However, after the experience that I had this last Thursday at their annual Rummage Sale, I had to share my thoughts! This was the most well organized, detailed, thoughtful rummage sale I have ever attended (and again, I go to SO many!!) Every single member of the volunteer staff whom were representing the church conducted themselves with such grace, kindness, and dignity. Everyone from elders, to teenagers were there to help, in a great mood, and I must say that it reflects so well upon the congregation as a whole. I should also mention: they had so many WONDERFUL treasures for prices you cannot find anywhere else (thrift stores included!) I do not live in the immediate area, but have family close by and will be sure to stop by for a service when I am in town, and I will tell the people that I know from the area about how wonderful the people and events here are. Thank you all for your hard work and kindness! It truly does go such a long way!

We've passed by this neighborhood church so many times but never attended a service in the past…read more We did attend a few Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University sessions here in the past though (which are highly recommended!) This year, we received a postcard in the mail where this church announced their Christmas services. We figured we'd stop by and check it out. We showed up around 4:20pm for their 4:30pm and were so glad we had come early because the place was filling up really quickly! They even had an overflow area with additional seating in the foyer area. The greeters and ushers were very friendly and welcomed us with huge smiles and handshakes. We were also handed a candle and wax holder/catcher thingie as we entered the sanctuary. We sang a few Christmas carols with a spin on them, heard a short Children's Message, and then the pastor gave a message about Christmas. The candlelight part of the service was neat. I've forgotten how pretty everything looks when the lights are turned out and only candles are burning. I was mesmerized by my candle and the burning wax. :P In their closing, one of the church staff announced that they had a little gift for new attenders, which was a book by Max Lucado. I thought that was a nice touch. As we left the sanctuary, we were pleasantly surprised to be given a huge cloth grocery bag with the church's logo on the front. Inside the grocery bag were some printouts of service times and a newsletter, as well as two fancy ballpoint pens, and a small Max Lucado book. They also had pencil pouches with school supplies and small toys for students too. I think it is so great that this church is reaching out to the community in this way. Definitely check out one of their services if you happen to be in the area. Pastors Aaron and Kassidy are the new lead pastors, and they are the real deal--authentic, approachable, and people of obvious integrity. They lead with humility, a genuine love for people, and a clear passion for Jesus. The church has a healthy mix of ages and backgrounds, making it easy to see that everyone is welcome. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and the moment you walk through the doors you'll be greeted with warmth, kindness, and enough smiles to make you wonder if they actually practiced beforehand. If you have children, you're in luck. The children's ministry is outstanding! It's engaging, safe, and fun, so don't be surprised if your kids ask, "Can we come back next Sunday?" before you even get to the car. Whether you're looking for a church home or just visiting, I highly recommend stopping by. Come as you are--you'll probably leave with a smile, some new friends, and maybe even a few people who remember your name better than your favorite coffee shop does.
