I often do yoga exercises, but wanted to really challenge my core strength. The Advanced Pilates "fire" group class I took did just that. I let the instructor know before class that I endure a lot of pain from scoliosis and how certain exercises cause neck pain, and she provided safe and effective moves that left me feeling rejuvenated and without any pain. There's cardio to begin with to get the heart rate up, strength and balance movements, and yoga and stretching time on a mat. It's a great open studio with room to spread out, loud music to get you jumping, and kind and helpful instructors. I'm a bit older and out of shape so didn't keep up with the entire class, but everyone is encouraged to go at their own pace. You will sweat, so they provide towels. They also provide weights, balls, and mats to use during class. They also have childcare if needed. Bring your water and you'll be set.
