Relatively small location located in this strip mall in Vestavia Hills…read more They really had a good selection to choose from, especially when it comes to wine. Most liquor stores, that I have been in, don't have this much to choose from (wine). Also, in the back of the store they have beer from local breweries, nice touch! I don't think I've ever been in a liquor store that has beer, let alone promotes local, really cool. As for the rest of the store, there is the standard selection of vodka, tequila, rum, whiskey, etc. Since it's kind of a small store, they may not have a ton of stock of each item, but they have an overall good selection. Staff was friendly and greeted me upon entry and wished me a good day when I left. If I was in the area and needed something, I'd stop by this location again.

This store is a convenient option if you're in the area and need to make a quick purchase. While…read morethe selection is adequate and includes most standard products, I have found it to be somewhat more limited than the inventory available at the Mountain Brook ABC Store. One area for improvement is product availability. I enjoy Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur and was disappointed to learn that this location does not stock it or offer the ability to request special orders. By comparison, other liquor stores allow you to request certain products and the Mountain Brook ABC Store consistently carries Solerno Liquor. Additionally, customer service could be improved. As it is now, the ambiance of the store does not encourage customers to spend more money. It encourages them to get out as quickly as possible. A greater emphasis on professionalism, courtesy, and customer engagement would enhance the overall shopping experience. While the store meets basic needs, there is room for improvement in both customer service and product flexibility. I recommend this as a liquor store if it is the closest. Just get in and out as quickly as possible. Their selection is less than that of the Mountain Brook Store but they have most things. I thought you could request a bottle or case of a certain liquor but they do not allow that. I enjoy Solerno, a blood orange liquor, but this store refuses to stock it. Mountain Brooks ABC Store always has is it! The attitude of the employees at this store may benefit from a lesson in civility and professionalism!

When we finally made it to the counter, we stood there for about five minutes before anyone acknowledged us--despite there being plenty of staff on hand. The person who ended up taking our order seemed either overwhelmed, new, or unsure of what they were doing, which made the service less than smooth. That said, they do have a solid selection of beers. Unfortunately, out of the four stouts I tried in my flight, three completely missed the mark, and the one I did enjoy was just okay. To be fair, it was a busy event, so I don't want to hold that entirely against them. I'd definitely consider coming back on a regular day to see how the experience compares when things are a bit calmer.

I looked over the wine & beer options available. I selected the Quest Cabernet Franc, which was very delicious! Also , it ended up being the last of the bottle available for 2025. Prices were reasonable on wines by the glass. Pleasure is all wine also is store. They have an array of wines available for all styles. Pricing is comparable to other shops in town. The lady who owns the place has done a fantastic job at curating a remarkable selection of things that you're going to want to try. The vibes are cozy and the decor interesting. The price points span a good range so there's something for everyone. Definitely check out the wine specials. I picked up a dozen assorted bottles to fill up a wine rack that had gone empty, and I was able to do that for what turned out to be less than expected. Will definitely be returning once I need to do that again. Aside from the interesting selection of bottles and the friendly vibes, it's also cool to see new and quirky businesses popping up in areas that are undergoing a revitalization. You love to see it. Long story short this is a very cool spot that you should make it a point to visit. Take the wine lover in your life and let them marvel at the unique selection. She is basically a librarian of beverages. Her knowledge runs deep and she genuinely knows the story, flavor profile, and use for just about every bottle in the shop. Conversations here feel natural and educational, not salesy. A quick heads up for anyone not from Alabama, the state government makes things messy when it comes to alcohol taxes and pricing. That is not on Lenell. She clearly does her best to keep prices reasonable, but the regulations and taxes make it challenging. Knowing that, the value is still there when you look at the quality and uniqueness of the selection. And the selection is what really stands out. It is curated, thoughtful, and downright impressive. I was able to pick up several bottles I have never seen before anywhere else. This is not a grab a bottle and leave type of store. This is a browse, ask questions, discover something new kind of place. If you enjoy unique spirits, interesting bottles, and talking to someone who truly knows their craft, Lenell's is absolutely worth the visit. I am really glad I stopped in and would not hesitate to come back next time I am in Birmingham.
