna do in detail and I really felt understood. Besides that the consultation was extraordinary. You immediately could tell that she is an expert in what she does. The end result was simply amazing. Throughout the cut she always made sure that we were going the right direction and that I was satisfied. That is haircut and beard trim btw. 5) extras : I've already praised the actual things you are looking for in a barber shop but what stood out for me as well was the personality. Often times when you go to a barber I feel like they are just focussed on getting the job done and only talk to you about the cut or with their coworkers. That was not the case whatsoever here. We had a really nice conversation the entire time talking about basically anything. Time just flew past. I honestly wished it would've gone on for longer simply because I had such a great time. Furthermore I received valued advice on what products to use with the structure of my hair. I also bought a product she used to style my hair after the cut was done, but I didn't get the impression that she was trying hard to sell me the product. She simply adviced me to use it or something similar if it wasn't available in my country. After buying the actual product she also told me that if I ever had any questions I could always message her and ask away. So I really have nothing bad to say about this place. If you are in New York and looking for a high quality haircut and / or beard trim I highly recommend checking this place out. You will not be disappointed. Was in the unable to make a visit to my usual barbers in Jersey, so I was in Midtown and had a couple of hours to spare and looked up barbers in the Midtown West area on Yelp of course!! I found BTB Studios around the corner from my location with 5-star rating and stellar review feedback. Called them up, they were very friendly and professional on the phone, they had an opening at that time. They provided the detailed directions and I found the place instantly. I arrived and met Cassie. They greet you warmly as you walk in and offered a drink. I quickly sat down and told Cassie what I wanted. She got to work like a pro and carried on a great conversation as the time pasted. She did an awesome job with the cut, wash and styling of my hair. The price point is a bit higher than my usual cut/wash in South Jersey, but it is quite reasonable for being in the middle of the City...and last minute. I was always one of those guys that walked out of hair cut appointments lukewarm (at best ) with ANY hair cut I had ever got. At ANY price point in ANY city! Growing up i wore glasses and inevitably i would be told to remove them during the cut, usually resulting in not seeing my haircut until i put my glasses back on.... at the end of the cut!
