    Float pod
    Tara Q.

I'm writing this review as someone who does not necessarily feel safe floating in an ocean/pool and who also gets a tad claustrophobic on occasion. I was intrigued by BBFC because float therapy had been something my husband was looking into and he said I should try it. I thought, "I don't think I'll enjoy this." I was wrong. Upon entering, you have to sign a waiver and then they go over all the do's/don'ts before showing you a room. They let you know what every button is for and what you should expect once you close the float pod. There is a private in-room shower stocked full of everything you need to wipe away the day (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel) and they provide ear buds so that the salt/water doesn't get in your ear while you're trying to relax. They have a plug on the side of the wall that connects to the pod so that you can load your own playlist from your phone for ample relaxation (you set your own volume from your device) or you don't have to use music at all if you'd like. My float experience can be broken out into 3 levels: 1.) Awareness - As soon as you get in, you immediately acclimate to the water (the water is body temperature) and begin your float time. It's such a different sensation that it took me a good 5-10 minutes to get used to my surroundings. I was breathing a bit heavy because I had opened my eyes and all I saw was black...nothing. It's a bit overwhelming at first but then you calm yourself with deep breaths and try to focus on relaxing. 2.) Freebird - After 10 minutes, for me, I was having fun. I was floating around the pod, tenderly bumping up against the sides and just enjoying the weightlessness. I was using my hands to touch the sides to see where I was in the pod and pushing away gently to go to the other side. I figured there was no chance I was going to be able to just lay there without moving around a bit and I was enjoying it so much that I began to think about how I was going to review it (haha!) 3.) Nothingness - After 10 minutes of the 'Freebird' level for me, I was completely relaxed and just a puddle of blah. My mind was clear, my breathing slowed, and I drifted away. There were moments that I didn't even feel like I was in water. I don't remember falling asleep, but I guess I did because the time was up and my 90 minutes were over already. After your time is up, you get out of the pod and head to the shower once more. Washing away all the salt that is on your skin (you don't realize that the salt is even on you when you're in there). They have towels, Qtips, and everything you need to feel comfortable. You get dressed and then head out. Off to the side of the lobby area, they have hot tea or water and a relaxing seating area with a full size couch to relax while you sip on your tea. You can take as much time as you want. Tips: -Ladies, let your hair down...I felt more relaxed without a ponytail -You can use the float pod wearing a swimsuit, nothing at all, or just swimsuit bottoms...whatever is most comfortable and freeing for you -The ear plugs they provide for you are best to put in when ears are dry, so put those puppies in before your shower -They provide a headrest that floats inside the pod...I used this the whole time because it was more comfortable for me -Once your session is over, a quiet water jet will start up in the back of your pod and the light inside the pod will turn on - it's very subtle but after 90 minutes of complete darkness, it may seem a bit abrupt My husband and I loved it so much that we're going back again before the holidays. Float the stress away!

This floating thing is crazy cool!

Brogan is incredibly knowledgeable and clearly understands how the body works--how muscles connect and exactly what to do after an injury. Every time I've come in hurt, she's known exactly how to help. If you're dealing with pain or recovering from an injury, I highly recommend House 12 Massage.

I happened to book a deep tissue massage with Brogan when she was at a massage company in Indianapolis and she's the only person I've seen since. I'm thrilled she's opened her own practice in Carmel! What makes Brogan's massages different? For one, her incredible knowledge of the body and how the muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia all work together. If I have a pain point (usually in my neck/shoulders) she can find it quickly and get to the root of the problem. Brogan's style is more geared toward those of us who want and need massages to work on areas of trouble vs. simply a relaxing massage. House XII Massage is located within a chiropractor's office in Carmel. Brogan has her own tranquil room where she does her services. Hot stones and cupping is included with the services while at other places it is an add-on. She did cupping on my body for the first time and I felt amazing afterward! I highly recommend visiting Brogan at House XII Massage to work out the knots and other pain points you may be experiencing.

(This makes me feel all sorts of feelings! Why can't things stay the same and continue forever and ever?) However, nothing is forever, darling. I now see another amazing massage therapist at Indy Massage Company named Matthew. He is pretty great, and I look forward to relaxing on his table each month at IMC. He is intuitive and firm yet incredibly gentle, and I'm able to just surrender and let him work his magic. I've mostly only booked Swedish massages with him, but one time I booked a longer session where he really worked out the muscles in my upper back and shoulders, which really needed attention. Indy Massage Company is one of my favorite places in Indy, and I continue to love visiting this place when I can.

She was extremely professional and really took her time with each muscle area that needed attention. I heard from their insta that they recently renovated and I can't wait to return and check out the rest of their staff and services!

He did an INCREDIBLE job working them out with hot stones, and used a scraper which felt great! Most places charge those as add-ons but not only did he not charge me extra but since I was needing extra tlc he went way over the 90 minutes and didn't charge a penny more! He doesn't rush through, takes his time working on areas that need more attention. I've been looking for a massage therapist in Indy with hands like his so glad I found him. I don't write reviews so to do this is really saying something! I feel fantastic and can't wait for my next appointment with Jason!

He was in communication with me throughout the entire massage, asking if I was comfortable or if the pressure was too light or too deep (it was always just right). He not only uses the power of his own hands, but he uses other modalities like cupping, hot rocks, massage gun, scraping, and probably some other things I don't know the name of. In addition to a massage license, he is skilled and/or certified in the field of physical therapy and sports medicine and even has an evaluation tool that he uses to help him (and his clients) visually pinpoint weakness areas (and probably other things!) so he can help correct that with recommended exercises and other therapies. The morning after my first visit with him, I got out of bed without stiffness. I didn't think that was ever going to be possible again. I have been very impressed with his breadth of knowledge and his skill and I will be going back for my third visit soon.
