I expected the advertised price to be what it says, since, yknow, that is Florida state law: "Florida Statute § 501.976(16) mandates that the advertised price of a vehicle must include all fees and charges that a customer is obligated to pay." So I entrusted them, let them run a credit check, and then AFTER my credit check... they added in a $998 "service" fee. On top of that, they claimed that this was the lowest price for "cyber Monday". The sales people at Bev Smith have to sell over 200 cars a month to keep their job. they pressure you into buying the push you in cars that you are not necessarily like or able to afford. They just are looking at their sale sale sale sale and then when they say they service your car, all they did was top fluids off and say you're good even though your brakes need to be changed they're like no you're good. I did not plan on visiting Ben Smith Toyota, but I was contacted by a salesman named Mike who assured me they could help buy out my current vehicle and get me into a new one. I was also told that the dealership was offering up to $4,000 more than CARFAX value for vehicles, which was a major reason I agreed to come in. Based on those assurances, I decided to give them a chance. From the very beginning, I was completely transparent about my situation. I clearly explained that I am upside down on my current car and that my monthly payment is $800. I made sure all of this information was shared upfront so there would be no misunderstandings or wasted time. Once I arrived and repeated the same details to two different salespeople, the tone immediately changed the moment I disclosed how much I owed on my car. The saleslady's facial expression went from friendly to very serious, which was uncomfortable and unprofessional. At that point, I wanted to leave, but I was asked to stay so they could "see what they could do." Another salesman was brought in, and while he was polite, there was no effort to follow through on what was promised. My car was not praised, evaluated fairly, or discussed in a way that reflected the condition or low mileage. More importantly, the claim that they were offering $4,000 more than CARFAX was never honored or even meaningfully addressed. That promise disappeared the moment the real numbers were on the table. Instead of transparency or solutions, I was quickly told they couldn't do anything for me. If that was the case, I should have been told before being encouraged to come into the dealership. Bringing a customer in under one set of promises and then refusing to comply with them is misleading and disrespectful of people's time. This is not the first disappointing experience I've had at this dealership. It seems that once a customer is upside down on a loan, the staff immediately looks for reasons to shut the deal down rather than explain options or even be honest from the start. That pattern is extremely frustrating. I left feeling misled, dismissed, and that my time was completely wasted. Transparency should go both ways. If Ben Smith Toyota cannot honor what they advertise or what their salespeople promise over the phone, then they should stop inviting customers in under false expectations. The practices of this place is deceitful! Took my prius in because the brakes were acting up and lights were on the dash. Over 3,000 later I got my car back. My husband has the same car and developed the same issue with the brakes. He refused to pay the 3,000 and decided the buy the parts and try himself. Do you know that Bev Smith charges you 1/2 the price if you buy the parts online?!! If you take the car in the price for example is 1,000; if you buy online it's $500!! I just traded in my Ford Focus for a Toyota Corolla. The salesman AJ, was really professional and accommodating, worked with me and my budget as best he could and I totally appreciate him. Afterwards he had to put me on to the other people who deal with the financing part. There was a minor issue with my Equifax being locked and I was told by another employee named Steve that in order for him to help me lower my payments as much as possible, I would have to contact them and request to get it unlocked if I couldn't do it myself. He then explained, that will make the process easier. I got the car on Saturday, so Steve suggested I do it on Monday. I explained I would do it after work and he agreed to that, and seemed to have understood clearly. Monday afternoon, Steve called me to tell me that he already found a bank for me and he could only get it lowered by $5. I was annoyed by then because I said to him but you didn't tell me about finding a bank or that you would be doing that behind my back without asking me or informing me first your whereabouts. Steve got quiet at first and then asked me or told me just then, I could use my bank to help with the financing. He then asked me what bank I had. After I told him, he said he would call them on my behalf which by the way, I took it up on myself to first call my bank to find out if anyone from Bev Smith Toyota called them on my behalf about financing a Toyota Corolla and they said they couldn't find any of that information. While I was on the phone with my bank, I got a message from George Neyra, he called and left a message with his phone number and asked if I could call back. I decided to hang up with my bank because I was on hold too long and decided to call George Neyra. I explained to him how I felt about the way Steve handled me, how I felt played and deceived and didn't appreciate the lack of proper communication, and George curtly cut me off, denied everything I was complaining about Steve, and was totally insensitive to anything I was saying, not too mention, came off very abruptly and completely unprofessional! His reply was, If you want to speak with your bank first go there tomorrow and then bring me the draft tomorrow, and Steve wasn't trying to go behind your back no such thing! I told George that that wasn't the information Steve gave me on Saturday, and George totally denied it as though I didn't hear correctly, I know what I heard, otherwise I would not have been going through with the current plans I had in place to call Equifax first. About an hour after I spoke to George on the phone, I went straight to my bank and explained what exactly I needed. The representative immediately came to my aid and first started asking me questions on the numbers and rates. I told her I would get whatever paperwork I had had in my car. Come to find out I wasn't given any paperwork nor was I given a flash drive. so I suggested that the representative call George and speak with her so she could get the information to definitely see if she could help me. The representative and I were appalled and very taken aback by his unprofessionalism. She gave me the phone to try and speak to Mr. Neyra, to see if he would just give me the information on the phone. George Neyra was adamant that he would send me an email, even though I expressed the importance of just giving me the numbers and rates over the phone. He knew it was me on the phone and not someone else because he acknowledged me clearly. George then curtly cut me off again while I was talking and put me on to his manager and gave me no choice but to speak to her. She then insisted that she gets my email but first she had to print some information and then send me the email with all the numbers I needed, rates, numbers, etc. I waited with the representative at the bank for about 15 -20 minutes while George was on the phone and he would intermittently tell me his manager would be back soon. I had expressed to George several times when the email gets sent to me to please wait on the phone to make sure I receive the email and all the information it entails. George agreed he would do so, but when the time came for him to stay on the phone just a little bit longer as the email was slowly going through to me, unfortunately, George threatened to hang up the phone, and fulfilled the threat! The representative witnessed this behavior as well and once again was appalled and taken aback at the unprofessionalism and the curtness of Mr. Neyra, and his colleague the manager who also played a part in this. After all was said and done, first the email did come, but in the spam mail, and when I opened it, there was no information there, it was just a blank email. I was interested in trading my Tacoma for a new one. I wanted to see what my truck was worth. The salesman asked for keys so it could be looked at. He took pictures but never drove it. He didn't need the keys. He tossed my keys to another man which then was tossed to another and walked off. I was shown a new truck the cost more than I wanted to spend and was told I could afford it. $659 a month. I said no that I wanted to look around the lot. He wouldn't let me leave the trailer and called for another truck that was even higher! I asked for keys and they give you the run around. They take your keys and don't plan on giving them back. I had to ask 4,5 times for my keys back. I've heard stories that the police have had to go there to get peoples keys back. This place doesn't let you pick out the truck you want. A couple of old farts think they are clever and that they can talk you into things you don't want and to keep you at a desk all day in an attempt to trick you into buying a car. ago Their strong arm selling tactics was NOT appropriated! Before even showing us any vehicles they wanted all my personal info and then wanted me to sign a paper committing to buying from them. (Which I would not sign) Then after that they showed us vehicles but wouldn't even tell us the list price until after we drove it. I bought a 2017 Sienna from them, I was rushed due to my wife needing a car ASAP ! " Boy DID I GET SCREWED ! The finance guy has a desk that turns into a computer screen, sign here page after page he's real fast and slick, before you know it the add on charges and interest rate changes which means higher payments. They added GAP insurance and a car warranty a total of about $ 3,700 which I cancelled before the 90 days were up and my finance company did receive that amount that reduced my loan amount. Bev Smith is not the only dealer that does this they all screw you, so just be aware of the slick finance guys ! So I take my Sienna in for service due to an unknown noise underneath the car their estimate was about $ 2,800 an auto shop charged me $ 600 to fix the problem. read more

I was told I had to get gap insurance or the bank would not give me a loan it cost me $1,500. When I called the bank they told me I did not need gap insurance they lied to me. I only had one key fob and no carpet pads they told me to come back the next day and said the car was a certified used car 2024 as is. Completely unacceptable "Customer Service". This is our 3rd time experiencing this from Bev Smith Kia. These guys are extremely rude. We will never purchase a Kia ever again. We made an appointment to have my wife's car looked at because a light came on (they told us over the phone they have a device they can plug into the vehicle for a quick diagnostic). First of all, it took 30 minutes AFTER my scheduled appointment to even hear from some one. Then, we were told there is no device they can plug in because he (and I quote) "doesn't have a magic wand". If you're thinking of purchasing a car, look elsewhere. I had to pay $376.22 out of my pocket because my tire went flat in Kendall after I told them to look at my tire a week before because it was loosing air. As well as hotel fees. They only gave me $60 back after i paid for the service to check the tires a week before. Very disgruntled. I spoke with the customer service manager, the car service manager etc. They informed me that the tire requests that I made previously was not on the service document. We had to wait an hour to get into the business agents office to sign the paperwork. This Toyota operation runs a bait and switch operation. They advertise a price on line but have no intention of honoring the sales price. They waste you time with a cool salesman pushing the car. Only at the end of this process they shock you with a phony ad on .they do not honor the original advertised price. They put in this case a 7000$ phone mark up for a nonexistent items or so inflated u have to be so nieve to buy into it. Example nitrogen gas in tires that come with the car for $400 extra . Etc etc. so what happened to the original price you came in for. It's not happening. Finally they send out the head manager who was going to give you a trade value for your car and when you say what's all this B.S about he turns around and heads back to his office.
