I love Bev Mo and it is great that Oakland has one. My advice to the ladies is not to go there late at night by your lonesome. Jack London Square can be scary at night and I don't think it is safe to go to Bev Mo Oakland because there is no security guard to man the parking lot and you have to cross a darkly lit street in order to get to the Bev Mo. If you want to purchase wine go to Beverages and More across the street. They have a security guard there all day and there prices are also reasonably priced. read more

Very conveniently located in Jack London square this holy place of distillate and fermented beverages (as well as cheeses, glassware, and other snacks) serves the burgeoning neighborhood and provides an outlet to most every alcoholic concoction available to California. Great selection of tequilas and other spirits, it was so hard for us to choose one. The prices are a lot lower than other stores. There was also a lot of things that are usually hard to find that were here. They have a great soda and non alcoholic drink selection here as well!! Although, it took awhile for us to get someone to help us get things out of the locked cabinets, the prices make up for the time being wasted. read more

Having to pay for parking in Jack London sucks. Which makes the BevMo parking lot across the street a win for me. Grams calls me up sometimes to let me know when her little tequila bottle supply is running low and Bev Mo is the place I head to help her re-stock. They carry a decent stock of minis year-round which helps when I need to make a last-minute gift basket for someone and the larger bottles show the other person that you not only care, but you're not one to judge either. Wide selection of wine and liquor a but they didn't have either thing I wanted. Japanese whiskey is very popular now with multiple brands winning awards. They did not have any author location. I was also looking for a German reisling and again I struck out. Parking was full and I don't think it's monitored. It states only for bevmo but I saw multiple people parking and not going there. There are many bevmo locations with a better selection and parking. I will instead go to those in the future. read more

I'm OK with this place. I like that I can order online at work, then stop in and pick up my wine on my way home after work. Other times, I just like to wander the aisles and browse. Customer service is excellent. I probably should cut back on my visits though because one time I walked in and the manager said, "oh there's Mrs. J." I said "shhhh, don't call my name out loud; I don't want people to know that I drink so much and that I'm in here so often that I'm known!" LOL. Great store. Great selection. This review is based on an order I had delivered for my wedding. Unfortunately, the delivery was over 1 hour late. One of the main reasons I went to BevMo for this large order was because of their delivery services, so I was disappointed that they were unable to deliver within the window we agreed upon. It is true that they use a third-party service for delivery, and the store managers are aware of the issue with this third-party service (apparently there have been more than a few late deliveries - I even heard that one of the managers had to make a delivery himself because the delivery company never showed up). I'm sympathetic to the store managers as they are doing their best and are unable to choose the delivery service (this appears to be under the control of upper management), and I did receive my delivery fee refunded. However I do want to let other potential customers know that if you want your order delivered to a special event that is time-sensitive - I urge you to go elsewhere, or hire your own delivery person to pick up from BevMo. read more

A huge thank you to Carla and the Oakland BevMo team. Unknowingly, I purchased a 12 pack (cans) of Stone IPA to later find out that this beer had expired. As there was no date markings on the box (packaging) it makes it ever so difficult to know when this beer's born on date or expiration date. I immediately contacted Stone Brewing to report this occurrence and they advised I needed to take this up with BevMo. I then reached out to BevMo and soon thereafter received a call from Carla who went above and beyond to make sure this was remedied. I have been shopping at Bevmo for close to 20 years. I've been to different locations from Sunnyvale, Mountain View, SF, San Leandro, to Daly City, to finally this one at Jack London Square. I have always had a positive experience at the other locations but on this past Sunday afternoon, I have had the WORST experience ever. The cashier was incompetent and super rude. He did not process my "get $10 off on a $50" coupon right. The $10 discount didn't show up on the register but he kept on arguing with me. I also asked if my 80-year old mom could use the bathroom but he rudely said bathrooms are not for customers or that they are not functional. Which one is it? You can't make an exception for an 80-year old woman or are the bathrooms broken? Then he kept on giving me the "lip". The boy just wouldn't shut up. He spent so much time and energy trying to argue to the point that he also couldn't process the credit card. The manager had to be called out twice to handle the situation, whom clearly needed training as well. This Bevmo! sucks. They need to let the manager and the cashier go. It is a disgrace to the brand. read more

I like the parking lot and convenient location. after some shaky periods with staff, they seem to have settled in with a stable group of helpful people. there is always someone around to ask if you need help. it's clean, if not fancy. and best of all, a great selection. read more

I just got off the phone with BevMo. Purchased Martin Miller's Gin there and it was close to $40. Didn't seem right to me. K&L Wines in SF carries it for $30. So, I thought there might be a mistake and called BevMo to let them know. They said, no mistake -- this is the way Corp prices it. So, beware when you buy at Bev Mo that you might be able to get the same beverage for significantly less at a local shop. K&L has my business going forward!!! read more

I don't like this store and will not be returning. First, their prices are nothing to write home about. Second, I bought two non-alcoholic items, for which I had valid coupons. The coupons were a whole "to do" necessitating the manager to come over and punch the magic buttons. Then it turns out, my bevs were on sale, but the checker forgot to ask if I had a BevMo number (which I do). I only thought to ask because she asked the lady in line behind me for hers. Okay, cashier made a mistake, fine. But then, she directs me to the "returns" line, which had two people waiting and no one helping them. Why couldn't manager be called over to refund me the buck I overpaid? I was in a hurry to pick up my daughter in the rain and didn't want to wait in the returns line over $1. When I told the cashier this, her response (with "attitude") was, "Guess that's what you're in for". When I asked why she hadn't asked me for my BevMo number like the other customer, again, the shrug, and "I dunno, I forgot". Not even an apology. The experience left me with a bad taste, so I called to complain to the manager (something I never do). He had a similar "I don't give a sh*t" attitude.
