I am a proud disabled U.S. veteran and current resident at Bexley and I am formally notifying you that this property is in serious decline due to ongoing neglect, safety hazards, and daily violations of the U.S. Flag Code; trees and shrubs are dying from excessive "volcano" mulching and fungal growth caused by piling new mulch on old without removal, grass is never fertilized, bushes are shredded with weed whackers and planted crookedly, my breezeway has never been properly power-washed, my door has no proper weather stripping (only incorrect window stripping was installed), the promised nameplate and signage for my reserved handicapped space have never appeared, a bird nest has hung over my door for months despite nesting season being long over, exterminator requests go ignored while baseball-sized spiders swarm my entrance, the American and North Carolina flags are tattered, faded, ripped, and were never lowered to half-mast on September 11 despite the presidential order -- a daily disgrace to veterans -- abandoned vehicles sit without plates, trespassers cross the property daily to the neighboring daycare with management's approval, a used condom has hung on a bush for weeks, garbage is routinely ignored, maintenance staff Ruben has spied on residents, attempted to pet my service dog against rules, and performed unauthorized auto repairs, Manager John has ignored my emails for weeks and threatened that I cannot renew my lease (which your own supervisor confirmed only Headquarters can decide), Samantha improved slightly after one training day but nothing else has changed, the only decent employee appears to be Mack (a claimed fellow veteran who has not stood up for me), John seems aware he is one mistake from termination, and I have now reached my limit; I genuinely want to help you, Mr. Weinstein, but unless these issues are promptly addressed and a formal apology issued, this written complaint will be forwarded to my U.S. Senator's office, the North Carolina Attorney General, code enforcement, and veterans' advocacy organizations. Beware of Bexley at Heritage Apartment community. If there was less than a one star option this property would have received it. These apartments are absolutely disgusting. The walkways and stairwells are infested with spiders and my unit actually had spider webs in every window well when we moved in. The first night I walked into the bathroom and a spider the size of a quarter dollar was in the corner. Not to mention waking up with a spider on the wall about three inches from my face. When I called the property manager, she calmly said that she 'needs to work on a power washing project'. That was a month ago. The same week we moved in the trash compactor was not working, but they had placed another huge dumpster in the parking lot (in front of a building) as a solution. Less than three weeks later the trash compactor is broken again, this time an email went out saying there is no place to dispose of trash - and management is suspending the valet trash that residents pay an additional fee for services. Residents are to keep all trash in their apartments until further notice. No timeframe given. There is trash all over the area, spilling out into the parking lot and now the street. Let's now add rats and cockroaches to the equation, not to mention a serious health code violation. Now for the actual condition of the apartment. We have a 3 bedroom and it is completely falling apart. This place is so disgusting a write up will not do it justice. The bathtubs both had black streaks running down the shower prefab inserts, not to mention dirt and grime all over them. The bathroom counters and floors had hair all over them, including huge hairballs in the corners. I have spent hunderds of dollars on rugs to cover the floors because even after thoroughly bleaching them multiple times, I still will not allow my family to walk on them barefoot. The counters are so old that the particle board is pulling away from the formica and the cabinets are gummy to the touch. The kitchen cabinets are covered with food particles that have been there for so long no amount of bleach could get them off. The refrigerator is so old the handles are yellow (supposed to be white), the fixed bottom shelf is cracked down the middle and of course there is food residue all over it. I will not keep anything but prepacked, sealed food in this place. We cannot cook in the kitchen it is so absolutely disgusting and we are going out to eat or getting take out for every meal. I even put all my dishes, pots, pans and bakeware back in storage and we are living off of paper plates until we can get out of here. When I contacted management to let them know how unsanitary it was they told me they had it cleaned 4 times and I could always enact my 14 day clause and move out. On top of unsanity condition of the apartment, we also have a first floor unit that does not have locking bedroom windows on both kids rooms. We notified management the day we moved in and were told maintenance would come out. We went out and purchased 'screamer alarms' and installed on all the windows. A week later, no response from maintenance and we had to go into the office and bring someone over to see the issues. They actually took pictures and maintenance couldn't fix it. TWO WEEKS later someone came out to measure for new windows and was appauled that they had not installed temporary locks. The window rep was going to discuss the temporary lock options with the office before he left. Again, nothing. We have been here 5 weeks now and the property management has not taken one step to ensure the safety of my family. My husband had to contact the regional manager, who never responded. The property manager then sent maintenance over with a few pieces of wood to put in the windows. My husband has been sleeping on the couch for 5 weeks so he can hear if someone breaks in. The negligent response to a safety issue that had been brought to their attention multiple times is a very big concern. The actual apartments here could be nice, but the property management, maintenance and upkeep on this complex has been severly neglected. I have lived in other Bexley Weinstein properties in the area in the past and had a very pleasant experience. It's a shame this property is being run into the ground. We will be moving out as soon as possible and I pray we make it through this experience. read more

This was by far the worst apartment or place in general that I have ever lived in in my entire life. The noise problems and quality of construction is the worst I have ever experienced in my life. I did not sleep a single night for an entire year. It took a toll on my health. Let's say some good things first. There's an electric charging station if you have an electric car like most people don't. There's a tiny dog park so your dog can play. It's close to amenities such as grocery stores within walking distance, and the greenway is within biking distance. I say the positives so you know I am being genuine with this review. Not every place is 100% bad. There were no roaches, or bed bugs that I knew of. There's a decent sized pool, although it's closed much of the time. However, the good ends there. First, the noise. There are extreme noise issues. On Yelp and other places the valid reviews about noise have been filtered, while the fake positive reviews remained. Same with other sites which unfortunately are full of fake positive reviews. Bexley and Ardmore use fake positive reviews to fool people into a long and expensive, overpriced lease with awful, extremely loud apartments. Even 10 hours of laying awake in bed per night and I walked around like a zombie having not gotten enough sleep. It was often too dangerous to drive, because sleep deprivation is as bad as being drunk (proven by Mythbusters). Thus I could not work at a job requiring a lot of driving. You can hear everything from all the neighbors. You can hear every car door slam all day and all night. You can constantly hear the cars with loud mufflers vibrating the whole complex as they drive through the complex. It is impossible to sleep. It's so loud that upon moving in, on my first day as I was bringing my first items up the stairs, I actually had a friendly-looking neighbor approach me and threaten that if I made noise, they would call the police. Apparently the previous tenants constantly fought and had the police called on them more than once. Of course, I am a quiet person, so I never had that woman call the police on me or even complain to me at all, but now I understand why she was so concerned about noise, because this place is a nightmare to live in because it's so noisy. The trash compactor goes off constantly morning and night. The street racers can be heard continually at all hours because the quality of the walls are so poor that every ounce of noise comes right through as if the windows were open, although they are all closed. The trash compactor is extremely smelly so that it smells like a sewer walking to or from your car, wafting hundreds of feet even to the grills area. You can't go around it. Truly disgusting, not to mention unsanitary. The bugs are really bad in the breezeways. Unlike Ardmore, Bexley never powerwashes the breezeways to eliminate the lie and dead bugs strewn all over the breezeways, despite promising to do so on movein. Do not believe their lies! In a full year, they did it once, and only because the dead bugs had gotten so horrendous that there were many complaints. The bugs were dead not because they exterminated, because the apartment refused to exterminate. Instead, the residents had to exterminate the breezeways themselves since the apartment refused to do it. If you need something fixed, good luck with that. It was decent at first, but then they got new management that nickel and dimes everything and refuses to even replace a broken bathroom fan despite acknowledging the issue, and then lie to the residents saying things are "on order" - for months. Right. Also the apartment size is deceptive, in fact it includes the outside patio in the square footage. The interior is about 20% smaller than the listed square footage. The doors to the front and the patio are not lined up, so that hot air blows in like a heater during the summer and cold air like a refrigerator in the winter, and the walls have no insulation. A 1200 square foot apartment had 250 to 300 per month utility bills. Upon moving to a bigger house with the same electric company and same things plugged in, the electric bill is only 50 per month - TOTAL. The AC broke several times when living there, and it took days to fix. The AC was constantly low on freon because they failed to install the freon, as the maintenance person told me. They came in my apartment and lowered my thermostat to 50 degrees on 80 degree days to try to "de-ice" it, but when I asked an HVAC company about this, they said that would only exacerbate the issue by adding more ice, and that the typical procedure would be to turn it off, not on the lowest possible setting. Proving incompetence and costing me money. The fridge is ancient, the dishwasher didn't get the dishes clean, and the water pressure was constantly extremely low. There is toxic mold causing health issues in the apartments, cockroaches, and management is a revolving door. There are a host of other problems wrong with this place that I won't get into here, but I'm speaking to any potential renters from my experience: look elsewhere. There are other smaller flaws you can deal with from other landlords, you don't have to deal with the serious health consequences that come from living here. read more

We relocated to NC last summer and we weren't sure how long we would be staying. One of the first things that appealed to us about Bexley was their flexibility with short or long term leases. Communication with the office staff, in general, was excellent. They sent out weekly emails to update us on renovations, notify us of unexpected closings, or to invite us to community events. The office also accepts packages delivered via the post office, UPS, or Fed-Ex, and they would always send an email when a package had arrived for us. The clubhouse was a fantastic amenity - open 24 hours a day, we could use their computers for printing or internet access, watch TV, or grab a coffee at the Starbucks coffee station. It also houses a fitness center, free to all residents, that had brand new equipment and free weights. The inside of the clubhouse was newly renovated when we moved in, and they continued making improvements while we were living there. The pool is fantastic also - the salt water was so refreshing in the hot Carolina sun and reminded us of the salt water ocean back home. The grounds themselves were immaculate and beautiful. Our apartment was quiet, peaceful, private, and aesthetically appealing. We rented a one bedroom, but it never felt too small - every inch of the square footage was used wisely. Laundry is also available in unit for a small monthly rental fee - about $40 - for a full-size washer and dryer. There are no other laundry facilities available, I do not believe. In addition, Bexley offers garage rentals - although there is usually a waiting list - for extra storage space. Maintenance was always responsive, especially when our A/C malfunctioned a few times. They typically arrive within hours and are kind and understanding. For circumstances unrelated to Bexley, we ended up moving back home only 10 months after moving there. Bexley was the one bright spot during our time in North Carolina. If for some reason we ever find ourselves back there, Bexley will be first on our list when finding a place to stay. read more

There are very few times in life with five children where I take the time out to write a review, however, I feel that Bexley Heritage deserves the time. Not only is the staff professional, the grounds beautiful, and the location great, but they also have a lot of new technologies that most places don't even think of. For example, they use salt instead of chlorine in the pool so it doesn't hurt the kids eyes but still keeps it clean. One of the staff members Jessica can be found handing out Popsicles or ice cream on any given weekend to all the children on a hot day. Overall I'm impressed with the cleanliness, staff, and spacious reasonably priced apartments which can fit all of my children during a visit to one of their favorite places, "Papa pool"!!! My mother and adult daughter moved into a first floor apartment last December. I visited twice now and cannot believe how noisy the apartment is and dirty the buildings are. The family above my mother sounds like they are coming through the roof and it starts early everyday. When the upstairs toilet flushes, the water sounds like it's flooding the inside walls because it's so very loud. My mother is son unhappy and is looking forward to moving out soon! read more

Bexley at Heritage is a great neighborhood with a very friendly and helpful staff! The apartments are nice and spacious with desirable shopping selections nearby. Wonderful community! I've lived here for 7 years and am only leaving because I am relocating back to South Florida. The maintenance team is awesome. In 7 years I've had extremely quick response time for simple tasks. I even had a heat problem one year when we had severe cold temps a few years ago but they came out late and had it fixed in minutes. I chose to also rent the garage for my boat and it has been fantastic as well. No problems. The staff up front is very friendly and the whole Weinstein Properties parent company will 'rotate' the staff around the few properties around the county to make sure everyone is familiar with ALL properties. The rents have increased at a very fair rate through the 7 years with only one year being a bit high but, overall, it's a great value with great neighbors. Having the two shopping centers across the street and having the Wake Forest Schools/Heritage Schools so close it is so convenient to drop my son off the weeks I have him with me. read more

overall apartments are wonderful. apperance wise theyve recently painted which isnt to pretty, my opinion. The back apartments are SNAKE INFESTED their all around apartment buildings and management says nothin can be done! The lady apart of the management team on site with the long black "witch looking" hair is VERY rude and rasict .
