Ok, I'm finally getting around to reviewing Metro stations. This is a deep station like many on…read morethis end of the Red Line. The platforms are pretty run of the mill Metro platforms. Normally it's pretty clean. Once you take the long-ish escalator ride up away from the tracks, you end up in a covered area where the buses are. This area has a tiny Dunkin Donuts if you need a snack or coffee. As you head to the next set of escalators, there is a water feature (not quite a waterfall) that comes down into the station area from the surface. Nice to have a natural sounds in a very urban area. Once you get up onto the surface, you're at the corner of Old Georgetown Rd and Wisconsin Ave near several hotels and a Starbucks (in case Dunks wasn't your cup of tea). Pretty central to a of businesses and restaurants. All in all, this station is convenient and central to downtown Bethesda.

From there, you are located near the National Mall, Smithsonian Museums, White House, Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln monuments. Also, near the WW II and the Vietnam Wall memorials. The station is equipped for ADA via elevator near the main entrance and has ramps to the platforms. The elevator may have enough room for 4-5 people or 1 ADA Wheel or electric chair and two others. The trains are nice and clean. Not like other stations in other cities. Price is comparable to other cities dreaming from $2.50 -$6.75 depending the time and stop you are heading too. Use your phone, CC, or Smartcard you can purchase from the Metro. Also, you can plan your trip, purchase and schedules from their website @ https://wmata.com I highly recommend to use the site. Epic escalators! They are about 100' -150' deep before you get to the kiosk stations. Have a fun trip!

Stopped for driver switch halfway but they did t let anyone off despite it taking about 20 minutes. Temp was about 55 degrees - had long pants, long sleeves, 2 jackets, a sweatshirt and sweatpants as a scarf and was freezing.

The station managers are helpful and actually are visible. It's always clean and rarely you see bums or panhandling. Now if you have a smart trip card, I suggest you register it online and load it up with funds. Its safer and it will help cut back time to catch the trains. Parking is free on the weekends & Federal Holidays and like $5.20 during the week. You can pay with credit card ($5.80) or your smart trip provided that you have funds. You can park in the garage or on the lot (recommended) as long as it's not marked for commuters.

Yuck. The station itself is decent enough and because it's slightly below ground level, even though it is completely outside, it would be out of the rain. As mentioned, Grosvenor-Strathmore is on the Red Line. It has a center island platform (so that you don't have to go up and over and down to turn around). It is between White Flint (towards Shady Grove) and Medical Center (towards downtown).

This metro section of course, is convenient to the busiest part of Northern Virginia. I'll sometimes ride it, to avoid driving in the Tysons area. Yes it is that bad. This station being newer looks nicer. Yet it's still that utilitarian vibe. Having traveled on metro's of other countries, there's no art work or architectural achievements of note. That's kind of sad. Does it work? Yes although delays are quite common. I like this station due to saving me the drive, but otherwise there's nothing screaming excitement about it. This is public transportation, so people watching is available.

Bus stop is right around corner and running every 5-10min. Across the street is shopping center inc doller tree and 7-11 and Dunkin etc. You can spend time around this neighborhood too. Try to take 46 to rose ave. They have a new town and explore the modern neighborhood. Spring and summer is the best to be at this location. Nice winds come and go. weekend fair is $2.50! Elevator set up at this train station.

I took the DC metro for the first time this past week and really enjoyed it! Luckily, my dad was…read moreable to drop me off so I didn't have the hassle of paying for parking. On Sunday, my ride only cost me two dollars plus the cost of two dollars for my initial card which is refillable. Apparently you can use some kind of app instead of a card? But I haven't quite figured that out yet. However, there were three available machines to purchase cards and add more time. A worker so I needed help and was great. He got me set to go in just a couple minutes. I made the next train with no problem. I only had to wait about two or three minutes. The only confusion I had on my first visit was how to actually get up to the train. LOL. I could see it above, but couldn't quite figure out how to get there. Well you actually have to go down the steps to then go up after you swiped in. Just a heads up!

I always research trips and I thought I was informed about my travels. The wmata web site was wrong. On Saturday, Twinbrook was the stop I used when the red line was impacted by single tracking and repairs. On Sunday, I started my trip at Twinbrook since that stop was the solution the day before. The glitches switched locations. I learned that Twinbrook wasn't in service (after swiping my card). A nice customer told me about the changes. I left the platform and asked the station employee for help. He was probably having to repeat himself dozens of times during his shift. But I am one customer, hearing the information for the first time. He was frowning, unpleasant and gave confusing instructions. He was also pointing to the wrong exit. When I asked him to clarify where I needed to go, he was rushing me out of the area, telling me to get on a shuttle that would take me downtown. Where? I am fluent in sarcasm but I would not be disrespectful to a customer. Metro employees should be awesome whether I am paying full fare or $2.00. A nice bus driver told me to walk to the other side of the block. She was kind. I walked back into the station. Another Twinbrook metro employee walked me to the area when I explained that his colleague was needing a time out. I had already traveled two hours by car and was wheeling luggage around. Even when I am tired, I am nice. I took the shuttle to Medical Center from Twinbrook. Two opposite experiences in the same day. The employee at Twinbrook needs retraining. The employee at Medical Center needs a raise and a promotion. Kindness matters.

Appreciated trash bags on each row since we were constantly snacking and had things to dispose. On the bus, wifi was pretty reliable for me and temperature was good. Driver was really smiley to my toddler and only stopped for one minute to use the restroom. Safe, friendly drive up north!

BAM 25ish, tall, bitingly funny, while being thoughtful and respecting. I asked if V provided water and he apologized relating no, but then gave me a bottle from his chair. The ride was rough though, bus bounced so much that I contemplated taking Amtrak from Bethesda... But the last minute $300 fair priced me out of that option. Fares are a fraction of the price if you book ahead, as low as $25 if you book 3 weeks out and take the first morning departing train. The driver on the NY to Arlington lag, pictured... was rude and condescending. He yelled at me for not moving fast enough rounding the corner on the side walk, taunting me. I let him know that I have a spinal cord injury and couldn't move any faster, didn't help... He yelled at me again. Then once on the bus he turned around and glared at me hard, 100% throwing his weight around. He blocked the 2 front seats from paid customers with his personal belongings, a cooler, lunch bag and his back pack. Who does that? Eddie. This driver needs to be retrained. No one should be treated like this. Additionally, on the way back, someone smoked in the bathroom and that air circulated in the bus for an entire 3 hours. My lungs were begging for mercy by the time I arrived in Arlington. To save money, Vamoose will not allow the AC to run until departure time. So on a 100 degree day, the bus gets to heat up with the boarded passengers cooking on the inside and then it takes a really long time to cool both the hot bus and the overheated passenger to a comfortable climate. Avoid Vamoose at all cost. Take Amtrak.
