I knew I was at a different kind of Subaru dealership when one of their first concerns was making sure I had a loaner car. If you've dealt with some Subaru dealerships around this area, you know a loaner can sometimes feel like you're asking them to hand over the keys to the owner's personal car. Beyer Subaru was the complete opposite. The space was clean, the service was quick and efficient, and being so close to D.C. makes the location incredibly convenient. Jonathan took great care of me from start to finish and made the whole experience easy. I really appreciate the service, Jonathan. I'll definitely be back. read more

My Subaru had a check engine light and it turned out to be a part covered by Subaru through an extended warranty. I now work in Alexandria so I reached out to Beyer Subaru. It was easy to schedule an appointment and get service. Sandie helped me out from start to finish and I received excellent customer service. I didn't bring my kid with me but I liked they had a kid play area. And this isn't specific to Beyer Subaru but I'll say I have owned two Subaru Foresters for better part of the last decade and they have been great, reliable vehicles. read more

I strongly recommend not purchasing a vehicle from Beyer Subaru of Alexandria based on my experience. I purchased a 2016 Subaru Outback, and within the first 30 days the battery failed. I then had the vehicle inspected by an independent mechanic, who found the tires were dry-rotted and advised they should not have passed a Virginia safety inspection. When I brought these concerns to the dealership, the Head Service Manager simply stated the tires passed inspection and offered no assistance. As a result, I had to purchase a new set of tires at my own expense. I expected a Subaru dealership to stand behind its inspection process and the vehicles it sells. Instead, I was left paying for major safety-related items almost immediately after purchase. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Beyer Subaru of Alexandria and would encourage anyone shopping for a used vehicle to have any used vehicle independently inspected before buying. read more

Really disappointed in the maintenance/service that i've been getting here at Beyer Subaru nowadays, as they used to be so much better. I feel like the atmosphere is very drab, people aren't quick to move, so I end up staying here for hours on end for services that should be more efficient. I had a service done here a few months ago and ended up staying all day. No one told me it would take that long, no one recommended that I maybe take a loaner, and at the end of it all, they had me take a loaner because they never got to my car. As a courtesy, they gave me a "free detailing". When I came back, they never got to the detailing and by the last hour of when they were open, they ended up doing a super quick job (albeit a fairly bad job) in detailing the car. It wasn't even worth the courtesy service for their inefficient services. I'm so disappointed in how long they've been taking to do routine maintenance. Every time I would check in and ask, the service advisor would not necessarily own up and take accountability. Even state safety inspections are estimated to take 2 (or more) hours, despite how early you may schedule your appointment. Since the intense downturn, I've been taking my car to another Subaru dealership, which has been a much more pleasant experience. Please do better, Beyer Subaru. You were once so great. read more

A dealership that's both pleasant and laidback. Jay was incredibly knowledgeable about the new 2025 Forrester Hybrid, answered all my questions and I truly felt like he was looking out for my best interest. His manager Pete shined bright as well as they both were Jay super patient and transparent. Not pushy at all!! They worked out an awesome offer and looking forward to working with them in the future. I think it's rare to find a team that's this straightforward & respectful. If you're in the market for a Subaru, this is 100% the place to go. read more

I wanted to take a moment to sing the praises of the team at Beyer who assisted me with my most recent purchase. If I could give more than five stars, I would. They turned what could have been a disappointing experience into something far beyond my expectations. I work in insurance and deal with a lot of dealerships that don't always have their act together. That was not the case here. Omer, Angel, and Pete were a total delight to work with, and every person I interacted with was kind, professional, and helpful throughout the entire process. This was an out-of-state purchase, and they made transferring my plates through the MVA seamless. Beyer will definitely be my go-to going forward, and I'll be recommending this team to all of my clients. Thank you, guys, for everything--I love my new car! read more

One of the best experiences we've had with a dealer, the team is professional, responsive, capable, and absolutely lovely. They work hard to fit us in - even at the busiest times- are always quick to furnish us with a loaner or a round trip uber. The customer service and mechanical services are excellent! read more

I am extremely satisfied with the service department and the dealership as a whole. Owning a Subaru has been a great experience.

My son and I were interested in a used 2016 Subaru Crosstrek Premium we saw online, we spoke with Mario and wanted to see said vehicle that afternoon, but Mario asked us to waiting until Saturday morning so he could attend a dance recital. Fine, we understand, assuming the vehicle would be held for us to see. The following morning, it was cold, and windy with a severe wind chill, (coldest day of the year in early February?) drove 10 miles and made the appointment, only to find out the vehicle was sold the night before. Is this a way to treat a customer? Couldn't Mario have passed us to another salesman? It's too bad I can't give negative stars!! read more

Great experience today from start to finish! Entering the service lane I'm met with a super friendly advisor that was super transparent and informative with wait times and what exactly was getting done to my vehicle. Did a little walking around . The receptionist, parts clerk and even the sale team just super friendly. Did not feel like a dealership at all from what I'm used to. The entire team was focused on making sure me and my son were comfortable during our wait. If you have a Subaru and you're tired of going to a dealership and having a dreaded time definitely this place a visit. They have surely gained my business and I will be returning again !!! read more

By far the worst customer service this morning. We usually come in and get sandy. Sandy is great, professional, keeps us informed, and is a true problem solver. This time we had the misfortune of dealing with Shay - yes that's right DEALING WITH (because she treated us like an inconvenience). From the moment we pulled into the garage we noticed that she begrudgingly was willing to help us and didn't even bother to say hello. Immediately started barking our existing reservation out loud with no mannerisms. ZERO SOFT SKILLS. Worse, we get to the desk and the entire time treats our maintenance appointment like an inconvenience. It's like we had asked her to do the maintenance herself! We weren't even looking for a special service to get done to our car. Just appalling. Won't be returning to Shay unless they can guarantee me that Sandy or someone else is willing to take our car. read more

We had the best experience at Beyer today. My daughter lives in Virginia attending college for the next 2 years and we wanted her in an AWD Subaru Crosstrek. Not being able to physically help her while in California she was on her own setting up a new lease agreement. I can't say enough good things about her experience. The salesman, PETE BADER, treated her so well, explained everything and made her feel very comfortable. Leases can be a little confusing and complicated and Pete went above and beyond getting her the best deal compared with the other three Subaru dealers in the area. I highly recommend this dealership if you're looking for a new or used Subaru and ask for Pete. He'll take care of you and not waste your time. Thank you Beyer Subaru and thank you Pete! read more

I always choose Beyer Subaru where i got my 2020 Forester Touring. I prefer this location for car maintenance etc. Today , i went for a change oil, After two hours the gentlemen who's assisting me came and say everything was good except for old wipers , i keep waiting and waiting , it was almost 3 hours but my car hasn't done yet. I asked and he said it's coming out soon. I admit i'm being impatient because it never happens before, they should tell me what was the reason, the hold out, or why it took longer but no words , i've seen people come and go, i've seen people who came later than myself but they had left already, i've been waiting for more minutes and finally it's done! I told him why it takes forever to finish and it was never happened before, here's the thing that made me upset, instead of him telling me sorry for the delay, He said i wasn't the only one who has a car for service??? I choose this location for a good service and i make the appointment to avoid delay, If they are fully booked why they took my appointment? Correct me if i am wrong here but i got so pissed off with this guy! Manager of Beyer Subaru should pay attention to their employee 's behavior as well. My car service is not free and it's not even cheap i deserved a fair treatment. Emily read more

I can not believe the high cost of service Beyers Service department. I went in for an oil change and safety check and ended up paying $647. They wouldn't pass my safety because light bulbs, the little ones that goes around the actual lights. The headlights were functioning fine. They charged me $43.98 to put in a $3.40 bulb twice, quoting the lightbulb cost over the phone as being $43.98, not mentioning the actual bulb cost. They charged me $157 labor for putting a battery in. They wanted me to do a Premium Service that would have double charged the battery check, tire rotation and oil change. The service department is unclear about the actual costs of items. read more

We went to Beyer Subaru to check out new 2024 Outbacks last weekend. Chris from the sales team took the time to walk us through all of the trim levels and options, do thorough test drives and make sure that we felt we had the right information to go home, talk about it and make a good decision. We did some additional research and decided which options we wanted, and came back tonight to purchase the vehicle we chose. End to end, it was the absolute most pleasant car buying experience I've ever had. We so appreciated the time Chris took with us to help us make an informed decision that we feel great about. Bought a new 2025 Subaru Outback Limited XT from Peter (a Sales Manager) and Dash yesterday. Earlier in the day, I had tried to buy the same car - but different color - from Sheehy Subaru, but had a very unpleasant, "bait-and-switch" situation, so I left. Went directly to Beyer and bought the car. I had a wonderful, transparent, honest, straightforward and quick buying experience, and received a better price and better trade in value than Sheehy originally offered (even before they reduced the trade in value). Peter and Dash were efficient, clear, professional and transparent, with no games or hassles / haggling. Great deal; great experience; was in and out in just over 60 minutes. Was the third car we bought from Beyer - only went to Sheehy for the color my wife wanted. Never again. read more

We are a Subaru family, my wife has a 21 Forester, I have a 21 Outback, and we are in the process of purchasing as 24 Crosstrek for my daughter. The salesman was Pete for all purchases, he listened to what we were looking for and very helpful. When the cars need services, from oil changes to regular maintenance work, we see Sandy. She keeps us informed as to the status of the service and if anything "pops" up, she lets us know. We will continue to deal with Beyer Subaru, now and in the future. read more

Wow, I don't think I can go to any other spot to get my husband's Subaru serviced! Very easy to get to and check in. Employees were efficient and friendly. They did heavily suggest I add on one of the premium service packages but once I declined they didn't press it any further which I appreciated. They offer pick up and loaner cars but I opted to wait while service was done. I had a recall repair and added on a standard oil change. They gave me a time estimate and showed me to the spacious and comfortable waiting area. Two large TVs but not playing too loudly so I could read my book in peace. There were also plenty of magazines as well as packaged snacks, fresh popcorn, water, tea, and coffee. I really am writing the bulk of this review on the waiting room but it was a very enjoyable and easy experience for me overall! After staying home for so many months this felt like a vacation I definitely won't be going back to the previous location I went to with a small outdoor waiting area! Masks aren't required if you're vaccinated and I noticed an employee thoroughly sanitizing the areas while I was there. I highly recommend this location! read more

My current 2008 car died suddenly so I went to Beyer Subaru after it we recommended to me by friends. The people there were friendly and welcoming. The moment this dealership cashes your check, they don't care about you as a customer, so I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere if you want a good car-buying experience. I purchased and picked up my car in April 2022 and I'm STILL (as of July 2022) waiting for my title and license plates. The salesmen I've been working with have been unreliable and did not submit all of my paperwork to their title and tax team, despite sending it to them virtually THEN BRINGING IT IN PERSON. My bank is now saying my loan is going to go into default if they don't get my title, yet Beyer Subaru doesn't seem to care. If I could return my car so I could go to another dealership, I would. I've gotten three temporary tags from them, and not ONCE when i went into their dealership did they mention I was "missing paperwork." Do yourself a favor and do not go to Beyer Subaru if you want a pleasant car-buying experience. read more

Bought a Subaru in March. The sales reps are amazing! Very knowledgeable and friendly. The day we bought the car was awesome and it was seamless and one of the best car buying experiences I've had. From there it all went downhill. They didn't pay off my trade in until 30 days later. I almost had to make another payment on a car I no longer owned and they had already sold to someone else because they failed to pay it off. It took multiple phone calls to them and for them to overnight the payment for them to make it right. The worst part was tag and title. We bought the car in mid March and now it's mid July and I finally got my license plate situated. They were supposed to simply transfer the tag. Six weeks went by and no new registration. My temp tag had long expired. I have to call them. They send another temp tag. That expires. Still no registration. I have to call multiple times, leave multiple messages. Then I get a call that my new tags are in. I call and explain that we were transferring tags. They are disabled veteran tags and they gave me traditional tags. They don't know what to do. It's another 3 weeks of phone tag before someone ultimately admits that they can't fix it. No apologies. Just an oh well. So we had to spend an entire day at the DMV with my disabled husband to get the plates corrected. They were able to fix it immediately and had no clue why the dealership messed up as bad as they did. The worst part for me was that I had to constantly call them and stay on top of it and they took zero responsibility for the error. I'd still be driving around on expired temp tags. It's a shame because the sales team is amazing but the management is for crap read more

This is a great spot to get your Subie all fixed up! I've been here a couple of times, and can't complain. The customer experience is great - you are welcomed when you drive up and the technicians make it easy for you to understand what's going on. The waiting room they have is really nice - fresh popcorn and candy, plus some good ol' daytime TV while you wait :) When I was there last time, they offered to check the ambient temperature sensor that seemed like it was acting up after I had my car fixed. They offered to order the part and get it fixed whenever I had the time. It turned out that the sensor was fine, but I really appreciated the extra effort they took to make sure that the car was in tip-top shape. I'll keep coming back here as long as I'm in the area. Thanks, Beyer! read more

I bought a 2023 Subaru Outback here in late 2022. Purchase experience was very good. I was told that one service would be free each year. On year two I was told that I never was told such a thing. Strike 1. My car with 6700 mile on it started having electrical issues, shutting down without warning, warning lights on, losing connection with Eyesight system. I made an appointment, but called, since I will be leaving town in 4 days for an extended period. I was told an appointment did not mean they would actually diagnose my car, they still had cars backed up for a week. It is still on warranty, which I don't want to run out. It was suggested I try another dealership, which I did and they can diagnose it as a drive in within 2 hours. Strike 2. I guess I found a new dealership for the new Subaru I was planning to purchase (but might not if this issue is any indication). read more

I love my Outback. If you own a Subaru it's important that you take it to the right shop. I needed some real expertise to give my 100k car another 100k. As we l know , Subaru's can go 250 to 300k.. I like to save money and get the best mechanics possible. So I've ventured. Let me save you time. Go to Beyers Subaru and bypass a long journey. They made my car drive like new and even wash it. I purchased a used automobile from Beyer and was remiss in looking it over carefully. Noted on the paperwork was a small accident. The damage was not apparent when I went to see the car but as I am driving it, the damage is more apparent. The car was taken on a trade-in and was not badly dirty but it was obvious that it had not been washed nor cleaned which I believe is routine and standard procedure. I find this transaction was sloppy and leaves something to be desired. This is also a disappointment as a relative also purchased a used vehicle which was a successful transaction. read more

HORRIBLE. I traded my Volkswagen for a Subaru at Beyer in December 2020. They messed up and didn't even try to get the VW car title, so I continued to receive monthly bills from VW. I had to call 4 - 5 times to get Beyer to request the title, and finally mid-April they got it. I've gone through this exact process with Toyota years ago and did not have these problems. This is clearly a Beyer Subaru mess. When they took over my lease, they told me that Beyer would now be responsible for all payments on that VW vehicle going forward (common sense). NOW they are telling me that because that transaction happened 7-days before my next monthly payment they are not going to pay that bill. Now they're saying they needed to have 10-days advanced warning. Nightmare. read more

Very disappointed with my recent car sales experience at this dealership. You cannot trust them to deliver on their word. At first I was impressed with the salesperson following up politely, not pushy, on my on line inquiry in my search. He checked in via text and proposed at car at a pretty good price, enticing me to make the hour long journey to the dealership and offered, in writing, a 100,000 mile certified dealership warranty since the car, while new, had been purchased and then returned because the owner wanted a different car. Once I arrived and test drove the car, he said he could not offer the extended warranty! I was shocked and asked why he could not honor his word. He said that it would cost the dealership an extra $1,200 to extend that warranty. So instead he agreed to offer a back seat cover (Subaru accessory) to protect the light colored cloth seats to make up for what he said was 'his mistake'. I accepted and bought the car. Yet when the car was delivered a few days later to my home, the back seat cover was not in the car. He promised to order the cover and send it to my house. It's been a couple of weeks and I still haven't received it, and the salesperson is ignoring my calls and texts asking when it will arrive. read more
