I saw this doctor quite a while back when I was in so much pain, I was literally home bound and unable to do anything due to spinal problems causing severe radiculopathy. The consult involved him asking me numerous questions, and he would cut me off each time not allowing me to answer. Then he saw my meds, particularly the Lithium. He claimed that my pain was a result of my bipolar disorder and that he saw this sort of thing alllllllllllll the time. He refused to see my mri that I had brought from my ortho and claimed I had no medical issue. I then asked him why I was on disability for DDD and was paying with Medicare, which I obviously got no response for. Fast forward a year, and due to three herniated disks I had them replaced, had a three tier fusion, and a cage installed in my neck. Feel much better now that I found actual help thanks. This man is a medical gaslighter who clearly has an issue with the mentally ill, or at least with those who have bipolar. read more

Dr. Betts was amazing today from start to finish. I had to have a steroid neck injection. His bed side manner was amazing!!! Made me, a nervous nelly feel comfortable immediately. While in the surgical room, Dr. Betts described to a tee what was about to happen and what I would feel. I sit here tonight feeling so much better than I have in the past month. Full recovery might be 10 days but on a scale of 1 to 10 in pain from 10 being the worst. (Which I reported before the injection). I am currently at a 6 in only 8 hours after the injection. Michelle is KIND and so sympathetic to me when I called for my back pain today. I had an epidural for my neck in 2019 and again she helped enormously navigate the process. Michelle is exactly what you want as the gatekeeper to the doctor, competent, resourceful and kind. Dr. Betts is extremely professional and explains your options clearly. Attention opiate addicts. This is the perfect place to go. The doctor will prescribe any medication that is requested for any type of pain that you're having. While this may be a five star service to several people looking to score prescription drugs, if you are concerned about a love one getting medication, steer them away from this location as the doctor does not check the DEA report and will prescribe anything as requested. I spoke to the doctor and advised him that a family member was getting medication from two other doctors, and the doctor flat out told me that it was not his concern, he was treating the pain that his patient was having, and he did not feel the need to create conflict with this patient, by confronting them about other doctors and other medications that they were getting. Super long story short, there was an overdose based off of the medication that the doctor was prescribing. When the doctor was advised of this, he stated that it was again, not his concern, if the medication was taken other than how it was prescribed. read more

Dr Betts saved my life. I was in pain for a year and told I had a frozen shoulder by a Ortho Dr Ashkenaze, who seriously had no clue and really should step down as a Dr., because of him I'm stuck w/ a rare pain disease called RSD. After a year of idiots, Dr. Betts knew immediately what was happening to me. Told me to see a neurologist to rule out and confirm. The neurologist confirmed my worst diagnoses, however Dr Betts changed my life for the positive and for so many other ppl who I've sent to see him. Dr Betts is my angel! He has treated me since 2005. Highly recommend him. Junkies, do not apply! Take your addiction some where else. I will not allow drug addicts to trash this great Dr.! Decide for yourself. This is Dr. Bett's response when I asked him why he thought I was in so much pain: "Lady, I'm not here to tell you WHY you are hurting...I'm here to make you comfortable." The miscommunication with a particularly frazzled staff member was absolutely ridiculous! I was chastised for misusing an opioid when I called for a refill for another non opioid RX! Her exact words were: "YOU'RE GOING TO KILL YOURSELF TAKING THAT MUCH!" This was over the phone, (I can imagine what the waiting room was experiencing listening to that...the phones are answered at the front of the office, there is no confidentiality if your name is mentioned! Calls are answered and put on hold like it's a Pizza joint) I had to wait for her to calm down so I could point out her confusion...and I was the medicated one...what's up with that? Getting off all the meds Dr. Betts had me on was a nightmare! Thank goodness I found a pain management Dr. who actually wanted to rid me if my pain and not mask it. I've been opioid free ever since he got to the cause of the pain. read more

This guy does not know his head from his ass. I had/have a broken back injury. The last time I spoke with him he told me he wouldn't do anything for me besides pain pills until I had an MRI done. Well yesterday I got the MRI done went to his office and asked him if you could do something because the pain my back is excruciating. He told me no, not with an MRI would he do any kind of lidocaine block injection at the site of the pain, nothing. This is the guy you want to see only if you want to become an addict. Staff is friendly and worked with me on my insurance (I have Blue cross blue shield Tri-state east coast) for only a $30 co-pay I was able to see Dr.Betts and was given a very detailed and supportive plan as to how he wanted to treat me and didn't let me leave in pain. I have been suffering for many years because of herniated discs and pinched nerves. He is very professional and takes the time to listen to every word you say. I have been through hell and back over the last four and a half years. I have struggled with chronic pain. I had a car accident in 2013 which left me in so much pain sometimes it's just hard to describe. The last Dr that I have had to deal with absolutely put me through the ringer the last thing that was done after 2 years of not seeing me and only seeing his nurse practitioner who never paid any attention to what was going on with me, never knew what my medications were, including remembering medications that I didn't take because they made me sick. I walked out of there feeling like I was between a rock and a hard place. So finally I have found a doctor that cares that listens and has compassion. Today I saw him and he has helped me with my pain I feel better tonight just to know that somebody listened just to know that somebody cared. Dr. Betts is probably the first doctor amongst many that really cared about what was going on with me. Tonight I'll probably sleep with no pain, tonight I probably will feel better. I thank him for listening. All the members of his staff have a smile on their face when you walk in. They help you, they are kind they are welcoming and you don't feel uncomfortable in any way. I had a hockey injury resulting in damage to my tailbone. Another doctor suggested that I will have to live with the pain for the rest of my life. Not Dr. Betts. He fixed me about 2 years ago & I have never had an issue with my tailbone again. In fact, I resumed playing hockey again. Dr. Betts is the BEST and I would recommend him 100%. Quick office visit and said I need a cervical shot. Didn't mention any other options. I don't think he even looked at the CT scan from my orthopedic doctor. It was arthritis and nothing else. Did the "fancy" shot then he said I may need another shot in my bone spur. Total waste of time! Went to another pain management Doctor who was definitely superior and gave me several options. this doctor is the worst doctor my husband and i have ever been to.my husband suffers from neuropathy.we drove from temecula to san clemente.long drive.first sat in a room to wait so that we could look at all the pictures of the extreme sports he has done,concieted.when he came in there was my no eye contact at all.could tell he was bored because he was picking at his fingernails.part why through my husband's explanation i could see this blank look come over his face!he cut my husband off and told him there was nothing he could do for him and that he would prescribe a cream for his feet.this is without even looking at his mri!when i asked him to give me the script so i could get it filled in my town he said that he didn't want to give to me because he liked these "guys".he said that it was like making a cake with milk instead of water?wtf?can we say kick back!fast forward to three weeks later and still nothing,just called and the nurse didn't even know who we were.she said 'well i faxed it over'.let me call you back.still no phone call! read more
