This place has a great selection of beers and lots of unicorn bourbons. Customer service is good here too. My only issue that makes them just ok is that they are a secondary pricing store for there good stuff like any Pappy, Old Fitz, Handy, Eagle Rare 17 and many other bottles of hard to find stuff. They only offer a meager 5-10 dollar discount and have no customer loyalty program. Great selection of bourbons but pricing is out of control. Eagle Rare 12 was priced at 200 a bottle and it MSRP's for between 50-60 bucks. Kind of an insane price. read more

Their internet advertised prices are misleading. On one bottle of bourbon, store adds a $19.99 deposit at checkout to reserve on top of advertised price. I tried to buy a bottle of Eagle Rare bourbon in store at the store's advertised online at $49.95 and they said that I had to buy a bottle of Red Ball to get that price. Otherwise, it was $59.95. The beer selection here is amazing. They have all of the great craft beers including my favorite Pliney the elder! That's one of the most hardest beers to find but if you get lucky Perry might have some. There's also a new beer called revision from a small brewery in Reno Nevada, highly recommended. I tried two of the triples and I was not disappointed. They also have your regular selection of domestic beer and imported beer along with a decent wine selection. The guy at the counter is pretty knowledgeable in the selection of beer so whatever you're in the mood for he can probably give you a good recommendation. read more

Possibly the best liquor store I've ever been to. HUGE beer selection, including: sour favorites in our household (Almanac, Rare Barrel and The Bruery) and all of our favorite local breweries (Bare Bottle, Temescal, Altamont, Shadow Puppet). Lately I've been discovering whiskey and this place has been great for that journey. They have almost every bourbon I've looked for (including some rare finds, albeit at crazy secondary market prices), great scotches. I really enjoy coming here when I'm looking for craft beer, especially ones I've never tried before. I can't really speak to their other selections except for sake (best not to come here for that, only 1 or 2 options). Their beer selection is huge; they carry everything from IPAs to bourbon barrel aged to Belgian beers. They carry Mikkeller, Goose Island, Founders, and Jolly Pumpkin, to name a few, as well as bottles from local breweries like Shadow Puppet. There's a good cider selection too. The employees/owner are very nice and helpful. Some of the prices can be a bit higher but that's to be expected from a liquor store. As a BevMo employee, I can say I was overwhelmed with this place. Never have I seen so many different Mikkeller beers all in one store. 10/10 for the selection. The prices are a tad bit higher compared to other bottle shops I've been to, but like I said, the selection at Perry's takes the cake. The only part of the store that I wasn't a huge fan of was the vibe/clientele. I was in there for nearly 45 minutes just scoping out the beers, and during that time every customer who had walked in was pretty much either a drunk, drug addict, or homeless person, buying tall cans of malt liquor and swishers. I understand that liquor stores normally get these types of customers, but for a place to have all of these lovely, rare craft beers without anyone appreciating them was kind of a bummer. But hey, I guess that means more beer for us beer lovers. read more

It's not easy getting to the the cheap and large selection of priced microbrews. there are display islands blocking direct access. once one navigates the obstacle course, there are hundreds of microbrews.. pour: moylan's dragoon's dry irish stout (22 oz, 5%. 4.49+ ) -medium body, a little buzz, more like a lager. 3 stars. on draught: -some 'gars too but only a small selection. -plenty of parking -big store cluttered with displays. . read more

Blood Orange Hard Cider?! SAGE Botanical Gin!?! Oh my, this place is amazing! My husband and I have been looking for a type specific of gin that we tried while on vacation over a year ago. We've been to so many places with no luck. Tonight, while pulling into the awesome little Apghani restaurant in the same shopping center, I mentioned to my husband that I had heard great things about the beer selection at Perry's. Right away his ears perked up and, while the rest of our party went into the restaurant to be seated, he popped over to Perry's. When he returned, with bags in hand, his eyes were wide and he told me it had taken all his will power to leave with just what he purchased. Definitely one of the more impressive bottle shops I've been to. They have a good selection of beers here. Local brews, good US beers, a fairly decent Belgian selection and helpful staff. It would be nice to be able to buy single cans instead of 4 or 6 packs, I would have absolutely spent more money there than I did if I could buy individual cans. Quite a few of the bottles weren't labelled with prices, but fair enough because there were so many! They were certainly priced relatively well nonetheless. Perry's Saved My Xmas! Every year a bunch of my friends all congregate from out of town and hold an Xmas night event called the 12 ales of Xmas. Really, its more like 24 ales with these people. I slacked off, like always, and neglected to get some brews together for the party. The thing is with my friends, they will grill the shit out of you for showing up with crappy mainstream beer, so its not like I could have gone to any 7-11 and picked up a 6pack. The point of 12 ales is for everyone to bring a unique craft brew for sampling. Usually by the 10th brew no one remembers what great beer tastes like, but at least you know its gourmet. I had accepted the fact that I was going to get a verbal flogging for showing up without a craft pint when I remembered Parry's. Since I don't have a smart phone with Internet but a stupid one without, I was taking a chance driving 15 minutes out of the way to see if they were open. SUCCESS! They had all the classics; Brother Thelonius, Bitch Creek, Jubilation, 30th anniversary, the list goes on. And of course their Stone selection took up an entire section. What I was really impressed with were their Barleywines. They had an extensive selection from Old Guardian to Moylan's and one of my personal favs Old Inventory. I ended up dropping a lot more than I had expected, but the holidays are made for marry making, and downing a pint or two..........or five! Perry's is a straight up bottle shop. The second you walk in you're weaving your way through unopened boxes and stacks booze. The staff is beyond knowledgeable about every type of liquid in the shop, and are more than willing to give you helpful recommendations or just chop it up with you about great brews. Brews like stouts, IPA's, porters, barleywines, lagers, pilsners, or what ever can be distilled, fermented, or aged and poured into frosty glass. Just made a trip down to Livermore from San Jose based on several recommendations. Harpreet is the manager/buyer and I believe he started working there about two years ago or so based on early reviews from 2006. He mentioned a tasting room starting soon and said he will be getting a keg of Pliny the Younger. He wasn't working when I stopped in, but his father was and he called him to have me chat with him about some special beers I was looking for. Quite nice! Well they have one of the best selections in the bay area. He has a nice stock of Alesmith which he apparently drives to So Cal to get among others. No other place as far as I know in the area carries Alesmith. Other breweries/selections I purchaed were: Olfabrikken Porter, Russian River (including Consecration, Batch 23 and Pliny and Blind Pig with bottled on dates within 4 weeks of purchase), Older Viscocity, Elysian, Lost Abbey (including Angel's Share, Red Poppy and 10 Commandments), Port, Mikkeller, Stone, Hair of the Dog, Laguinitas, Ommegang, Avery, Amager, Dogfish Head, Green Flash, Nogne O, Firestone (they were out of the 11 and 12 but do stock occasionally), Jolly Pumpkin and also a good selection of Belgians. If you want something I mentioned and don't see in on the shelves, be sure to ask as some of these they keep in the back cooler. They do have a huge cooler which is quite nice and do a nice job of keeping the beer out of sunlight. All the staff is very helpful, knowledgeable and informative. Screw this place. On Tuesday, I drove out here from the Peninsula to meet up a friend at De Afghanan. Since this craft beer market was next door, I decided to check it out. So I bought some Gordon Biersch and Stardust IPA. When I brought it home and took a sip, the taste was overly bitter and stale. When I looked at the expiration date I realized later that these people are hella shady for keeping it on the shelf (fridge). PROS: - Incredible Selection - The big guy who stocks the fridge and works the counter is a beer enthusiast and he really knows his stuff CONS: - A bit pricy - They type in the prices rather than scan them in, and there have been a couple of incidences where they accidentally typed in some extra zeroes.
