I am so surprised that I've never left a review for this establishment. Especially since I was actively campaigning for Bakersfield to get one of these stores for years! I went to a discount store to get some of those Torani syrups because my trendy teenager has become obsessed with dirty sodas as of late. We were on the lookout for coconut, watermelon, pineapple, lavender, and dragonfruit flavors. We found the coconut and lavender flavors but that was all. They were priced at $7.99 each. We then headed down the way to good ole BevMo and found the watermelon syrup for $12.99. I also picked up a 4-pack of Cock N Bull Ginger Beer for $8.99 and then afterwards at another store found it for $5.99! I realize that both of the other stores I found cheaper products at were discount stores and I'm not holding that against BevMo, but I am taking away a star. read more

Returned and found that the fridges to the west side of the building were blowing hot air. All the booze stored in there was hot. It was like an oven. I told staff and they said it's been like that for a week. The still left all the product in there. That can't be safe to heat up the booze like that. read more

I always enjoy stopping by BevMo. You could always count on finding something a little bit different or outside of the box if you're into trying a new drink. Their prices are pretty comparable to other places around. What I do like is that they're always fully stocked. They have choices of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Parking at this particular location is a little tricky. It is in a busy shopping center so there is definitely a lot of congestion. The staff here is always very friendly. First of all ... they have ALL the different kinds of drinks you can imagine. I love the wide variety of selections. Also, when I didn't know what type of chardonnay was good, the workers there was so eager to assist me. Plus they gave me the heads up on the convenient of online ordering. Sorry BevMo! Not impressed. Yesssssss you have every type of alcohol available but no way to get it to the cashier unless you're an octopus. I saw 2 carts (in use) in the entire store and none outside. So...how do I get these large bottles of wine, liquor and mixers to the register? I didn't because I couldn't. When I suggested to the cashier that customers would purchase more if they had a way to get their items to the register, she stated that they had just purchased 30, 3 months ago. But yet? No carts. Definitely not more than 2. The line I was in had about 10 people in line holding on to all their items and even putting them on the floor from not being able to carry them. Another problem, the prices are ridiculous. Ridiculously expensive. I won't be back. Ever. read more

The selection is good but the service is lacking. Every time I come here the customer service sucks. There's only ever one checker or maybe 2 at the most. 2 employees were just organizing the little shooters while there were 8 people in line with one checker. First time here and at first was impressed with the selection. That faded fast when i realized the beer i wanted was not the one they were selling me. I wanted Fat Tire Amber Ale. They had just the regular Fat Tire which is more of a blonde. I made it clear that i only wanted the Amber beer. I was told even the cans are Amber, which the are not. Just because the company has the inventory marked as Amber, doesn't make the beer change in the bottles. After talk with them for a minute, i decided to buy the $22 twelve pack of beer. Fingers crossed she was right and i was wrong. Nope.. It was blonde. So i just paid $22 for lite beer. What a Fat rip off!! Not happy with my first visit to this shop. 2 stars only because the staff was friendly even if wrong on the subject. I will post a pic of the Fat Tire in a glass next to a Amber Bock. Tried the order online because I knew exactly what I needed. Got confirmation when order ready for pickup. Pulled into spot, checked in. Saw many go in and come out while I'm still waiting in my car curbside....15 mins. Later I call to ask if they see I've checked in. Good thing I did, they had no idea I was there, they were not notified! They brought out a very stapled brown bag. I said I would like to see and verify that's my order. The guy said ok but it will ruin the bag if we open it. I opened it and one item was missing! There was no indication that any item was not in stock... clerk assured me I wouldn't be charged. When you shop at BevMo for years and always buy a case or more at a time. Then they get rid of the carts and baskets do to theft. So I asked for one to make shopping easier. They refused. I asked for the manager , two girl came up and told me "Too Bad!" I told them I will never shop there again, they said " That's okay, someone else will replace you". Wow...what costumer service... My husband and I are not big drinkers, but we recently tried Ace's Space Blood Orange Cider and really enjoyed it. Thus, we decided to stop by BevMo to pick up a six-pack to enjoy at home. We also grabbed Rekorderlig Passionfruit Cider. We recently discovered Rekorderlig and this brand is one of the best ciders we've had. I would highly recommend it! Finally made it to BevMo recently. Heard so much about this chain store, but never had much reason to come here before. I do not drink alcohol too often. Since we were shopping for a certain wine for my sister, I knew this was the place to start. Stepped inside and we were greeted right away. The store looked terrific. Everything was well organized with good signage. Made navigating the store easy. While browsing, I discovered they sell non-alcoholic drinks as well such as my favorite Ginger drinks!! Very much needed place besides trying to find your favorite at the grocery store. Besides being the grand opening this place is a million times cleaner and maintained to a higher standard than any other BevMo I have been in, unless this is the new layout across the board. The prices arent to bad compared to the average store selection but you get 10X the selection for a reduced price. We came in on the weekend with a specific purpose. We wanted a bottle of X-rated Liqour we had seen on a previous visit. It was $3 off that day, win! My husband and I looked at the other deals and as always, their staff is very helpful. We asked about these mini kegs they have that you don't need to purchase anything extra for, except maybe ice. I loved that the line is far away from the registers and that employees had masks on as well. I already know that we will be returning for a few more bottles of liquor. read more

So i come here usually for the alcohol i can't find anywhere else but the other day i came here because i saw they had my rosé on sale and i also needed my Pink Veuvé which is delicious btw...anyway the people are always nice and helpful but my one complaint is The Champagne isn't refrigerated!!! Why??? I really have an issue paying $60-80 a bottle for champagne that isn't cold especially if i'm planning to drink it like as soon as i get to where i'm going i really don't want to have to wait for an hour while it's in the freezer!! They had all this other wine some cheap too in that fridge but not the most important stuff just weird....I did mention it to the guy that helped me and he basically just said he's not the one that makes the decisions but if it was up to him yea it would be cold. Just a suggestion if you are a store that Just does alcohol, wine etc.. it's a good idea to think about that since a lot of people just stop by on their way to a party, event etc. read more

Really cool to have a BevMo in Bakersfield. Nice beer wine and spirits selections, much better than going to grocery store or convenience store. Great savings when you sign up as a club member (Club Bev); you can sign up online or in store and it's free. The staff was very helpful, and with as many people as there were in there for the grand opening day, the lines went quickly. They also have tastings inside, in the back of the store, not just wine, all types of liquors and spirits. We will definitely be frequenting this place. read more

Great selection of alcohol for sure. Prices are a little bit pricier for some items than at other stores. We mainly go there for Hibiki and other specialty drinks we can't get elsewhere. Sometimes costco will have it on sale, but it's rare. Staff can be rude at times, kinda like you're inconveniencing them for doing their job. One time we went when they first opened to grab some Kirin. I wasn't sure what line to get into since none were open. I asked the group of workers that were standing together talking at the cash register if they were open.
