Bev's Ice Cream is a great place to end a summer day! The ice cream is absolutely delicious, and the beautiful setting makes it the perfect spot to sit outside and enjoy a cone on a Saturday evening. One thing to know before you go, they have separate cash-only lines and card-payment lines. Both lines move slowly, but the cash line is shorter, so if you have cash, it may save you some time. I also really appreciated how they handled my food allergy. When I asked about sprinkles, the employee washed her hands and used a fresh container of sprinkles to help avoid cross-contamination. That extra care meant a lot and made me feel much more comfortable ordering. This is hands down one of my favorite ice cream shops now. There are so many delicious selections to choose from, ranging from hard ice cream, soft serve, a variety of toppings, shakes, frozen bananas, specialty cones and bowls, lemonade, slushies, Hawaiian shave ice, and more! I got a scoop of panda paws and a scoop of peanut butter chocolate with hot fudge, peanut butter sauce, and crunchies on top. It was so flavorful and the flavors blended together so well. My mom got soft serve chocolate and vanilla twist in a cone, my brother got vanilla soft serve in a cup, and my husband got a chocolate shake. Everyone enjoyed what they got very much. The staff were so friendly and quick which was a plus, and even though we went on a holiday Monday, it wasn't slammed with a long wait. We weren't sure if they were open or not since they made a social media post about the holiday, but didn't confirm in their post if they were open, closed, or had altered hours. We had to call a few times until someone answered and confirmed they were open. Parking is limited, but we were able to snag one of their reserved spots. I could see it being an issue if they're slammed, though, so be mindful of that. The outdoor seating available is beautiful and right on Lake Ontario. There are several picnic tables, benches, and an oversized Bev's chair! They also have lights strung up around their seating, which I bet looks beautiful in the night time, so I'll just have to make a night trip there one day. This place feels like vacation! It's right on Lake Ontario and has so many choices for ice cream. I got the French roast coffee ice cream because I was in the mood for an 'iced coffee'. It was SO delicious! The view is absolutely stunning! We ate our ice cream looking at the endless water of Lake Ontario. The service was friendly and helpful. They also have pup cups! A great spot by the lake for ice cream. I ordered the caramel praline turtle & it was definitely too sweet for me. My husband ordered the ice cream nachos but he felt he needed more ice cream to enjoy the rest of his waffle chips. We love going to Bevs for ice cream, it is super close to home and we love passing time eating ice cream by the water, the service is super fast even when it's super busy! There are plenty of tables to sit and enjoy your treat and you can also go for a walk around the area or skip rocks after your done eating, it's a great place to take kids. read more

Follow up to my review from last year, also known as my Ode to Peanut Butter: I was in town again this summer and rekindled my love for this place. Vanilla Flurry with peanut butter sauce and peanut butter cups. Still insane. I can't find a comparable example anywhere else. Something about the proportions maybe? It actually pains me to write this review. Years ago, Bev's was the place to go...if you were a local or a student. I have many memories here and I was excited to bring my boyfriend here today for his first time. Disappointment instantly set in. Bev's isn't homemade ice cream anymore as it once was. Now they serve "Perry's Ice Cream." It just wasn't good and took away that small town feel this place once had. The ice cream now tastes very commercialized. The nostalgic feeling is gone. read more

Bevs is the place spot to grab some frozen yogurt, sit on a bench and enjoy the beautiful views of Lake Ontario. Parking can sometimes be difficult, as it is located on Route 89 which can be fairly busy at times. People walk around the area with their dogs, solo or with their families. It is walking distant to Oswego's campus which is really convenient. The have a decent amount of flavors, but you can't go wrong with a vanilla cone with chocolate sprinkles, the best. They are only open from the end of April to the beginning of August, I believe. read more

A little off west campus. A nice place to walk your dog to or take a little stroll with your friends or if it's far for you, you can drive there because there's parking spots next to it. Lines do get freakishly long but if you're with friends the wait can be bearable. If you're impatient, the waiting can be too much for you. Ice cream is reasonably priced but not many varieties, just the basics really. The only thing that's really unique about it is the sizes of the ice cream and the 3 different cones. I would still recommend going because it would be a nice treat for the summer heat especially looking out to the beautiful lake view behind it. read more

Every lakeshore town needs an ice cream shack and this is one of Oswego's. Right along Lake Ontario and walking distance from SUNY, this summer 'shack' is a treat to try. Naturally, it's soft-serve ice cream with sprinkles but they have a wide variety of flavors and combinations including raspberry and strawberry swirl - all served with one of the best sunsets in North America - no kidding. read more
