It's hard to watch 3 employees socializing at a closed register when 6 people are in line for the 1 register that's open. When I mentioned "maybe this isn't a great look for the business" the response was "we're required to fill GoPuff orders as a priority." Figuratively and literally ;) I love that the beer selection is always evolving and changes seasonally with the local craft beer releases. This is the second time I've been to bevmo as an insta cart shopper and the customer service is the worst ever. I will never accept an order again for this bevmo. The cashier named Andrea is so amazingly rude an unhelpful. I asked if she could help me find a few things, she pointed in the general direction. For beer, this is unquestionably the weakest BevMo in a 20 mile radius. BevMo in general is a great store, but for *BevMo* the selection at this one is extremely disappointing. I'm a beer guy--and in general the inventory is probably 1/2 the size of what most BevMo's have. In the refrigerated area, they have exactly *zero* refrigerated 22oz bottles available. Ridiculous! I've also tried a number of times to buy kegs here, and I've struck out every time because they seem to never be able to get anything fresh (newer than 3 months old) of what I've requested. Hard to understand, but I have tried on multiple occasions unsuccessfully. It's frustrating this BevMo is so lackluster as there aren't many options nearby. If you're into beer as I am you'll have to go to Holiday in East Escondido or a better BevMo (Mira Mesa, Carmel Mountain, etc.) to find better selection. read more

This BevMo location is very convenient as it is just off the freeway and close to home. I am a BevMo club member which saves me a little money with coupons and the like. My main reason for shopping here and the five star rating is their beer selection. Specifically, they carry Shiner beer from Texas. There are a few locations that sell Shiner here in Escondido, but this location is closest to our house. I've found the staff to be very friendly and helpful during my visits here. The store also stocks a very nice selection of wine, as my wife prefers Sauvignon Blanc and there are many great choices here. There is also a very nice liquor selection, as well as party supplies. Cocktail shakers, napkins, swizzle sticks (love to swizzle from time to time) as well as a great selection of bar supplies...olives, cherries and the like. If you enjoy a good libation from time to time, give this BevMo a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

The manager is awesome! Shes extremely friendly. Every time i come in we have a quick conversation about any current event. I really hope that corporate sees this review so they know that one of their employees is causing not only me but a few close friends of mine to never shop there again. I want to preface this and say I never write bad reviews but I feel the store should know. On 5/5/2020 around 2:30-3pm, a rude employee was on shift to cover the front door where the store was handling curbside orders. This store is currently handling online curbside orders which is understandable given the covid circumstances.....Anyways, I didn't have a pick up order but just a small question to ask. I figured since I pass the store on my way home I could just pull over and ask instead of calling. There was only 1 person in line outside so I get six feet behind her. The rude employee asks her to step up and in a very rude tone asks for her name. The customer tells her. Rude lady then asks for her ID to confirm order. Poor customer kindly apologizes and says she forgot her ID in her car (which was literally less than 20 feet from us). So she runs to her car and the rude employee points to me and yells "SHE SNOOZES SHE LOSES!....NEXT IN LINE!!" I tell the rude employee I can wait a second for that customer to grab her ID and she says no and tells me to give her my name for my pickup order. I proceed to tell her that I don't have a pickup order and before I could ask my quick and easy question she yells "THIS IS CURBSIDE ONLY IF YOU DONT HAVE AN ORDER IM SORRY" then of course yells "NEXT!" signaling to the customer who just got in line behind me. So I tell this rude employee that I have a simple question and she looks at me annoyed waiting for me to ask so I ask her if they sell solutions to clean keg lines and she quickly snaps and says "NOPE, NEXT IN LINE PLEASE!" I just walked away and drove home. Coincidentally that very next week, my friend comes over and tells me she just stopped by BevMo and yep it was the same one I went to. She said the lady at the front was the rudest person ever and that she's never going back there. It seems this is probably how this employee works and is scaring off customers left and right. HHHHHHMMMMM. Just thinking of Bevmo makes me want to load up the boxes with all sorts of libations! This is easily the best go to place for most anything beverage, or alcohol related. You can find everything you could possibly need (except Kurisawa Saki )...and if you are not sure, the staff can help. I walked in and told the gal I was looking for a bottle of Scotch to give as a gift. She was super knowledgeable and get me into a bottle that was within my price range and that I was pretty sure the recipient would like. I like that this place is in Escondido. I don't have to go far to get different types of beer. I can even search online and put an order together and then pay for it and go pick it up. Really good service with great selection. Their prices are pretty fair for what you are getting. Basically they sell alcohol that many places don't sell normally. Expect to pay a little more for that. You can also get kegs and snacks here as well as well as hard alcohol. I usually buy 7 or 8 bottles of beer and come back in a month or whenever I finish them. read more

Talk about an alcoholic's paradise! BevMo has everything from hard liquor to beer and wine, and a bunch of other great stuff that caters for parties. Not sure if these are the best prices in town, but they've definitely got the best selection. Most grocery and liquor stores don't carry half the stuff that BevMo does. I've always had a great experience here from discovering new liquors to exceptionally great service. The staff are usually pretty helpful and knowledgeable about their products. The only negative is that every BevMo in So Cal seems to have a soft spot in their heart for Stone. Me, not being a huge Stone fan would appreciate if they would carry some additional brewers beers. Though this place has many varieties of stuff, they need to work on their customer service. I came looking for something and some old lady, though knowledgeable, wasn't very keen on customer service. Got me to sign up for a bevmo card to get discounts but their system apps was lousy. So I didn't get the discounts like she tried to advertised and all. She said oh wells the apps didn't work, shrugs, and then walked away. Oh wells, guess I won't come to you then nor buy things here again. I went for curbside pick-up today; after pre-ordering/paying online. The tiny little gal with long, dark curly hair that helped me was so sweet, polite and accommodating. I've recently had surgery, so I pulled up at the curb to quickly grab my order, because I can't walk very far. A tall, rude guy named James, wearing a white t-shirt with an apple on it, went nuts bc the entire curb out front is a fire lane. Really? The parking lot was empty and there was me and one other person that just finished their pick-up. Um, is the store going to catch fire in the next minute? He said he would bring my order out to me. Instead, he snapped at his co-worker, the tiny petite gal, to carry it out instead. His tone throughout was so rude, not just to me- the customer, but also to his coworker. Is chivalry dead?... the big guy answers a phone call and yells at the petite gal to carry my case of wine?!? Ladies, if James is your boyfriend, run! This place has always been good to us but today a lady up front shorted our order by a 12pk of beer. My wife called me and I let her know there should've been a pack on the order for it as well. She went back to let them know the order was short and the lady upfront accused her of lying and said they were working on checking the cameras to confrim because "they knew for a fact that the 12pk of Pacificos were inside a box with the bottles" that was the same size of the pack of beer. Makes no sense that alll that would fit in that small box. They finally gave it to her in the end. Guessing the cameras showed them they were wrong. Guy upfront was nice though. I work in customer service and it should not have been like this. One bad experience like this could be the cause of loosing more customer if this happens to them. read more

This is a pretty good place to stock up... especially during their 5cent wine sale! They have a huge selection of anything alcoholic. It was a bit overwhelming at first, but after a few walkarounds, it's not so bad. Prices are pretty reasonable. They also have a pretty good selection of non-alcoholic drinks, and bunch of different snack foods. It's a pretty good one-stop-shop for any sort of party or gathering.
