Dang I like this little alcohol place. I mean it's not very little, it's quite big actually. I got their buy one buzz ball and get one for 5cent deal. I had to sign up for their loyalty program, which was a quick phone number text. Easy. And made for a great value. Workers were helpful and quick with locating what I wanted, even though they weren't familiar with it at all (asti). With the price of drinks out, I avoided that and got what I really wanted, and it was 6$. Win win. My buzz balls made for a nice sunset beach watch in my snuggle chair with my boyfriend. Couldn't ask for more than that! I failed to get a pic of my buzz balls, but I did take note of revision brewerys RenoAF line that BevMo carried. Today might have been the first time I've set foot in a BevMo since we moved to Genoa NV from the Bay Area in 2020. When I'm in Reno, you might find me at Total Wine. Battle Born is my choice in Gardnerville, with my favorite Carson City liquor store being Aloha. As it happened, this BevMo shares the parking lot with BlueZone Sports and this weekend's ski sale. I left with 2 nice microbrew 6-packs and maybe expecting a larger beer selection for what I like. The store was spacious, clean, and well stocked. I guess you can mix and match now, so I decided to get a bunch of bottles at $19.95. They had a fair amount at that price, so I got 8 bottles at basically $10 each. The roomie saw the anthenaeum bottle on special, so we grabbed two bottles of that as well. I've never tried that wine, but two bottles at $57 seemed like a great deal. This location also has a nice selection of scotch and whiskey, but you can actually find them for less at a certain wholesale store, so we didn't pick up any liquor. Great BevMo location. Always great customer service! Friendly and helpful they can help you find the odd stuff. We were searching for chocolate liqueur and vanilla vodka to make chocolate martinis. There prices on normal stuff like beer and common alcohol like whiskey and vodka can't compete with the box stores like Smart and Final or Costco, but it depends what you need sometimes. read more

We wanted to buy beer before coming up to Lake Tahoe but didn't have a chance. We were so happy to see a BevMo, it was just what we needed. They had a variety of IPA's probably two whole walls plus the stuff they have in the fridges. Also found a nice Sauvignon blanc for only 9 bucks!! Probably my new fav next time I go to the BevMo back home. The guys at the register were polite, made small talk & helped me look for a certain beer I wanted to try. Bevmo -Holy moly! An entire standalone the store dedicated 90% or more of their inventory to just alcohol!? How amazing! They had virtually every spirit and beer imaginable and also accessories like snacks, corkscrews, cups and everything else you could possibly need for an awesome party. Ample free parking all around the building and a super friendly and helpful staff! Be sure to take a picture with the Big Bear out front! read more

Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. Huge parking lot. Easily accessible from the road. Selection is awesome. I was up in the area and wanted something only available in CA so this was a perfect stop. The bonus was that not only did they have what I wanted they have even more. And.... in store samples of whiskey! Jack Daniel's had a rep sampling both their honey and fire whiskeys. Perfect for a chilly night outside. The employees and the sample rep were knowledgeable and able to suggest a few selections I had not tried before. I also needed a small bottle of dark rum that was high proof to make bananas fosters and the cashier was able to take me to the small bottle area and find the perfect rum for me! Came in to grab water before going to the beach. I got cash back and requested 5's and 10's. The cashier literally looked me in the eye and said NO despite there being 5's and 10's in the drawer. It was $40 back so I said no problem, can I have one $20 and two $5' and a $10 and he looked at his drawer and said "No, I just don't have a lot of them." I have counted plenty of drawers in my life and I can only assume this man simply did not want to have to count and rebuild his drawer after work because he literally had the bills I wanted right there, LOL. Oh man. I really loved the Moscato section at this BevMo,and found my new favorite wine during our last trip here! While in Tahoe for a wedding we ended up dropping by to pick up a couple wines for... reasons. I'd had Moscato for my birthday party once before and specifically wanted a sweet wine after having a great glass at the bar at the resort. I ended up stumbling on a California Moscato that was amazing. Perfect size for carrying around all classy like (the absolutely perfect small shape!), perfect taste, sweet, with no citric burn or dry edge. It was even fairly inexpensive at about $12. It is literally now my new favorite! I am so thankful that we dropped into this great location, plus the service being wonderful and friendly as well was the cherry on top! The employees at BevMo have been handing the shelter-in-place like champs. Always friendly, knowledgeable and ready to help. The way they have allowed access only to the first register and will grab your items for you is working great. They told me they've been doing 30+ deliveries a day, and you can even order ahead online and they have your cart ready to just push to the car. A helpful tip: they have slightly lower prices using door dash than in person on several items... which makes it essentially the same price to just go Door Dash, stay home, and help flatten the curve. We coordinated a wedding at Regan Beach in South Lake Tahoe recently and our clients decided to order their beverages from Bevmo. When Bryan arrived, an employee with Bevmo, we ran into a bit of a discrepancy with ice. Although it was not Bevmo's fault, Bryan went out of his way to come back to our venue to deliver ice. He truly saved the day!! It was an issue that wasn't his concern but took it upon himself to come up with a solution. Our experience with Bevmo and their delivery was incredible and we would highly suggest anyone who is looking into ordering a large amount of beverages, use Bevmo South Lake Tahoe! Good luck finding the beer you are looking for. Whoever decided how to stock the shelves is a complete f'n moron. Every other BevMo I have been to has everything placed the same; easy to locate the beer you want based on style or location of brewery (local, euro, mexico, etc). Not this place! The cooler is well stocked with all of the worst beers imaginable and the people who work there are completely clueless. The last 3 times I went there I went to the unoccupied first counter by the door. You know, the most logical place to checkout. Too much to ask of these folks. 'Sir, I can help you way over here where it is more convenient for me, not you'. I've had a BevMo card for probably 20 years now and was excited to have a location a few blocks away. We had a great experience today with the store manager. He immediately asked if we needed help and we did! He helped us order kegs for our wedding and let us know that they could chill all of the wine we bought at a Bevmo near our home and they would deliver it all for free! Another liquor store in Tahoe, yay! [End Sarcasm] This one opened recently, and is part of a chain. The novelty: Online ordering. For those of us that know what we want, but do not enjoy walking aimlessly along the isles trying to find it, order online with your "Club" card and credit card, and pick up after an hour at the store. The store is clean, open spaces, well lit, smells nice, and does not have a "backroom deal" feel to it. It is as plasticky and artificial as most successful chains. [End sad truth] read more

I shopped here with my boyfriend while on our stay in Tahoe a couple of weeks ago. At first, we were excited because we have been coming to Tahoe for years, and it was a new store! Evidently, our experience was pretty terrible. To start, the customer service was terrible. My boyfriend had to use the restroom, which is in the back of the store located next to all of the liquor. I waited for him right outside of the restroom hallway mindlessly looking at all of the bottles. An employee showed up and said hello and asked if I was finding everything alright. I said yes and continued to stand there. He walked away for a few moments and then returned again. This time he asked if everything was okay. Seeing as only a few moments had gone by, I again replied yes and continued to stand there. He was eyeing my suspiciously, but my boyfriend approached me on the way out of the bathroom as the employee continued to stand there. I assume his question of whether or not I was stealing was answered. My boyfriend eyed some Boddington's which were on sale and decided to buy them. I, a mere 20 year old, picked up a cream soda. My boyfriend purchased his beers first, which ended up not being on sale, and moved through the line. When I went to purchase the cream soda, the employee (same guy who was eyeing me in the back) asked to see my ID. Thinking this was weird, I asked why (seeing as there is no alcohol in the cream sodas). He told me I had to be 21 to purchase anything in the store. As a matter of fact, I had to be 21 to be in the store at all. I left the cream soda and exited the store as fast as possible. When exiting, I did notice a sign on the door that said you had to be 21 and over to be in the store... I probably should have noticed that before walking in. Crazy thing is I have been in BevMo multiple times (and have purchased non-alcoholic items) and yet this one store was 21 and over. Not to mention, their deals aren't anything special. Why would anyone pay the prices that this store charges. We usually by a handle of Gordons Gin at Total Wine for $15.99. We were passing through Tahoe on our way home and Figured instead of driving all the way to Reno we would get some here know it may be a little higher. The store is large and carries a varied selection of beer, wine, and liquor. It is well organized. If you are looking for deals, though, the only time I feel like it is worth shopping there is when I take advantage of their wine specials (buy 1, get one for 5 cents). That is a good deal. Otherwise, I don't find the prices to be any better than any other local grocery store. The customer service is really lacking, too. If you have any questions, there rarely seems to be anyone on the floor to ask other than the sales clerk who can't really take the time to help you since there is often a line of customers. Even then, they don't seem to have a good knowledge of the store products and will refer you to the manager's desk. I have gone to the managers desk with product and ordering questions, but that has proven to be time consuming and not very helpful. read more

Horrible customer service! The lady at checkout was sweet but the older man who came to help her had no idea how to talk to customers or handle any type of situation.
