This is one of my favorite Depots and my first Depot. The shop located in the really nice location,…read moreright inside Potsdamer Platz Arkadan. The size of the shop is big enough. They offer from decoration sands, lights to bed sheets, kitchen stuff and so on. Compared with other decoration shops, I like the style from Depot better, they go with the elegant and simple style, but dare to use color, which is keep the products fun in the same time. Although it is a bit pricy, I think it is worth it. You could see the back of the shop from the entrance. It is really organized and neat, even it is your first time here, you will be able to get use to their system very soon. Near the entrance, there are the decorations of the festival or theme of the present season. In the middle are the common stuff, such as vases, sands boxes. At the right side of the back are the bed sheet and some towers sort of things. At the left side are the kitchen staff. There is a small discount area, I always will have a look there, cuz' sometime they have some good design and useful staff there. The one thing is the products of Depot are generally more expensive than other shops, probably not everyone willing to pay curtain things here. I think most of the products here are acceptable. If you have enough budgets and simply just want to pick up some elegant but not something over price, then this is the place you are looking for. Just go in have a look, staff there are quite friendly, they won't bite. Thus, I like this place very much, by many different reasons. This is the first Depot for me, it showed me how many cool and useful things I could find with this brand. They also offer free new letters and catalogs. I like to go there to get what I need and be inspired!

The other good reviews of this hostel are really earned. In any detail, this hostel experience was…read moreone of the seldom good ones I could experience generally and for Berlin it was one of the best. There's a socket and a light at any bed: As a hostel owner, you can make your guests already so happy with just these two little things. There's no fighting for a socket, no possible argument with the roommates and makes life so much easier. After all, in a dorm, you never know the others before. If you need more sockets, there even are additional ones under the small side table under the window. Well in my room there was, I guess it is the same everywhere. Another highlight concerning the bed: There are devices to hang your towel / clothes. That's not only useful for things to hang at the bed. Sometimes in a hostel bed, you want to put a t-shirt over the edge of the bed. But if your bed is on top, you risk that the t-shirt might fall down on the one beneath you accidentally. In these beds, you can somehow tie them to the bed. A money saver can be the kitchen in the basement of the hostel. Nit every hostel provides one - this one does. There's a really big supermarket in just five minutes walking distance (just look up real,- Neukölln here in yelp). You can get whatever you want there and cook it yourself... And rather spend the saved money in one of the great alternative bars in Neukölln. The staff is really friendly and funny - I accidentally booked the room twice, as my booking app was malfunctioning. There were not mad and in a very friendly manner, we discussed how to solve the problem together. The check-in was quick and left no questions unanswered. It is possible to pay by credit card, but they charge you 5 % extra. No lock needed! You get a keycard to enter the room and to open and close one dedicated locker in the room. Attention! You need to deposit 5 € you get back at checkout. The locker in the room is a bit less big than two bags of standard aircraft cabin luggage. I know that because my bags were exactly that size... I could not fit them in all of a sudden. Still, with a bit of relocating the things (taking out some clothes out of my backpack), everything fit in well. All in all - for a single traveller, I can only recommend this hostel, especially for that price. Ok, it's not exactly in the center like Berlin Mitte. But you are two minutes away from the "Ringbahn", which connects nearly any important train in all of Berlin.

Only downside for me was that the Ringbahn runs all night, but you can get earplugs at the front desk. The neighbourhood isn't the greatest, but I had no problems at all. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. I could pay for breakfast with card (no credit card, due to cc charges.) on the first morning and my 5€ + some change after I had checked out on the second morning. Breakfast is 6.5€. The only downside to the beds is that the bedside lights are brighter than the main light and that there's no tray to put your phone/ glasses on. I think I'd consider this hostel again.

And let's not even get into the Daniela Katzenberger celebrity endorsement except to say that in her red and yellow get-up, she looks like a fast food employee... Anyway, we checked out some of their kitchens as comparisons, and they are OK looking, but didn't seem to be much better quality (or better price) than the kitchen we ended up ordering from IKEA. We also looked at the flooring and the selection was just alright. Nothing to write home about. That said, there are some great things you can get here, and for a pretty good price. We have bought some sheets here and are completely satisfied with the price and quality. But on the flipside, when we were looking at towels, they only had one brand on display that was not made out of great material, so that was disappointing. On the first level, it feels a bit like a Ross or a Marshall's (all you US folk know what I mean) with lots of small appliances and household accessories to choose from. So it's fair to say that you can make Poco a one-stop-shop type of place if you want. This location also recently underwent a remodel, so the escalators are gone in place of stairs. Lots of them. And a couple elevators too. I think this is a good thing...

Sometime I ever saw the tier commercial on telly, it seem like a cool place and yet I didn't pay a visit. Finally I found the right time and paid a visit. It was actually much better than I expected. First thing first, the price here is amazing. For people who has limited budget, this place is one of places should have a look at least. Well, most of the poeple think usually cheap stuff means no good design or poor quality. About the design, most of them were ok. I did find something were really nice and really cheap. What about the quality? That's one of the most important thing, when the topic about furniture. I didn't check all of their product, just some of them, such as wardrobes, tables and some other living room stuff. It seem ok to me. The thing is, I have been buy stuff from Ikea for years now. Even from the one of my favourite brand, thing still could go wrong. (A wooden turnable chair I bought from Ikea, it was broken after just 6 months used, and I don't think I am heavy enough to be the main cause), since then I think, when it is time be broken, no one can stop it. Even made of super everything. All have been said, I think this Poco market is smaller than I expected. Much smaller than Ikea and some other i have been. The arrangement inside the market is alright. It wasn't so difficult to get around. The other thing, I also found it a bit weird they only got one market in the city center. The rest of them kinda all far away from the center. At the end, I am happy that I finally visited Poco. It's quite famous here. It was quite nice experience. Although they didn't have any sample rooms like Ikea that can get inspiration from, they sure offer a good price for people who know what they want but only got limited budgets.

I ended up picking EastSeven after significant deliberation over nearby hostels (skipped due to availability and lack of a communal kitchen) and I was pleasantly surprised. Booked a room with two beds, expecting very uncomfortable twin beds, but was placed in a nice spacious room with one comfortable double bed and a twin stacked on top of another twin (perhaps to arrange the room into a 3-bed accommodation). Perks of the place: walking distance from Senefelderplatz, a corner store with alcohol and snacks, beer available for 1.5-2 euros, clean linens, clean bathrooms, and cute garden area with two hammocks for napping. Downsides: no elevator and reception/front desk ends around midnight. This place is definitely not a party hostel, but more so a nice quiet place to rest if you're on your long-winded Euro-trip. Early check-out is a breeze, just make sure you go over it with the staff at least 24 hours prior to your expected check-out.

Ubers are all over the city and they arrive FAST! The hotel has a gigantic glowing red sign at the top of the hotel so that if you are walking, you can spot it quickly. This hotel is located in what was East Berlin. It is a lovely hotel. There is a lovely grand staircase on the first floor. If you arrive and realize you forgot your power adapter, the hotel will allow you to use one while you are there. They will charge you 20 euros for the use and will remove the charge once you return the adapter. We book our hotels through Marriott.com and use the default settings, we were told that we need to pay extra for the second guest, we said no problem. Elevators: there are 3 running elevators. Room: on checks-in we asked if there were any room upgrades. We got a junior suite (Room 572). A keycard is required to make the elevator move. Room 572 is far from the center of the hotel. Your walk down a long corridor so I was thrilled it is far from the elevators. It is a nice spacious room with sitting area opposite the bedroom. The room runs hot, so we turned off the furnaces and then opened the windows to cool the room down. Even with the furnace off, the room was warm. There is a nice no brand Nespresso machine with pods. There is a mini fridge where you can purchase drinks to consume in your room. Bathroom: very spacious and well lit bathroom that made easy to apply makeup with plenty of counter space. The mirror is the right height for me at 5'8" tall. There is a standing shower. Nice amenities: shampoo, conditioner, body lotion. Living room: nice size TV, desk area with one plug with USB-C and USB connector. There are plenty of European plugs for charging. Couch for watching TV, 2 ottoman style seating for putting on your shoes, and a table for eating snacks. Bedroom: King size bed with nightstands on each side. The night stands have European plugs with 2 USB connectors for charging devices. Smaller TV and tiny when considering distance to the bed for watching TV. Gym: there is a small gym onsite with a sauna. The gym is located in an odd area. We were told go to room 513 and take the elevator down to the gym. Sure enough go to room 513 and there is a tiny elevator. Take it down and you come to a lobby area. The sauna is off to the right but the door was locked the entire time we were here. Then you go around the corner to a series of doors. Open the one directly in front of you and it opens to an awkward open area. It looks like a pool should have been built there. But there are seating places to the right and left and the incense is quite strong, maybe a meditation area? There is a workout area to the left with treadmill and stuff and a water station. Sleep Quality: during the day we could hear noises from other rooms and ambulances screaming by on the street below. At night we could hear people stomping above us but when it came to sleeping time, the noises stopped. The sleep quality was very good but the hotel felt empty for most of the days we were here. During the summer months, it might be a different story. Breakfast: included with our room since we are Marriott Elite. We ate there everyday for our trip and our last day, the young girl was your reservation is only 1 person. We said no, we paid at check-in and 2 should be included for breakfast. After quite is discussion, she was quiet and happy after checking. The breakfast buffet is very nice and highly recommend. There is a nice omelet station. NOTE: There are two Rewe grocery stores within walking distance of the hotel. The first one has a better beer selection. The second is within a bigger mall building and has a better bakery than the first Rewe. Bring your own bags or purchase has expensive reusable Rewe bag.

Asked for a free room upgrade based on my Marriott/Westin status and the clerk upgraded us to a junior suite. Room Junior Suite 572: A large, comfortable room, huge by European standards. The suite included a large living room and a separate bedroom with king bed. Both the living room and bedroom had smallish Samsung TVs (small by U.S. standards). Nice coffee maker and mini refrigerator. Bathroom: Decent bathroom with good counter space and great lighting. Downside is no tub- shower only. Water pressure was adequate. Mediocre but functional hair dryer. Bed: King sized bed with decent linens. We had to remove the heavy liner from the duvet because the room was on the warm side. Sleep quality: Better than average, but some street noise made its way through the windows. Housekeeping: Unless you're proactive in asking, the housekeeping is below average. For example, we had no facial tissues for 2 days. Once we left a note and a tip, the facial tissue was restocked. Sometimes complimentary water was restocked, some days not. Breakfast restaurant: Based on our Marriott status, we received a nice complimentary breakfasts. Service at the breakfast restaurant is pathetic, but the food was good. We consistently were not served coffee. So we simply grabbed coffee urns each morning. Staff for some reason only offered coffee and any level of service to older Germans. Anyone foreign or young the staff ignored. Overall service: Between reluctant and non-existent. That's Germany for you. Don't expect helpful staff. Gym: Small but functional gym with standard exercise equipment like treadmills, weights, etc. Power outlets: Be sure to bring adapters for German outlets. The room had no U.S.-type power outlets. Misc: (1) On our last day, we found a silverfish in the bathroom. Also, this hotel allows pets. We consistently heard dogs barking on rooms. (2) There's a Rewe grocery store about 5 blocks away from the hotel. Bring reusable grocery bags to haul your purchases back to the hotel. (3) We were skeptical but tried a Kebab restaurant nearby. Wow! The Donor kebaps are great! Try Mr. Kebab 4 blocks away.
