A visit lasts 1 hour, and meter parking is in front or free on the side streets. They accept credit cards and the entire staff is always comforting and professional. A friend recommended Dr. Jing after multiple MCs. After acupuncture and herbal tea, she gave birth naturally at 40. Upon research, Dr. Jing used to be an OBGYN in Beijing before moving to the US and is now a Professor of TCM at multiple colleges. The doctors here are familiar with IVF clinics and practice and offer valuable insight throughout. I've been coming here on a weekly basis (sometimes bi-weekly) since June 2018. My regimen was to drink a daily herbal tea & weekly acupuncture to combat endometriosis and get pregnant. 9/10 times I fall asleep with the needles in my face, scalp, neck, hand, stomach, legs, and feet. I switched to Dr. Lim due to the cost per visit as it's been over 1 year of treatment. I can say with confidence that all of the doctors are professional and kind. After 14 months, 1 laparoscopy and 2 egg retrievals and 2 FETs, I am now pregnant at age 38. I also saw Dr. Hart for cupping when I came down with a cold/flu. I highly recommend the yellow travel pills at the onset of getting sick. They totally work at preventing full blown illness, and I recovered much faster than usual with less phlegm/mucus and zero downtime. I have only gotten semi-sick one time since beginning treatment here. I believe that TCM currently accepts Blue Shield of CA PPO Silver and above. TCM will gladly provider a superbill for other providers, but expect to be denied by ASH. I also saw certain A list actors here on occasion so if it's good enough for them...it's surely good for me too!

I'm writing this with great disappointment because when I first started seeing Dr. Miao at TCM, I…read morewas very pleased with my care and experience. The office staff is very polite, too. My doula recommended this practice for acupuncture to help encourage labor because my husband and I were planning a home birth and hoped to avoid reaching the point where we would need to transfer to a hospital. We saw her three times without labor starting, even while trying other natural induction methods. We assumed my baby and body simply weren't ready yet, and I did not blame the acupuncture care I was receiving. At my latest appointment, I was approximately 41 weeks and 3-5 days pregnant, depending on which medical professional's due date we were following. Our maternal-fetal medicine specialist had told us that the baby's monitoring results were reassuring, including the amniotic fluid, non-stress test, umbilical cord blood flow, and estimated weight. Our midwife recommended trying electroacupuncture and leave-in press tacks. When I saw Dr. Miao, I asked for those specific treatments. She refused the leave-in press tacks because, in her opinion, they weren't necessary. She also kept urging me to go to the hospital for the birth because I was past my due date. I tried to explain that our midwife would not deliver our baby at home if I reached 42 weeks and would insist on transferring care to the hospital. A hospital birth was already our backup plan, and there is a hospital approximately a mile from our home. We had discussed and planned for this possibility. Despite my explanation, she continued talking about the baby gaining weight, there not being enough space for him to move, and my size potentially making birth dangerous for both of us. She also mentioned possible health problems later in his life if he became too big. These were alarming statements, and I did not feel she clearly explained how they applied to my pregnancy, particularly given our recent specialist's assessment. I understand that larger babies can present risks, but broad statements about size and future health did not help me understand her concerns. My brother was born weighing 9 pounds, and a friend's brother was born vaginally, weighing 10 pounds; both are now adults without known health issues. Those experiences do not establish what is safe for my baby, but they are part of why I wanted a specific explanation rather than generalized warnings. At that point, we had only a few days remaining before our planned transfer deadline. I kept gently asking about the leave-in press tacks, but she continued refusing and told me to get on the table. Part of me felt I should leave and find another acupuncturist, but I went ahead with the electroacupuncture treatment, which was fine. What left a bad taste in my mouth was the conversation surrounding it. Her repeated warnings felt like fear-mongering to me, and I felt that she dismissed the monitoring, professional care, and backup plan we already had in place. I was looking for support and clear explanations, and instead left feeling unheard and pressured. I contacted my midwife afterward, and she recommended another acupuncturist in our area. After speaking with him, he confirmed that he was willing to offer the treatments we had requested. I appreciated my earlier visits and the polite office staff, but this appointment significantly changed my opinion of the practice. I will be seeking care elsewhere.

I always had eczema growing up but very small patches that would come and go. But not until I got sick I went to Kaiser and they gave me some antibiotics and I was taking them almost every month for 3 months and then I started to get eczema all over my upper body. So I went to countless of dermatologist at Kaiser and 2 holistic doctors but of course Kaiser kept prescribing the same thing. Which was steroids whether it was pills or creams. I even took two to three shots of a biologic called adbry. I had it all over my chest to my arms and even my ears and scalp it was painful and oozing all the time I didn't know what to do to stop the oozing. I also had it on my face. I would not be able to shower every day and if I did it had to be quick and I needed help washing my hair. They took care of me a lot here I vouched 100% for the herbal medicine and their care. I took maybe about 4 to five boxes of it and almost after two months I was feeling sooo much better. Of course everyone's body is different, I learned so much about my body and what to do when it came to my diet and they answered all of my questions that I was curious about. I'm still not 100% healed but there is no more red inflamed skin covered on my arms and no more oozing! And now I'm able to slowly reintroduce the food I wasn't able to eat during treatment. I definitely recommend coming to ty wellness center for anyone dealing with tsw or eczema. And my prayers go out there to anyone going through this tough journey and hope it gets better because it will! I know at first you don't see results right away but they start coming a little day by day.The herbal medicine is what helped me the most! Even though it was kinda pricey I thought it was worth my health. I only got up to 3 sessions of acupuncture which was pretty relaxing too.

I found Dr. Chen during one of the most difficult times of my life…read more After a medical diagnosis, my nervous system seemed to go haywire, and I developed severe insomnia. At one point, I was unable to sleep at all. I was extremely averse to medication and initially refused any treatment. I found Dr. Chen and began acupuncture. I still wasn't sleeping, but after a few sessions, Dr. Chen gently advised me that I should consider taking medication. Because I trusted him, I listened. I took a short course of medication, and eventually I went back to sleeping like a baby. Dr. Chen was there throughout my entire period of suffering and healing, and I credit his expertise in acupuncture as an important part of my recovery. Before finding Dr. Chen, I had seen another acupuncturist who did absolutely nothing for me. The office was the definition of "Zen"--water sounds, beautiful scents, peaceful surroundings--and it cost a whole lot of money. And yet I was awake the entire time. Dr. Chen's office is the complete opposite. It is very no-frills, with bright lights and phones ringing. And somehow, every single time the needles are in, my body lets go. I enter what feels like a deep parasympathetic state and actually fall asleep or nap. Every. Single. Time. That, to me, says everything. You don't need a perfectly designed environment to relax when you are in the hands of someone whose expertise allows your body to feel safe. Dr. Chen was not only my acupuncturist during an incredibly difficult chapter; he was someone I trusted when I was scared and didn't know what to do. I am deeply grateful that I found him. I love him and his wife Jenny and refer everyone to them!

I tired compression braces, aleve, Icy hots, Solonpas patch's, yoga rollers, exercises and I kept re-injuring my lower back (3rd time). When I made my first visit I was on my 7th day of recovery and was not able to stand straight without a compression brace. Lower back was completely loosened after visit. 2nd visit I was able to move with full motion, no back brace. I stand all day and do mfg work so I highly recommend this place if you need to recover fast. Price was very affordable, since I spent about $125 at target for all the braces and medication. My lower back loosened up in one visit and I had a second to fully be able to twist. I feel I had a lot of pressure release with the acupuncture and cupping. You can feel the relief if you are hurting really bad. Highly recommended thank you CYY!

Yo San has changed dramatically…read more For many years, it was a truly special place, and I received excellent care from a number of practitioners there. Some wonderful practitioners remain, which makes what happened all the more disappointing. In over three decades as a patient, I never had a significant issue until recently, when I had an interaction with a practitioner that left me feeling genuinely unsafe and deeply unsettled. Had it ended there, I likely would have viewed it as an unfortunate but isolated experience. What shocked me was the response from management. Rather than approaching the situation with curiosity, balance, or a genuine effort to understand what occurred, I felt that my concerns were dismissed and the entire situation was reframed in a way that bore little resemblance to my experience. The Yo San I knew was built on principles of compassion, healing, self-reflection, and open communication. The institution's response to this situation felt inconsistent with those values. Patients should know that there are still talented practitioners at Yo San. However, my experience with management left me questioning whether the culture of the organization still reflects the principles that originally made it such a respected and unique place.
