However, I'm new to Kansas City and was in desperate need of a massage. The front desk staff was friendly and calm in the sales approach, definitely not overly excited and chatty like I'm used to. The massage therapist, Jesse, was absolutely amazing. I would probably go as far to say it's the best massage I've ever had. I was his last appointment of the day and expected him to be fatigued and unable to use the amount of pressure I was requesting for a deep tissue, especially the entire time. I think he actually was using more pressure towards the end and it was exactly what I needed. I can't say enough good things about him. I absolutely recommend scheduling an appointment with Jesse at Massage Envy.

I have been everywhere to get a massage, from out of the country on a beach to different states, as well as local spots here in Kansas City. NEVER again will I come back to this place. She was nice. but lazy as hell. folks this place is not worth it. Also, they want folks to keep coming back. NOPE, not me. becareful they will keep taking money out of your card

Meadowbrook is in "Gardner, Kansas." I can tell you that I just arrived home from a three week stay at Meadowbrook, and all I can say is, "I want to go back asap!" I've been to other rehab facilities over a 20+ year period, but none of them compares to the number of activities, a fun and helpful nursing and CNA staff, and therapies offered by a professional staff who only have one thing in mind. To make you a better, healthier person before you're discharged. The therapists make you work hard to achieve your goals, and they do a damn good job. When you meet the social worker, Celina, you know you're in good hands. And when you participate in any of their activities like bingo, the activities director, Chelsea, will have you laughing and smiling all day long. It may be an older building, but what makes up for it are all the things I mentioned above, and the food is great too. I was so impressed by the level of love and compassion from the staff, that I'm planning on moving permanently into long-term care. In closing, I have never felt that I was appreciated and loved more than any other facility. I would highly recommend Meadowbrook for anyone who needs professional, one-on-one support from a friendly and funny staff.

The woman at the host table offered me a drink (I politely declined,) and then started a conversation about the different products available on the shelves in front of me. I didn't leave with any, but it was nice to learn about what the salon stocked and how it could help my hair. Anyway, a few minutes later my stylist arrived and led me downstairs where the magic happens. I showed her a few photos and explained what I was wanting and she went to work. Roughly 20 minute later - I had a new cut. The cost is competitive. I paid $40 plus tip (February 2026) and was in and out in about 40 minutes. I'm going to stick with my main guy, but I will recommend because I enjoyed my experience.

I strike up a great conversation with Cindy the front desk person about seeing live music, including people like Johnny Cash, Wanda Jackson, Loretta Lynn. Then I remember why I came in I was desperate to get a haircut. I had gone to at least three or four barbershops prior to finding this cutting place. Although they take walk-ins, it helps to have an appointment because they are busy. I had to wait an hour and a half so I went to the local vintage shop boomerangs right next-door, which was pretty awesome Anyway, my cutter was Felicia who did a five star job on my hair I got the cut that I wanted. I got to shave of my neck, the warm towel the shampoo and blow dry. This will now be my go to location as my cutter for 25 years in Los Angeles Unfortunately is sick and may likely need to retire. Oh, did I mention that Cindy offered me a drink from nonalcoholic to a glass of wine to a cold can of Hamms beer. That actually hit the spot. Easy parking in the adjacent parking lot. Be sure to check out boomerangs!
