One of the smallest BevMo stores I have been in. Had a fairly good selection of wines and the most popular beer and hard liquors. Aisles seemed narrow and difficult to maneuver when two people meet heading in different directions. Staff very helpful and friendly. Will stick to the larger store in Ladera Ranch. read more

Just moved to this part of town stopping to get some beer and wine after unpacking all day only to be met with a rude aggressive cashier who is old at 5:07 on a Saturday. Will not be going back rush me through the transaction required me to sign up for the membership to get the DL wouldn't explain the pricing otherwise then cost me two different cashier they get a double -0 for the experience here we will not be back read more

CHECK YOUR RECEIPT! This place is charging more than the posted price! Purchased a few Stella Rosa bottles, while in the area for work. The price on the shelf was $9.99 ea. when I got back home to Long Beach, to my dismay, I saw I was charged $12.99 ea. I will never be back. Orange County Weights and Measures will be notified! read more

I am saddened to say that my husband could not provide the name of the staff member who was so surly towards him. I am recovering from a surgery and he did not want to go far to buy some non-alcolholic beer for me; we usually buy it at Total Wine off of El Toro...great price and friendly staff. He was told by a friend that BevMo will match prices so he picked up 6-6-packs of Bitburger 0% alcohol. Oh " no, no, you can only buy 2" at that price! He put the rest back and will probably never return. As I said, no name to report but she was very unprofessional and unfriendly; too bad, closer to our home, but who needs that?! read more

I thought BevMo was a "discount" liquor store. Looking at the Scotch and Bourbon prices and selection I was unimpressed. Ralph's next door has lower prices and you can do all your food shopping there to boot. I buy Boddington pub ale four packs on sale at Gelson's for $6.99. The best BevMo could do was $7.77, but that requires you to join their "club" which I bet results in a spam blizzard. The building is fairly attractive thankfully because it dominates the entrance to the Lantern District at the PCH/Del Prado Y. The Dana Point sign on the wall inside is cool, but not cool enough to have me shop here again. Heck I might have to quit drinking, this hobby is getting too expensive. read more

Alejandro is rad! What I know about wine could fit in a shot glass. He saw what I had picked out for gifts based on what I remembered people saying, and he offered to show me similar wines on sale. They don't get commission, but he deserves to! read more

I don't normally post reviews but I see some complaints on here about this store and I disagree. I laugh at how people can worry about their perspective on what they think is a rude employee right now. Also, someone complaining about money not being refunded correctly because of a mistake in a charge is also silly. Listen, these workers are there taking multiple orders daily while risking their own health just to be sure you get your alcoholic beverage or what not for your comfy self isolation. Maybe the worker being rude was a result of a rude customer. Let's remember that for every action there is a...say it with me now, REACTION! Yay! Gold star! And maybe a mistake of charge was made and maybe they just weren't sure of how to correct it and that's ok too. Maybe learn some compassion and patience because everyone is human and sometimes mistakes happen. They are working under some pressure so give them some grace. I needed water. While every store in the area was out of water, this location had some! I searched almost every darn grocery store and convenience store for water and when I called this location, an employee named Allison said "no problem! We got you!" I have a young child at home (who uses it for formula) and this water was much appreciated after the many searches I did. Her and a gentleman named Kevin made sure to get my order over the phone so I wouldn't waste no more time, and they both recommended a good wine for me and a good beer for my husband. When we got there, Allison and Kevin had our order ready to go and even had a good conversation with my husband. These employees and managers are working hard to keep items in stock during this time when they are not readily available in other stores, and they are making sure to take ANY and ALL sanitary precautions to keep their customers safe and themselves. They are tired, they want to be home and be safe too, but they are taking pride in their position to help us! I have noticed many people being rude during this time and it's unfair to the people who are working to keep our essential needs open. So remember, if you think someone is being rude then take a second and ask yourself how your attitude is coming across, or even your vibe. It's a stressful time for us all so be kind and be patient. Not everyone is running off of peace and calm right now. So a big THANK YOU to this location for going above and beyond for customers, and thank you to Allison and Kevin for helping us that day! That's humanity and that's compassion. Y'all are great! And the wine and beer recommendations for us to relax with were yummy! read more

Although this Bev Mo is physically small, it is well stocked and the staff is super helpful. Reviewers who give this a one star because they don't like the sign coming to DP, perhaps need to focus their attention on the actual store. Insert eye roll here. Maybe you should give the city of DP a one star, but don't take it out on the workers who work hard there. The manager Andrea is a wealth of knowledge and super helpful. Her knowledge in wine is incredible! read more

I order cases from here rather frequently and everything has always been perfect. I love the convenience of the online pickup counter and the variety of snacks, beers and wines. Everyone is always on top of it and friendly. read more

I commend this location for having its act together during the pandemic. They strictly enforced their "one customer in the store a time" rule. They also ensured that customers lined up on the designated social distancing lines clearly marked outside the store while waiting their turn to enter. They kept a close eye on this and told people to move if they were not in the correct spot. All employees were wearing masks. They kept at least a 10 foot distance while reviewing the inventory from my online order. And they quickly identified and refunded an amount for an out of stock item. If all stores would operate this way, it would make life a lot safer and easier during this difficult time. read more

As soon as I walked inside the store I didn't have a good vibe. The manager kept eyeing me and my friends up and down like we didn't belong there. One of the guys from the group found what he wanted so he proceeded to pay. The cashier asked him for his ID and then asked for all of our ID even tho we all left the store frustrated, none of us was buying. We are all 21 and I think it's ridiculous that this is the first time this has happened to me and I don't ever wanna come back again. We left with nothing but frustration read more

Horrible experience with a staff member at this BevMo Dana point location! I walked into purchase high end tequila, Clase Azul reposado to be exact and I asked a staff member who was dreadfully rude where the restroom was and he said, "its closed!" Which I said "ohhh it's out of service?" He said, "No, I just cleaned it!!" And I replied, "Is the store closing soon?" Which he said, "No the store closes in 40 minutes!" So, I said, "If the store is open and the restrooms are not out of order as a costumer, I can use the restroom! Which he replied, "You can buy, but you cannot use the restrooms speaking to me in a disrespectful manner. I was so shocked that there are people working in a management position or in charge of the store for the time being, who can speak down and with an arrogant attitude to a customer. I tolled that gentleman, "you need to talk to customers in a proper manner! Then, he turned his back, so I left the store. I didn't not get the name of this person but the incident occurred on 5/5/19. This employee should be written up by higher management, I always shop at BevMo and because of this employee this store loss a $200 purchase for 2 bottles.I am just one costumer, but if these type of working employees continue to act in such manner toward paying costumers this location will lose money. read more

HUGE thank you to Allison and Tara! They were so accommodating and made my visit a breeze! Giving a toast to these two tonight!

I was really stoked to find out that BevMo was opening this store. Yes it is small but thats the size of the lot and they make it work very well. I think I've met almost all the staff and they've always been helpful if I needed it. read more

Everyone knows BevMo has a great selection of "adult beverages." The issue is customer service. Stopping in to pick up a twelve pack of beer about 8 pm on a Tuesday night, I needed to use the public restroom. The salesperson informed me, the restrooms had been cleaned and were not available for use. Huh!? Is this common practice? Since the store closes at 9 pm, shouldn't the restrooms be open until then? As another person wrote, prices are the same or better at other stores, so spending my money at BevMo Dana Point will not happen again. read more

Andrea and Mark were not only helpful but a wealth of knowledge. The layout in the store as nice as it was my first time at this location and was very easy to find. I can't even imagine the rent for that prime of a location but it makes it a lot easier when I need a specific bottle of wine for my mother-in-law who lives down the street. read more

I generally like bevmo but I find I go there only as a last resort. The prices have definitely gone up and the experience is never all that great. The Dana point store is my least favorite location. The sales staff is very unfriendly, arrogant and not at all helpful. read more

WARNING; Do not buy the warm (non refrigerator) craft beer here. My $56.00 craft six pack had 4 beers spoiled in it. This happened when I bought beers for my birthday last year. Last year I received a spoiled beer, saved it, and took it into the store with receipt thinking they would be concerned and offer a refund. The lady looked at me like I was stupid for bringing an open (capped) beer in. She took it, rolling her eyes as she walked off..and that was it. I replied "guess I didn't need a refund". So again today I saved the spoiled beers, w receipt and went in to talk to the General Manager. The assistant told me "she's not in till later" and "if I wanted to speak to her (Evelyn) best to come in Monday as she's probably to busy to talk to me today". How would she know, and isn't that a rude statement? Too busy to take a customers concerns, are you serious? I asked the A.M. why would I have to come back in when I'm here now. I asked if she could help and she said "not if you need something done". I explained I was a customer with an issue and "come back Monday" doesn't work for me. Are you f'n serious lady. WTF. This is customer service at its worse. Decided to never go back, toss my $56 beers in the trash, and, write this nasty little review as my gift back to them for the shitty beer & customer servicethanks Bev Mo, off to Total Wine, & more! read more

The new BevMo in Dana Point is a great looking store in a very central location. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Compared to other locations in the chain, actually liked the smaller footprint. The inventory is better organized and curated. Found it easier to shop for varietal wine, with good choices in key price tiers. This store has more of a neighborhood feel, and especially appreciated the way Andrea, the store manager, is opening the brand in her own community. The design and ambiance of the tasting room was very cool. Looking forward to returning for an event there. Kudos to all. read more

I like the Idea of Bevmo, and I visited other location the staff have always been friendly and they do have a good selection. I do find they are more expensive than my local StatersBro's store so I am not so inclined to go into the store and shop. Sorry Bevmo, maybe be a more of what you are a wholesale Liquor store.. Good luck at your new location in Dana Point. read more

Great staff. I was shopping for a tequila party and I know nothing. Store Manager Lainie Reel spent a ton of time with me going through what I wanted and making suggestions for the tequila tasting and the margaritas. She showed me one of her favorites - a pomegranate tequila that was the HIT of the party. Thank you Lainie for the great selection and for all your assistance. read more

New to BevMo and explored the aisles. Had everything I need or could want. Staff took the time to help me find what I needed and suggested I attend a Saturday taste at the store. Look forward to going back to my new store and suggest all Yelpers to check it out if you have not been there. Lastly, Terrance..... Thank you for your help today!!!! read more
