Very clean with a simple lay out, but sometimes difficult to pin point what you need if you're looking for specific stuff with the overflowing aisles. Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to help when you need it. Always there to joke with you about your day or how your night is going to go! Wow BevMo always has the beverage we are looking for! Yes we do shop here once in a while for a nice drink mixer or ginger beer or something like that. It is a fun place to browse around. The service is great. The people always are quick to point out where to go to find what you are looking for. The selection is strong so if we need something this is the place to go to make sure we find the right liquor. Yes they do have the Green Chartreuse which is the one that my wife really likes and never seems to be able to find easily. Bevmo is fairly convenient and close to home which is great and the prices are fine. I am sure we will be back when we need to make a new Cocktail. read more

Every time I come in here the manager is super rude! No type of customer service whatsoever. Gets mad almost because I utilize the price match system they have and guarantee, if they're policy is to price match why get an attitude about it when it's asked for? I was so happy to hear that San Leandro was FINALLY getting a Bev Mo of it's own....not that I have a problem or anything! Yes, it's smaller then the Pleasanton/Dublin store but I think it has a great selection. I've tried Russian beer because it was on Sale here, and even at $2.99/ea regular price it's not bad, and found the best gift for a groom-to-be; The Knot is the perfect mix between amazing quality and on the money wedding puns! I even bought some great wines during the 5 cent sale..only spent $26 and walked out with 4 bottles :) I was a happy camper. The staff are very helpful and nice. I'll be sure to stop by for reliable stock and service for my next holiday party or if I'm in the mood to try a new beer. read more

This is the first BevMo I have visited where I can say the entire staff is friendly and helpful. I visited this location about 5 times now and every time i walk in I am greeted immediately. This store also takes sanitation very seriously, there always someone in front of the establishment wiping down the carts. When you're ready to check out you'll notice a faint bleach smell, that means they are wiping down the registers as well. read more

All I can say is that SL has a BevMo. We don't have much so this addition gives us a reason to celebrate! haha. Compared to other Bevmo locations it is on a smaller scale (we will take anything we can get). It will have what you need but maybe not be a wide variety compared to other locations, so don't be picky. It was fully stocked and the staff was friendly during my visit during the opening weekend. Parking could be difficult depending on what time and what day it is since it is located in a small shopping center. Nice to have a local store so no more trekking out to Dublin and Fremont. Only in here briefly to find a special beer that I've only ever found at Pacific Catch. I was googling around and besides the internet, a Bevmo! website mentioned that they sold it there. So finally, found some time to check out this new location that's been built and I was genuinely surprised. Compared to all the stores around it in the plaza, Bevmo really stands out. The brights lights of the most expensive liquor you can see it through the door, through the beaming sunlight rays, it's that bright. Upon walking it, nobody greeted us but that's coo doesn't bother me. Notice that there was only one cashier, but the day was pretty slow. We walked straight to the back, thanks to the lovely and informative signs where the craft beers were and found the Lost Coast Brewery Tangerine Wheat Ale at the very bottom of the aisle. The 12 pack was cheaper than the 6 pack, especially with the member price (WHICH IS FREE TO SIGN UP). We just took a quick look around. Like others have previously mentioned, the location is a lot smaller than the Jack London one but I would have to say, it's looking pretty spiffy and classy inside. Their hours are opened early and closes later, especially in an area like that, it's good. There's a pretty decent selection of mini bottles, but I was bummed there wasn't any Grey Goose. But for the most part, I got in and out pretty quickly. If you're not a member, sign up since it's free and you get a completely better price. It'll take like 2 minutes of your time to sign a little card with your information and whaaaala, membership here you come! It's clean inside and I saw a blocked off section that might be for demonstrations, no mention of any. The shelves seemed well stock and bright lights. They do have a small section that sells fridge food, not to feed a family but just snack like bits. Some special caviar I saw a sign when I walked by, hummus from the corner of my eyes. They do have a fridge section for the classic beers in value packs that I saw from. Most of the wines and beers are within arms reach so no worries if you're not tall enough to reach. Both Fred and the manager were great, fast, polite and efficient! I have always loved Bevmo's customer service, I've never ever had an issue but it now when people seem to be extra sensitive Bevmo is extra nice! Stopped by Sunday to purchase a few bottles of wine, for a relative's B-Day celebration. The deals were so great. that I left with six bottles of merlot. With the "shelter in place" order I thought it would be a good idea to utilize the pick up option from the Bevmo app. I placed my order online and selected a pick up time of 6:00-6:45pm at the nearest location (San Leandro, CA). I arrived to the store at 7:00pm and the young lady at the door said that they were running behind and closed the door on me. I waited another 5 minutes in front of the store waiting for her to come back and when she finally did, she said in a rude tone that I had to wait because I didn't get a second email. I asked if she could give me an estimate and she said no!!! I asked for the Manager and a young man wearing no gloves or mask came to the door (didn't give me his name or title) and asked for last name but never returned. After waiting an additional 10 minutes I asked for the Manager a second time and another guy (Ken B.) came to the door and said that he was the "spirit manager" and that there was nothing he could do... they were barely working on orders with a 4:00 pm pick up time (it was now 7:30pm). The staff at the San Leandro BevMo are very unprofessional and clearly have no desire to help customers! What's the point selecting a pick up time if you're going to get turned away? I left after 45 minutes of waiting and I still haven't received a second email. read more

The inventory here can be kinda sparse compared to other locations, but the items they do have in stock are always organized and displayed in a manner that makes it easy for customers to find exactly what they need. This location has a very comfortable atmosphere, some other locations rely on wide showroom floors and bright beaming shop lights to focus on a featured item, but here they allow the natural colors and bottle designs of the spirits to appeal to your senses while shopping. I like coming here for my beer/liquor needs because the prices are fair and the employees usually know how to answer my questions or solve my issues. read more

My roommate and I are frequent patrons of BevMos throughout the Bay, and this was by far our best experience yet. AJ was so amazingly kind, helpful, and friendly. After guiding us expertly around the store, giving amazing suggestions, and being our absolute best friend for 10 minutes, he was so graciously patient as we struggled to locate our club card and membership information so we could receive $200 in savings! Certain wines are buy one, get one for 5 cents!!!!!!!! On top of that you receive 10% off of a case of wine or more, he even topped us off with an additional $10 off coupon. So we paid for less than 6 bottles of wine but walked away with a full case, WHAT A STEAL! We might be driving to San Leandro for all our BevMo trips from now on. Thanks AJ! read more

Honestly, not too impressed with this BevMo. Maybe it's because the location is smaller than its Jack London and Pleasanton counterparts, but the selection really isn't very extensive in terms of wines or beer. There are only two shelves of porters/stouts here! ONLY TWO. That makes this beer-drinkin' Yelper sad. Also, the pricing on the same beer differs if you buy it at room temperature off the shelf or out of their cooler -- it's more expensive if you want to get the same beer already chilled! On the plus side, at least now there's a BevMo down the street! But I'd almost rather drive a little further down to Plaza Bottle for a slightly better selection (though the prices are usually a teeny bit higher). read more

I will NEVER!!!!! Shop here or at any of their other stores EVER again! The manager Eric made the biggest scene and humiliated me because of his bad judgment and racial profile of me. I was highly offended and appalled at him calling the cops on me without my knowledge and accusing me of credit card fraud because he thought my card was fake and because my address was different from the address on my bevmo account that I have had for 9 years!!! He said he felt embarrassed but his feelings had nothing on how he made me look or feel. I didn't want to go through with my purchase but I felt like I had to prove a point!!! All young African Americans aren't thieves, broke nor go around pulling off credit card scams!!! I went to purchase a gift for my other half and was held up for 45 min because of bad judgment and ignorance. He made a complete ass of himself. I should call this review nirian the cashier, every time i go into this place, this guy greets & smiles only at selected customers, he also ask selected customers would they like a bag while checking them out, when approaching nirian the cashier to ring me up he seems depressed & is always dead silent as if his throat were missing when I or selected others approach his line(occasion #2) i swiped my card (nothing happened) & we had a stare down until i asked nirian the cashier " did my apple pay go through " & he replied "no" after the second attempt my payment went through (of course) nirian the cashier looks at me & i look at him in another stare down, i ask "can i have a bag?" nirian the cashier bags my beverages without handing me my bag, i then slightly reached over the bagging table to grab my bags & silently walked away, this is not the first time I've witnessed this guy acting strangely towards certain customers, but this time this was enough for me to take this to yelp (the public) since he can publicly display his actions... read more

I love going to Bevmo! The one in Jack London Square is my favorite, however going to this one off of Hesperian Blvd. has been my worst experience yet. However at this particular Bevmo I have to say I have never been treated with such disrespect. The customer service was awful. The workers were rude when I asked them questions about certain alcoholic beverages. I had a sales rep help me and she was so rude. She didn't have a name tag on but she was very tall and blonde, she was making racist remarks. I will never go back there again. :( read more

Love this place! Sure, it's smaller than most BevMo locations but what they have is the best of the best. Place is always clean, even the men's bathroom... Which is well appreciated. Staff is friendly, helpful and remember frequent customers. Even the fellow patrons are friendly; have been turned on to some new, amazing beers chatting with other customers agonising over which new beer to buy. You leave this place and your faith is restored (temporarily) in humanity. The parking lot kinda sucks, but I'm not docking points for that, it's not their fault. Try the Organic Chocolate beer in the refrigerated case... You'll thank me. It's friggin' amazing!! read more

Because BevMo is a chain, this review applies to ALL BevMo locations, not specifically the one in Bay Fair Mall San Leandro. I have occasionally shopped at BevMo for my alcoholic beverage needs. I will no longer shop there. Their prices are not competitive. I can get better deals at Costco, Lucky or Safeway, not to mention some other alternative bargain outlets for liquor, such as Grocery Outlet or Trader Joes. The worst thing BevMo does is price their products in big red lettering, showing a discount. But when you go to pay (and do not wish to participate in their buyers club program), they charge you the FULL price!!! Which is often many more dollars per bottle! I do not wish to become a BevMo club member, so they actually prefer NOT to do business with me. I complained many times to management about this procedure, all to no avail. I do not recommend shopping for your liquor at this non-customer friendly, expensive chain of liquor stores. You can do much better at many other places as I mentioned here. read more
