The four of us ordered the vegan sampler and Clem's jerky chicken along with sides of mac n cheese and sweet plantains ($41 total). The entrees were definitely shareable and delicious! We basically finished all of it! Only other thing to mention is that there are only four small slices of the sweet plantains ($3), so it's not filling as an adult side, but I think they'd make a great snack for kids! I was so excited to have seen this restaurant, while driving home. I love Jamaican food. Not just because my family is from there, but because there's nothing like the aroma, and essence of home. The cuisine that is from the West Indies, offers a blend of rich flavors like no other. The fresh ingredients, and the freshest of spices (much that are from Jamaica) makes every meal a mouth watering festivity of flavors. As I parked infront of the restaurant, so many of the amazing fragrances of home filled my truck, and the outside air. Ya Mon! I knew the meal I was going to have, was going to be authentic. The restaurant is quaint, with the Jamaican vibe, and with a lot of the islands memorabilia. Our waitress (who is from Kingston) was very friendly, and cheerful, and even though she was the only waitress, and cashier at the time, (while the restaurant stayed busy) she maintained a happy, fun demeanor, and quickly took orders, served the meals, and kept on top of the refills. Very disappointed with the food. I'm from Miami we have plenty of Jamaican and Caribbean spots, the curry goat was extremely sweet. I order the cod fish cakes and it was all breading no fish. My burger was dry and flavorless. Disappointed after spending 40 dollars for four items. I order on Uber eats. my friend and I got takeout. I got the vegan sampler and she had the black bean burger, pineapple ginger drink, and plantains. We both agreed that the food was perfectly okay but not a place we would return to. She took issue with the texture of the burger (eerily smooth blended I guess), and my food was a little too sweet/salty/greasy for me. I placed an order over the phone for all my coworkers and it was a bad experience from the moment I got to the restaurant. My order was placed at 11am and they told me that all my food would be done in 30 mins. When I arrived there at 11:30 the door to the restaurant was still closed and they hadn't started making my food yet. When they finally opened the door the said they would have my food done in 20 mins but that quickly turned into an hour, not only was the service at the restaurant very poor, but the food quality was not good at all there was a hair in my eggs as well as a bunch of soggy, cold food. There were missing items that we never received. I'm very upset about this experience and won't be going back to them again. Also wouldn't recommend ordering through the phone because you will be highly disappointed by their lack of customer service. read more

Went today for the first time on Father's Day! Place was empty but towards closing time. The woman who took our order was friendly. We ordered 3 orders of jerk chicken and rice with peas everything was good. The jerk chicken wasn't spicy at all but she did include a side sauces with it and that sauce was spicy. The rice was good as well and the cabbage for $8 each meal was not bad at all. As a New Yorker, I am used to being able to find Golden Gems for food. I haven't been too impressed with Orlando since I've moved out here. But I can say I'm glad to have found this gem!!! This was the worst service I've had in Orlando this far. I came all the way across town to give this spot a try. After hearing how long the waits were with hardly no one in the establishment, I just decided to get a beef patty. I was told it would take 20 min to get one. I decided to take the only one they had in the glass to support the business. I was told I'd be charge 5 dollars for it if I used a card. I pulled out cash. The guy could not get into register. When he finally did, they had no change. The guy went to retrieve change. I looked into my purse and found change because, at that point, I'd been waiting about 15 min. A lady comes to the register. OMG, I am sooooooooo very pleased to have found this place a few months ago. The food here is amazing and the natural juice makes you feel like you are on the island beachside! Oh Joy! That is not all dear folks, the owner is an amazing woman! I love her kind soul. I went back today for dinner and I felt like I was home with family. Location of this place is great and upon walking in I was immediately greeted by friendly and helpful staff that were great all the way through. I was sitting for quite a while waiting for my food before it was finally ready. Initially I was frustrated by the length of time that it took and the wait but after thinking about it clearly I was pleased in knowing that it was being prepared fresh. Ultimately the wait was well worth it after bringing it home and finally eating it and realizing how great it was.
