Everything is complimentary, so that's nice, but they do request donations; I'm not sure if that's the best business model, but whatevs. Live music on Sundays. Staff is friendly, but can get a little preachy. Sundays are busy, but the place is slammed on holidays. I've been once on a Friday; was told it would be "good," but it was actually somber and somewhat macabre. I'd give this place a lower rating, but for some reason I feel compelled to give it five stars.

For it is in giving that we receive." ― St. Francis of Assisi The Saint Joseph Parish and School in Herndon, VA, is tended by the Order of St. Francis (of Assisi). It is the Franciscans who walk the halls of the school and preside over Mass at the St. Joseph Parish. The comfort and grace of St. Francis is apparent in all they do and say. The Rosary is prayed each morning from 7:30 to 8 AM by the community before the 8 AM Mass. Unlike other Catholic churches which are moving away from having statuaries and altars to St. Joseph, Mother Mary, and the saints, Saint Joseph Parish encourages reflection and prayer to the all whom our Church possible. The Franciscan priests give wonderful homilies, making the Gospel accessible to all. It may not be a modern church or an aesthetic church (by modern standards), but parishioners are encouraged to pause, reflect, pray and discuss. In the memory of St. Francis of Assisi who reminded us that it is in giving that we receive, Saint Joseph Parish gives so much to those who attend, and encourages parishioners to share and give in return.

After being…read morein our positions for sometime we both began to get a bit more acquainted with our colleagues. My wife ended up becoming real close to her colleague which informed her about Heritage Fellowship she attended frequently on Sundays which suggested my wife and I should attend to see if we would like it. So one Sunday my wife and I woke up and decided that we would give this church a shot. YC (Yelp Community) we both were 100% satisfied with the church and the pastor (Rev. Dr. N. A. Tate). We were in such awe on the sermon he delivered. I mean he delivered the word in a way that it was easy for any person to understand. I mean you can tell that he had a lot of experience because he knew how to change and control the mood of the room with just speech. Something which I feel is very hard for a pastor to do. His sermon was so well prepared and delivered that I was hooked on his every word until the end of service. That is hard for pastor to accomplish especially with the younger generation. But Rev. Tate is very experience and is very good at executing his sermons. Since that first sermon my wife and I have been attending this church for over a year now. We get a little disappointed when he doesn't preach but the other pastors filling in for him do a good job as well but for me not as good but that's just my opinion. So if you don't have any plans Sunday and you are in the area then give Heritage a visit I know you'd enjoy it especially if pastor Tate is preaching.

They've got something for everyone - Traditional and contemporary worship services, Bible Study, service and mission areas, youth programs, and more! To gain an understanding of what Good Shepherd Lutheran Church teaches, look at their website..."Lutherans believe that all people are saved through faith in Jesus as their savior. We don't save ourselves by saying or doing the "right things." There is nothing we can do to earn salvation. It is a gift from God - absolutely free. We use the word grace when we talk about that free gift. When Jesus died on the cross, he bore our guilt and suffered the judgment that we deserve. Through Jesus, we are freed from the terrible consequences of our sin: eternal death and separation from God. We respond to God's love by loving and serving the people around us, our neighbors nearby and throughout the world. Jesus taught us about this new way to live with God and with one another, and he called it "the kingdom of God." The Holy Spirit leads us to faith and enables us to participate in the kingdom of God, wherein we fulfill our true purpose: to honor God and to work together with the rest of God's creatures for the good of the whole creation. Jesus is risen from the grave, and He now lives as the Lord of the universe. One day, he will return to bring the kingdom of God to fulfillment." If you're looking for a new church home, you are welcome here!
