I want to preface by saying I have had nothing but good vibes and wonderful help from this store when I did encounter inside and needed help in the past. Checkout was always quick and help was always offered above and beyond. Before COVID I may have dinged just one star for the chemicals in the air (from cleaning and disinfecting) due to my own chemical disability and have had to wear a mask due to strong cleaning solvents closer to closing. I've had to wait outside until it was my turn in line to check out. I'm a rare case as it's a disability, but was accommodated by someone letting me know it was my turn and run in to pay. I have only done Instacart through SIP with COVID as I've really cut back on my alcohol for health reasons. I hate the extra fees to deliver when I'm 3 minutes away and the car does have to be driven after all right? Yes it does as I had to jump start my truck tonight. I'd already called about my health situation and not being able to enter the store with heightened cleaning/disinfecting measures affecting my health more. I was told to call when I arrived and they would bring my order to my car. Thank you! This was so easy I don't know why I didn't do it before. I know the store is open and you may now show inside. However, entering has always been a health concern with my disability and if this store is willing to do this with an epic smile. They have my 5+ stars. Thank you so much! Since it's literally next to my place of work, I finally had a chance to stop by and see how this BevMo is. Overall, it's not that bad imo..the cashier/stocker were pretty friendly. The selection was pretty vast and had a lot of variety for those maybe looking into something more exotic versus a small local liquor store or even grocery store. But, when compared to the one in Pleasanton, this store is pretty cramped imo and to some maybe a tad claustrophobic. read more

ABSOLUTELY JOKE of an Experience!!!! My wife and I went into BevMO! This evening because we wanted to grab one of my favorite rums that they carry in stock. When we walked in there was an employee behind the desk wearing glasses, whose name I did not catch who appeared to be a little overly chipper at first, which we kind of just shrugged off and went about our shopping. However, during multiple experiences with him during the visit, he was loud and over-the-top for no reason and shouting out nonsense. At first we didn't say anything, because we were concerned. Maybe he was special-needs or something of that nature. However, after asking him a few questions and talking to his coworkers, they all gave us the response that " that's just how he is" . We literally could not have a conversation at the register or stop to think because how loud and over the top he was for absolutely no reason. My wife left there very frantically, because she felt overwhelmed by him and even walked into the door because she was in such a rush to get out. I immediately called the manager on duty after and told him my concerns he gave me kind of a nonchalant response, and then proceeded to say " some guest like the way he is" which I abruptly responded with well I am the consumer and he is the employee and it's completely unprofessional. I've never had this experience there before and if shop they're quite frequently unfortunately lol. Just want to get this out there in case someone else run into him during the holiday season. Recently I bought a 5 gallon keg of Anderson Valley Boont Amber Ale at this store and it turned out to be bad. I hadn't returned it to the store before the 7 day return policy because of an out of town emergency, so I would have had to eat the $165, if it wasn't for the store store manger, David. He worked with the distributor and got me a fresh keg within a few days. I've purchased well over 30 kegs (5 gal. and full) from this BevMo and the Pleasanton store before this one opened and always got good service; ordered what I wanted when it wasn't in stock and always seem to have something I like when I didn't pre-order. Their prices are good and I was VERY pleased that David went the "extra mile" to get the keg replaced. I highly recommend this store for all of your beverage needs!! read more

When I say Bev, you say... I don't know about you, but when I spy one of BevMO's .05 sales, I get all warm & fuzzy inside - or maybe it's because I know vino is on the way, I digress. Who doesn't love a deal, am I right? At any rate, found this location not too far from home & paid it a first-time visit. I was greeted with a very warm smile & welcome by Van, a lovely lady who was happy to point me in the direction of the wine selections that were included in the promotion. I lucked out as there were no customers in the store at the time, so I didn't feel bad at all sparking up conversation and asking a multitude of questions regarding varietals from around the world. She was happy to answer all of them and during the course of our discussion, she introduced me to CJ, who also was working and was introduced as "The Wine Guy", which we had a brief laugh over. He truly did have an extensive knowledge and I was impressed over our pleasant conversation. By the way, this store was immaculate - it was clear a lot of care in the upkeep was given to the daily maintenance of this location which is always a plus, of course. Wonderful selections available as well. Not too sure what gives with some of the previous reviews that were at best, mediocre, but clearly since last year (the most recent written), things have changed at this branch! In regards to the promo, the way it works is easy peasy; any selection with a yellow label under the bottle is one you can pair up with a lesser expensive bottle (also with a yellow label) and you get that second one for .05. You must get a total of 12 to equal a case. Oh - some spirits are also included in this deal, if that's more your jam. So I opted for a nicer Reserve paired with an "everyday" wine to balance this out & add some variety to what I already have at home. Pretty damn good deal, right? Saved a TON on this deal, too! Woohoo! Very happy with my overall experience here - will be paying a return visit since this girl needs to fill up my new wine rack collection! It was unsatisfactory for how this situation was handled. I had an emergency and used the restroom in the BevMo. My friend was waiting outside for me. While I was in there this worker named Janette started yelling at my friend, mind you I could hear this from the restroom and was ready to face the music when I got out. When I finally exited the restroom my friend exited the store and the worker was gone as well. I ended up getting my stuff and approached the cash register. I then asked the cashier (Malory) why my friend got kicked out instead of me? I was the one who used the restroom not him. She then told me I needed to leave the store and got her manager not answering my question. I went ahead and grabbed my things and left. My friend then asked me "why they kick me out and not you? Was it because I'm black?" I was speechless. I will not be returning to such an establishment. The staff needs training on these sorts of situations. #BLM read more

Stopped in here to get some 6 bottle ship packs. They didn't have any in the store so the girl at the counter went into their warehouse at the back and brought some out for me. Store is clean, they have a very large selection of wines, beers, whiskey and vodka... Staff are friendly and helpful. They have a cold section in the middle of the store towards the back for meats, salami and various cheese as well as another cold fridge for Caviar at the front of the store by doors as you enter. read more

They have an ENORMOUS selection of wine and spirits, probably should be the go-to place for anyone looking to buy all their drinks in one place. One thing I like in particular is that they don't JUST have alcoholic drinks, they also have a bunch of unique sods on the back wall ranging from "bacon soda" to "Ramune" (japanese soda). I love getting cool sodas here and trying them out at home with my brother, it makes for a real hoot! They even have cream soda, which is my favorite, so I always have to come here even if it's just to buy one bottle lol. read more

I liked when BevMo was at it's old location because the parking lot wasn't such a cluster. There is always plenty of parking in front of the store but getting to it can be the hard part. Other than that, they still have a good selection of beverages for reasonable prices. Total Wine in Ptown may give them a run for their money though. Comparing prices TW has better deals. read more

I stopped in here to pick up some last minute gifts for friends that I was visiting in the area. My friends make a pretty decent living so what do you get people who have everything? A bottle of my favorite champagne, Veuve Clicquot will do the trick. I looked on my navigation and found there was a BevMo nearby...perfect! Even though it was the day before Christmas eve, I found a front parking spot and dashed into the store with ease. There was no need to take more than 10 steps before finding what I was looking for. They had all the Champagne at the front of the store which made it super convenient and found it was on sale for $37.99. I picked up 3 bottles of Veuve Clicquot and 3 holiday bags and was in and out in less than 5 minutes! The store was buzzing with people trying to buy liquor for the holidays but the cashiers got through everyone pretty quickly. So glad I was able to locate a BevMo in the area. Saved me from making a trip to Costco! I will be picking up more at my local BevMo now that I'm home since I'm in desperate need of replenishing my champagne inventory from all the holiday celebrations. read more

it's nice to see a bewmo open in livermore. i now no longer have to chug brew from oaktown or pleasanton whenever i visit my bud in livermore to have a drink. this bevmo is pretty good sized. it's next to the old mervyn's and across from tcby (yogurt). there's a large parking lot and the selection of spirits here is pretty impressive, except for large bottles of beers which is anemic. the 6 paks are ok. you need to sign up for their bevmo card to get their red tag specials. no need to lug your card around. you home phone # is good enough. every $250 purchase gets you a deal (10% off?) amongst my peers, my reputation as a lush is well established. please don't tell them i mostly imbibe tea and froyo now. read more

First there was Trader Joe's and now this??? Livermore's horizons are expanding and I can't believe I'm first to review. Brand new store so it's nice and clean. It's located right by Ross and Mervyns and there is ample parking. It's not the largest one I've been to but they offer a pretty good variety of wine and spirits from all regions. Lots of Livermore wines but I wasn't overly impressed by the selections. (-1 star) The local wines are on the second shelf from the top and stocked alphabetically which was a big help. However a staffer showed me a Sonoma County wine as an example of a local wine. Hmmmm. Not the sharpest tool in the shed. Happily, someone had the foresight to set up large displays of Livermore wines in a few locations throughout the store. So although they didn't have Bodegas Aguirre and a few others I've discovered, they were giving a nod to Livermore folks that like to drink local. Hopefully they will add to their selection as time goes by. Join Club Bev and after spending $250 you get a 5% discount coupon. Hey-it adds up fast! Okay, I'm really torn here. I love BevMo for their selection of hard to find beers and spirits, and I love that the Livermore location carries Schubros beer. Usually I try not to let one bad experience dictate a Yelp! review, but this one frustrated the hell out of me. As all Alameda County residents are aware, the County passed the reusable bags ordinance that took effect on January 1, 2013. "Affected stores include grocery stores, supermarkets, convenience stores, liquor stores, pharmacies, drug stores or other entities that sell milk, bread, soda AND snack foods (all four items) and/or alcohol (Type 20 or 21 license) in Alameda County are affected." So the law applies to BevMo. Okay. But here's the kicker. I went in to buy one bottle of champagne a couple weeks ago. The cashier placed the bottle in one of those tiny brown paper bottle bags. As I was swiping my credit card, I asked her if she charged me 10 cents for the bag and she said yes. I told her I didn't want the bag and that I would just carry it out. I was told that I could not carry it out because State law requires alcohol to placed in a bag. I understand that BevMo is bound by State laws and County ordinances, but I have a few major problems with my experience. 1. The cashier automatically put my bottle in a bag and charged me 10 cents. No mention of the charge until I asked. I don't think any business should charge their customers for something they did not request without telling them regardless of the law. It felt fraudulent. 2. If State law requires my bottle to be bagged, than a County ordinance should not require that I pay for said bag. However I realize that BevMo has no control over this injustice, so perhaps I should take it up with the County Board of Supervisors or State Senator. 3. If I'm forced to pay 10 cents for a bag, I want the big bag. One that I might actually be able to re-use. Not the tiny piece of trash that one bottle fits in. 4. Lastly, I think BevMo should allow me to walk out with the bottle in hand. If I refuse to pay for a bag than I am the one breaking the law. If they are concerned that somehow they are liable than please find a creative way to get me to my car with my purchase without charging me for a bag. Put it in a used wine case box. Put it in a reusable bag, walk me to my car and take the bag back for the next customer. So I know you're probably thinking that I'm getting a little worked up over 10 cents, but it's really about principles, and I left feeling pretty pissed off. Two weeks later, I'm writing this review and I'm still a little ticked off. So note to my fellow Yelpers, when heading to BevMo remember to BYOB! (Bring Your Own BAG) read more

BevMo has some pretty good deals. If you become a member of their 'club' they will send you ads in the mail every so often. Their coupons through out the year and especially around the holidays are very helpful. The employees are hit and miss when it comes to answering questions about the products they carry, but they have never let me down when I ask where something is. As the saying goes, "Time is money."... So taking that into consideration when planning any sort of get together, large or small, it's nice to have everything in one place. :-) read more

I love BevMo! They are a great place to buy alcohol (although I don't think you want to come here blind -- do price checks on your phone to see how some of the wines compare; sometimes, I think the alcohol can be a bit of a rip, but that's true of most places, unfortunately). I love all the artisan sodas they have too! Old fashioned root beer done 1950s style, orange sodas, cream sodas, ramune of all flavors, sodas you might not be able to find anywhere else! When my mother was sick, I bought her some pop from here as a get-well gift. It was the pick-me-up she needed. The people who work here are very sweet and helpful, too. It's really nice to have people ask you if you need help and say it in such a genuine, thoughtful way. read more

Shop more in this new location. Hard to get help - yep - realize I need to ask but hard to find employees and when you're walking around aimlessly one would think to they could offer. I went yesterday and bought a bottle of vodka that was under lock and key - NO interaction from employee who helped and I was going to ask about the bottles in my cart. I gave it three stars, just because they ahve many products at the same location. Well as for service, well it sucks! I ask for Polish ead, the guy sends me to Polish Beer. When I say that I asked for mead, his answer is that it is a kind of mead that has no big reputation. I find it offensive that he just claims to know what that is when he obviously had no idea what Polish Mead was. I explain to him that that is not true and that Polish mead in fact is pretty fammous. It is thicker, stronger and often sweeter than other meads. I get a blank look I buy hard cider and it tastes like malt vinegar. I had to dump the whole thing. I much rather go to the Pleasanton one where they have service and help. Actually for those working in the service industry, if you do not know what you are talking about just be quiet.
