The one time I walked into the store not noticing that it's 9 PM, the cashier comes out from nowhere and yells a loud "GET OUT". Then the next second changes his mind and lets me make the purchase anyway. 1. You could have let me know politely that it is off-hours, no service. I'd walk away no problem. 2. You should make sure to put a sign or close the door when you are closed. How are your customers supposed to know otherwise? Get trained or find another job that doesn't need soft skills. I like this BevMo! better than the one in San Leandro. It's easy to get to. Parking is a breeze and the selection is better. That said, I'm still looking for a really good Beer, Wine, Spirits and Party store. When we lived in Cincinnati, The Party Source was kick ass. It was easily five times bigger than this BevMo!, had tons of food, party supplies, and incomparable beer, wine and liquor selections. I miss Party Source. We called around and this location was the only on that carried this scrumptious Watermelon Beer. We bought the last 3 6packs. Who can EVER hate BevMo! Isles and Isles of intoxicating yet inviting spirits and wines... Oh my... walking in here last Saturday reminded me of the days I used to visit them once or twice a week. Those were some good times... but as all good things, those times are over for me. Now my visits are more and more scarce but as usual, the place was WELL stocked and with every drink you can possibly imagine. A large selection of wines and even though I am not a wine connoiseur, I entered that side of the store to look for a fruity moscato for my HS friends and I. They are not big drinkers and I wanted to chose something that was inviting to the palate. I decided on a Ruffino Moscato D'Asti and it was a hit! Even my friend who never drinks loved it and kept the bottle because she said she was going to ask for it the next time her husband went to buy wine. While strolling through the isles, I was asked twice by employees if I needed any help but i declined. I knew what i needed, i just needed to make up my mind because they had so many to chose from! There was no one standing in line and I was helped right away, gave them my Bevmo rewards card and I even saved money on my purchase. I'm not from the area and I needed to get a specific kind of champagne that wasn't sold in super markets so I went. This place is SUPER overpriced. Luckily, the thing that I wanted was 30% off so it wasn't as bad. However, it was still more expensive than if I had just gone to a Trader Joe's. Also, I wasn't allowed to get the discount unless I signed up for a membership. The people who were working there were really nice, so I don't want to completely rule this place out. At Christmas I usually make a trip to Bev Mo to buy some spirits and wines for co-workers, friends and relatives. This Bev Mo is not as large as some of the other ones but they do have a large variety and cover the price range from inexpensive to dent in the Visa card cost. I ended buying some Grey Goose and some tequila as gifts. The beer selection is outstanding and they have twelve packs of your favorite brews. I'll probably be back for some Holiday wine when I visit my brother who lives right around the block. Bev Mo has a policy about not taking any pictures on the premises. I told the associate how am I supposed to remember all of these different categories and prices. Pictures help quite a bit. I like the fact that they have glasses for the special occasion such as cocktail, wines and even beer glasses with logos. Was a huge fan of Bevmo when I first discovered it 5 years ago, however there are so many better similar stores now. Reasons I will no longer shop here: - Splurged out on a bottle of liquor for a special occasion. Visited another Bevmo location the next day and saw the same bottle on sale for a lot cheaper. Asked the employees about the sale and my purchase, seeing if I could get the discount amount back (even showed my receipt that I still had in my purse). They "investigated" and told me it was in fact not on sale, and they "forgot" to take the sale sign down. I sadly accepted this and then looked it up online later, where it still said it was on sale. - They no longer carry my favorite wine from New Zealand which was really hard to find. Total Wine does. - Comparing prices to sales at chain grocery stores or other big box liquor store (TW), Bevmo always loses. - I discovered Total Wine, which is like Bevmo but 3x bigger, more selection, and they have weekly coupons, promotions, free in-store tastings, and a club card. This place gets me into so much trouble. Seriously, I walk in with an ONE bottle intention and walk out with a couple more than I had wanted. But, who cares, apparently, according to family and friends, Drunk Sue Ann is just as fun and wild as Sober Sue Ann, which is good because Drunk Sue Ann has been making a few more appearances than normal lately! They have every single kind of liquor you can think of and even some you didn't' know existed. Being invited to a thanksgiving dinner 2m night wanted to bring a nice bottle of wine. So I asked a lady who was done helping another customer. She was very nice and friendly and was willing to help us with no attitude or rudeness. She gave us a variety of wines to choose from and from different price ranges. Sure, there usually are only three staff members working at a time (give or take one more), and the store is pretty big so sometimes it can look like it's understaffed. But truthfully, unless a sudden wave of a dozen people come in (which might happen if there's a wine tasting going on), they're pretty on the spot with their service. I've been here a few times and I have to say that three out of the five times, I've been treated well and with great service. In my most recent adventure, a staff member even guided me to the wines I was looking for (Moscato D'asti---my favorite). He gave me suggestions and was able to talk about all of the selection available; quite knowledgable, and it was a great help! I really appreciated it. There have been times too, of course, where I've been to this Bevmo and the staff has just been focusing on restocking items and didn't bother asking if I needed help. So in part, I think it depends on who's working but overall, I haven't really had a terrible experience here and my last visit in particular really boosted my impression of this particular Bevmo. p.s. if you don't have a Club Bevmo card, get one. It's free. Takes maybe 3 minutes to sign up. Will save you LOTS. If you give them a phone number, you can just use that in the future, rather than have to carry the card around. p.p.s. I think it is obvious....but you come here primarily to buy alcohol. I went in today and Greg dropped his restocking to help me calculate how much liquor I would need based on my recipe and amount of party guests. He then proceeded to explain different IPAs that I might like and THEN escorted me around to pick up the right bottles for my recipe. Someone who seemed like a manager also pointed out Bevmos new cinnamon whiskey since I said I liked Fireball. Everyone seemed eager to help and was very friendly. I was shocked by how much Greg went out of his way to help me and how knowledgable he was, great customer service! The reason I'm not putting 5 stars is because Hung at the register merely grunted at me while checking out and was not friendly at all....I guess 3/4 employees is pretty good though. read more

I recommend signing up for the free ClubBev membership card because a lot of the advertised prices are with that card only. But the last 4 times I've purchased beer here, its been expired. Blue Moon, Corona Familiar, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, and now New Belgium. This review isn't based off the items and products because all bevmo's are practically the same. This is based on service and the stupid rule they have. I'm 23 years old. My husband is 30. My husband looks 30 and I probably look about 16-17 years old. We were going to buy one bottle of champagne for my in-laws 35th wedding anniversary but we didn't get to because I didn't have my I.D. I was NOT buying the alcohol. My husband was. I don't see why I needed my I.D. for my HUSBAND to purchase a bottle of champagne. It's kind of ridiculous if you think about it. The poster on the front of the store says you need to be 21 or older to purchase alcohol and you need to be accompanied by an adult 21+ if you're a minor. If the cashier lady thought I was a minor than it would still be ok for my husband to purchase the alcohol because he had his I.D. Right? I've never had to show I.D. In any other bevmo for just walking around. I dunno, maybe I'm wrong. I just think it's stupid to I.D. Someone who isn't even buying alcohol. That would be like a restaurant making everyone at the table show I.D. For one person getting a drink. It's ridiculous. Maybe I should bring my social security card and birth certificate, next time my HUSBAND decides to buy alcohol. Because apparently my I.D. Is also my husbands. read more

I always end up leaving here with 4+bottles than I had intended to buy. I'm not mad about it, actually I'm happy... a lot of the new stuff I try I like :). The parking is really good here and everything is always stocked. I hardly ever need assistance aside from asking someone to grab me some alcohol that's locked up. I love how they sell plastic shot glasses and carry snacks that compliment their bevarages. On top of that they carry the syrup for snow cones AND they have some kick ass NON-alcoholic drinks too!! Minus one star for the long lines. It's worth the wait but they need to open up another lane when the line starts wrapping around to the aisles. read more

I am a big fan of bevmo in general. This one is great because in general the customer service has been great and the lines are usually really fast. Bevmo is my go to place to buy wine. I wait until I get a coupon in my e-mail for $15 off $100(sign up online) then I will stock up on the buy one get one 5 cents off wines (I believe there is another discount for buying a case). I will end up getting $10 wines, for about $6 or 7 each after all the discounts. I used to buy from grocery outlet thinking I was getting a bargain however there was many times were I literally had to throw the wine out. It was that bad! My go to winemakers are "Unruly" for easy drinking and a good price tag. A little nicer I would recommend Castle Rock. One wine I did not recommend was the Challis lane (I only tried the Zinfandel) There are WAY better wines out there, but I am speaking about every day drinking wine that tastes good and will not hurt your wallet. I also recommend those who wanna try a stout beer to try Anderson Valley Oatmeal Stout, very tasty. read more

Tonight was the second time I have been to this store to Buy Beer. My cashier was an older Oriental guy with terrible mode and no smile at all. I forgot to bring my discount store card that night and I have just signed up a week ago so I guess my phone # was not in the system yet. The upset looking cashier asked me about my # about 3-4 times ( It was not coming up in his system) with a very rudish attitude throughout the transaction and made me refill a new card, I put the city ( fremont) but I forgot to put the State and Zip, he again with unpleasant way he gave me back the card and insisted I have the State and Zip code ( just to give me hard time). What a great store. Filled with selection of liquor, wine, water, sodas. All they are missing is probably HOLY WATER. I always had a great experience shopping here. Very knowledgeable staff with a very personable service with a smile! I love smile! Ohh and their store is really clean. MAJOR PLUS! I think they have one the best wine and fancy water selections man. i always get VOSS water. Something about that fancy ass bottle.
